The latest in our Kia owner’s series takes us to Tampa, Florida, where we find Phil, a retired former resident of Southern California who now lists iPhone art among his hobbies.

The photos he has taken as part of his art has seen his work land in iPhone art shows all over the world.

He loves nothing more than to share the photographs of his gray Kia Soul.

Phil just found the Kia Soul Titanium Gray this year, and admits that he was hooked from the moment he left the lot on a test drive.

He loves the spaciousness and how well it handles, going as far as admitting that it’s the best car he has ever owned.

Kia Soul Plus PhotoWhile the iconic look of the Soul has made it very recognizable, there are still people that are not sure what it is when they see it.

Phil loves taking the time to tell them more about the Kia Soul when they remark on how cool or cute that it looks.

Those same people also take the time to comment on the modifications that Phil has made to his car.

He has turned his creative eye to his Soul crossover vehicle, with the intent of making it look even funkier than it already is.

Style and comfort were what he was initially after when he purchased the vehicle, but he now look at is as a new art project of sorts, with more changes to come.

Kia Soul Titanium Gray Q&A

1. Tell us something about your Kia car ownership experience!

From the time I test dove the new Kia I know that is the car I wanted and bought it the day I took a test drive in it.

It is the best car I have owned, I love how it handles, the style and comfort. I have plenty of room and really enjoy driving this very cool car.

 2. What do other people say about your Soul Base?

Most people ask what kind of car is it. They all say how cute it is or how cool looking it is.

They are surprised at how much room there is inside when I open the door to show people my car. They also comment on what I have done to my car and think it’s cool I like to personalize my Soul.

I bought it back in November 2013 after taking a test drive while shopping for anew car. So it’s been 5 months now.

4. Honestly, what was your intention when you bought your car?

I was looking for something different  looking, a safe reliable car that also looked cool. I had a car that was getting old and wanted something new and different.

Nikki’s Kia Soul’s Called Little Devil + Cool Photos

For our latest entry in the Kia owner’s series we head to Chandler, AZ, where Nikki, an IT support representative, is a proud and active member of the Kia Soul community.

In fact, Nikki is the moderator at the SoulHamsters.com community, which is THE online venue for talking about the Kia Soul.

Nikki is definitely someone who is well versed in the auto world, as she spends a ton of time at motor shows, and was also a 3rd place winner at the Phoenix Duel in the Desert race.

She is also a keen Kia enthusiast, having been the owner of a pair of different Kia vehicles (Rio and Spectra) before getting behind the wheel of the Soul.

Kia Soul Rear LampsHer latest purchase has undergone some cool mods, and she now refers to it as Little Devil.

She is always delighted at the great responses she gets when people see Little Devil, but Nikki never really bought the vehicle expecting to do any major upgrades.

She wanted something that was good on gas, and she was very much inspired by the initial Kia Soul commercials on TV.

She has owned the car since 2011, and has since made numerous upgrades, all of which you can hear about by reading on.

Soul Owner Q&A

1. Nikki, tell us something about your Kia car ownership experience?

I have owned 2 other Kias before my Soul. A 2003 Kia Rio, M/T. I couldn’t drive it home because I didn’t know how to drive stick shift at the time.

And then I had a 2003 Kia Spectra GS. That was a fun little car, especially the “hidden” hatchback look.

When I bought my Soul, I never thought I’d modify it the way I did. Now I own a Kia Soul that I call Little Devil.

2. What do other people say about your car?

People are shocked to see a “slammed” Soul. They are always telling me how good it looks. A lot of people I come across are surprised when I tell them I added the modifications myself.

3. How long have you owned your ride?

I have owned my Little Devil since February 2011. Best decision I’ve ever made.

4. Honestly, what was your intention when you bought your Kia?

I needed a car of my own with good gas mileage; I was tired of using my dad’s Ford F150 that was a gas hog.

I remember when I first saw the commercial for the 2010 Soul with the Hamsters, I thought it was the funkiest looking car ever! But in 2011 when I pulled into the dealership, I just fell in love with the car.

5. What do you like the most about your ride?

What is there not to like? I love my car! I love how my car sounds with the SSD exhaust and intake. It doesn’t have that high pitched whining sound but rather a deep throaty sound that you’d get from a sports car.

6. What is it that makes your ride look unique?

The HSD Coilovers make such a difference, not just in looks, but also in ride quality. The coilovers have provided me with a nice 3 to 4 inch drop.

7. What accessories have you installed so far / do you have any future plans?

Current Modifications:

  1. LED Headlight “Eyebrows”
  2. SSD Roof Rails w/Aero Cross Bars and SSD Wind Fairing
  3. SSD Light bar w/Hella Black Magic Driving Lights
  4. SSD Axle-Back Exhaust
  5. SSD Cold Air Intake
  6. SSD Fog Light Vents
  7. Tinted Taillights and Rear Reflectors by Monster Paint
  8. FX TWM Performance Shifter Cable and Base Bushings OEM Sport
  9. Throw Shifter OEM
  10. Front and Rear Body Skirts in Piano Black
  11. Carbon Fiber Upholstery
  12. Vinyl Shifter
  13. Boot Carbon Fiber Upholstery
  14. Vinyl Door Panel Inserts
  15. White PlastiDip Center Console
  16. Trim White PlastiDip Hood and Hatch
  17. Diode Dynamics Interior and License Plate LEDs
  18. Stage 2 Stage 2 Reverse LEDs by Automotive Custom Lighting
  19. LLC Uniq Performance Strut
  20. Tower Brace HSD Monopro Series Coilovers
  21. MB Wheels Twist 18×7 +50 Offset w/Nitto Motivo 225/40ZR18XL Tires

Future modifications:

  • Upgraded audio (subwoofer, amp, door speakers, tweeters, headunit)
  • Custom Paint job (matte finish like the Plasti-Dip give it now)

Kia Soul Ignition Riding On 20-Inch Verde Avatar Rims

There are plenty of people out there waiting for the day that Kia delivers a vehicle similar to the Track’ster concept car they showcased last year.

There is no sign of that happening any time soon, which means Kia Soul owners are going to have to get a little creative if they want a unique looking vehicle.

That is exactly what Hiram Rosario from Puerto Rico had in mind with the changes he made to his Soul crossover.

The first thing that Hiram did to make the car stand out from the rest was to go with an orange color that is sure to get noticed on the road.

The addition of a black racing strip slicing the length of the car gives it a real sporty vibe.

Cool-Looking 20-Inch Alloy Wheels, Chrome Accessories

Hiram new that he would have to do a little more in order for the car to be a real attention getter, and he was able to accomplish that with some killer 20-inch Avatar chrome rims that need to be seen to be believed.

The Soul is a great looking car all on its own, but these additions make this particular model a real crowd pleaser.

Hiram purchased his Kia Soul earlier this year and admits that it is a work in progress.

Read on to find out what other changes he has made and what future plans he has for his already sporty Soul.

1. Tell us something about your Kia Soul ownership experience?
Its been great. I loved my Kia Soul.

2. What do other people say about your modified Soul crossover?
They love the look. They loved the way the rims make my car looks like. (Little Tonka) lol

3. How long have you owned your car?
I bought my Kia Soul in May 2013.

4. Honestly, what was your intention when you bought the funky Soul?
Well, first we was looking for a 4cyl car with good gas milage. We fall in love with the Kia Soul.
The car looks small, but when people get in it, they dont believe how much space and conftable its is.

5. What do you like the most about your Kia?
The look and the way it performs.

6. What is it that makes your ride look unique?
The color of course, lol. But the Avatar 20″ rims did the trick…lol

7. What aftermarket accessories have you installed so far / do you have any future plans?

I have done the following things: 20-inch Verde Avatar rims, blue interior led lights, under fender lights kit, chrome front grill, chrome side mirrors, chrome Intake system, chrome side markers, chrome door handle covers, chrome back plate.

Future modifications: For the future I am looking at a nice body kit and I already purchased lowering springs, as well as the angel headlights for my car. It’s work in progress….
