Having 2 Green Kia Souls In A Family

What’s better than owning a brand new Soul crossover vehicle? How about owning two of them?

That is what our latest Kia owners do, with each choosing the funky green-painted Kia Soul as the car to get them around in style.

The man of the house is a retired member of the USAF with a bachelor’s degree in engineering.

His wife, whom he describes as one of the most impressive ladies he knows, works as a manager for an alarm monitoring company, and she oversees 35 employees across three states.

Kia Soul Green PhotoBoth are new to Kia cars, having just purchased their Soul’s in March of this year, but both are already impressed with the quality of their cars.

Also impressed are friends and family members, one of whim has even commented that the Soul crossover vehicle delivers a much quieter ride than her Lexus.

The main reason that they chose the Soul was because it was roomy in front and offered a comfortable ride.

This was especially important to the former military man who was forced into retirement due to injuries. The support and roominess offered by the Soul have been a real blessing for him.

Both agree that the Soul has gone a long way towards helping them recapture their youth.

They describe their new cars as a party wagon where the radio is always on and the music playing.

In short, they have chosen the perfect car to suit their specific lifestyles.

1. Tell us something about your Kia Soul ownership experience!

It has not been long that my wife and I have had Kia’s. We brought the two of them home the end of March this year.

So far we are both blown away by the quality of the cars. They are solid and quiet. We feel we really did well ib choosing Kia this time.

2. What do other people say about your green-painted Soul models?

So far the few family and friends who have seen or been in the cars have been surprised.

They expected something like 1970’s Toyota’s. All lightweight and cheap, and stripped down.

One even said our Kia Soul is more quiet than her Lexus!

3. How long have you owned your rides?

We purchased them on the 28th of March this year. I just made the first payments.

4. Honestly, what was your intention when you bought your Kia?

We wanted to look to see if the new Kia Soul was roomy enough and sat up enough to be comfortable to older joint pain prone people. We both are.

It is in fact very roomy. It is very comfortable to sit in and has many adjustment options including up! We just needed some better support and room.[/B]

5. What do you like the most about your New Cars?

Kia Soul 16Personality! This is a crossover that thinks it is a party wagon! The radio is more than I have ever had in options.

There are more std buttons on the steering wheel than on my first calculator in engineering school!  The car is just comfortable and fun to drive also.

6. What is it that makes your rides look unique?

Well it isn’t the first crossover but is is the first hamster salesman fun car we have driven.

Hers is Alien II and the color pops where ever it is seen.

Mine is a darker green and suits my reserved slower countenance. The Soul just looks unique of all cars. people know it instantly and like it.  [/B]

7. What accessories have you installed so far / do you have any future plans?

I am thinking about back up cameras for both cars. We should have got them from the start.

She wants some ‘Marvin the Martian’ carpet floor mats. I dont have any needs right now that I can think of. Maybe a K&N air filter.

Thats about as wild as I get!

Yellow-Painted Kia Soul Exclaim With Cool-Looking White Rally Stripes

The latest in our series of Kia owners takes us to the SF East Bay area and a  yellow coated Kia Soul named Sandy.

The name of the car was given by the owner who has spent a good part of her life working with animals. That includes over 20 years’ experience as a veterinary technician, as well as running her own business as a house and pet sitter.

Flo was also a horse owner at one time, and needed a vehicle that could transport the animal, as well as hay bales and feed.

The vehicle that she chose to do the job was the Hyundai Tucson SUV, and it was a job that it handled well.

When the horse was gone and the time came to downsize, she decides that taking a look at Kia, Hyundai’s sister company, might be a good idea.

Kia Soul BodyIt was there that she met Sandy, the 2014 Kia Soul Exclaim that would serve as her next vehicle.

Sandy has been so good to her that she now spends a good chunk of her time participating in the Kia Soul forums.

As part of that participation, she made a cool Firefox browser that has the Soul as the theme: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/kia-soul-hamstar-hamsters/

As for the Sandy name, that came from the name that she had for her business: Cits 4 Pets.

The CITS stood for “Cowgirl in the Sand,” which led to that sweet little Soul landing its new name.

Read on to find out a little more about Sandy and her happy owner.

1. Tell us something about your Kia car ownership experience?

New to KIA ownership this year & so far ‘Sandy’ has been mechanically sound.

Previously had a Hyundai Tucson & had very good experience with servicing & warranty work so trusting their sister company Kia will be just as great.

Needed something very reliable as I use it for business & wanted something that was practical for carrying pets, had decent power & fairly quiet.

Not owning a horse anymore, so I did not need a vehicle to haul bales of hay or carry horse feed so wanted to downsize.

Nikki’s Kia Soul’s Called Little Devil + Cool Photos

For our latest entry in the Kia owner’s series we head to Chandler, AZ, where Nikki, an IT support representative, is a proud and active member of the Kia Soul community.

In fact, Nikki is the moderator at the SoulHamsters.com community, which is THE online venue for talking about the Kia Soul.

Nikki is definitely someone who is well versed in the auto world, as she spends a ton of time at motor shows, and was also a 3rd place winner at the Phoenix Duel in the Desert race.

She is also a keen Kia enthusiast, having been the owner of a pair of different Kia vehicles (Rio and Spectra) before getting behind the wheel of the Soul.

Kia Soul Rear LampsHer latest purchase has undergone some cool mods, and she now refers to it as Little Devil.

She is always delighted at the great responses she gets when people see Little Devil, but Nikki never really bought the vehicle expecting to do any major upgrades.

She wanted something that was good on gas, and she was very much inspired by the initial Kia Soul commercials on TV.

She has owned the car since 2011, and has since made numerous upgrades, all of which you can hear about by reading on.

Soul Owner Q&A

1. Nikki, tell us something about your Kia car ownership experience?

I have owned 2 other Kias before my Soul. A 2003 Kia Rio, M/T. I couldn’t drive it home because I didn’t know how to drive stick shift at the time.

And then I had a 2003 Kia Spectra GS. That was a fun little car, especially the “hidden” hatchback look.

When I bought my Soul, I never thought I’d modify it the way I did. Now I own a Kia Soul that I call Little Devil.

2. What do other people say about your car?

People are shocked to see a “slammed” Soul. They are always telling me how good it looks. A lot of people I come across are surprised when I tell them I added the modifications myself.

3. How long have you owned your ride?

I have owned my Little Devil since February 2011. Best decision I’ve ever made.

4. Honestly, what was your intention when you bought your Kia?

I needed a car of my own with good gas mileage; I was tired of using my dad’s Ford F150 that was a gas hog.

I remember when I first saw the commercial for the 2010 Soul with the Hamsters, I thought it was the funkiest looking car ever! But in 2011 when I pulled into the dealership, I just fell in love with the car.

5. What do you like the most about your ride?

What is there not to like? I love my car! I love how my car sounds with the SSD exhaust and intake. It doesn’t have that high pitched whining sound but rather a deep throaty sound that you’d get from a sports car.

6. What is it that makes your ride look unique?

The HSD Coilovers make such a difference, not just in looks, but also in ride quality. The coilovers have provided me with a nice 3 to 4 inch drop.

7. What accessories have you installed so far / do you have any future plans?

Current Modifications:

  1. LED Headlight “Eyebrows”
  2. SSD Roof Rails w/Aero Cross Bars and SSD Wind Fairing
  3. SSD Light bar w/Hella Black Magic Driving Lights
  4. SSD Axle-Back Exhaust
  5. SSD Cold Air Intake
  6. SSD Fog Light Vents
  7. Tinted Taillights and Rear Reflectors by Monster Paint
  8. FX TWM Performance Shifter Cable and Base Bushings OEM Sport
  9. Throw Shifter OEM
  10. Front and Rear Body Skirts in Piano Black
  11. Carbon Fiber Upholstery
  12. Vinyl Shifter
  13. Boot Carbon Fiber Upholstery
  14. Vinyl Door Panel Inserts
  15. White PlastiDip Center Console
  16. Trim White PlastiDip Hood and Hatch
  17. Diode Dynamics Interior and License Plate LEDs
  18. Stage 2 Stage 2 Reverse LEDs by Automotive Custom Lighting
  19. LLC Uniq Performance Strut
  20. Tower Brace HSD Monopro Series Coilovers
  21. MB Wheels Twist 18×7 +50 Offset w/Nitto Motivo 225/40ZR18XL Tires

Future modifications:

  • Upgraded audio (subwoofer, amp, door speakers, tweeters, headunit)
  • Custom Paint job (matte finish like the Plasti-Dip give it now)
