The 2017 Kia Forte5 receives subtle styling changes, along with a new 1.6L T-GDI turbo engine mated to a 7-speed DCT and Orange Color Pack.

Let’s take a closer look at all the Forte5 changes for 2017.

The refreshed Kia Forte 5-door hatchback was unveiled at the North American International Motor Show.

The European inspired styling is still in place for the popukar Kia 5-door hatchback, but it can be argued that it’s a little bolder this time around.

The now familiar tiger nose grille is now wider, and is similar in style to the one found on other 2017 Kia models.

At the rear of the vehicle, new taillights are in place, with the higher trim levels coming standard with daytime LED’s in front and back.

2017 Kia Forte5 trim levels: LX, EX, SX

There are 3 trim levels – LX, EX, and SX – to choose from, with each one delivering something a little different.

The LX is the base model, but it still comes with plenty of great standard features, such as remote keyless entry with trunk opener and projector beam headlights.

There is also the option of Lane Change Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Blind Spot Detection. Those assistance features are actually an option on all trim levels.

The 2017 Kia Forte EX trim is the one with the most changes from the outgoing model.

New additions include leather seats, LED taillights, push-start button with Smart Key, heated front seats, UVO eServices, and perimeter approach lighting with front-door pocket lighting.

The UVO infotainment system is displayed on a 7-inch touchscreen, and offers Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

The sporty 2017 Forte5 SX model comes with all the aforementioned features, and more.

You will also find unique fascias in front and back, 18-inch alloy wheels, and dual exhaust tip finishers.

One of the major additions to the 2017 Forte5 SX is the Orange Color Package.

The Orange Color Pack features rather sporty looking orange leather seat inserts and contrasting stitching on the seats and gear shifter.

2017 Kia Forte turbo engine

The standard engine found in the Kia Forte 5-door is a 2.0L GDI 4-cylinder mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.

There is also the option of a new generation 6-speed automatic gearbox.

The 2017 Kia Forte SX comes available with 1.6L turbo engine coupled with a 7-speed dual clutch transmission – DCT.

Items such as pricing and fuel economy will be released closer to the launch date, which is expected to be during the first half of the year.

Why completely ignore the 2017 Kia Forte Koup? The body style is the same way for a long time, is this model being canceled or is there another sport model for kia maybe something like the genesis?

Almost a year after its introduction and still we are waiting. Rarely has there been a car launch as delayed as this one. Either there is a serious problem in Mexico or KIA really believes North America hates hatchbacks (they may be right).

I would love to have a Kia Forte 2 Dr. coupe convertible, I certainly would by one for me to tour with. I am sure that if ever they did one, the price would rocket out of low income families, and would be the end of any potential sales.
