Kia Canada April Sales Figures

Kia Canada today announced 7,581 units sold during the month of April, which was a 5.4% drop over the previous year.

On the plus side, Kia had 4 different vehicles achieve sales of 1,000 units or more: the Rio subcompact, the always popular Optima sedan, the Sorento SUV, and the Forte family of compacts.

The Rio, which won Motoring TV’s  2013‘Best Small Car’ award, continues to dominate the subcompact segment with 1,790 units sold, for a 16.8% increase over last year.

The Optima also performed well, moving 1,423 units. The Georgia-built Sorento was close behind with 1,403 units sold for a very nice 22.2% increase over April 2012.

The Forte family combined for 1,258 units, which included 559 units of the all-new Forte sedan.

Jack Uczciwek, Director of Sales, Kia Canada Inc., said that April was another strong month that displayed Kia’s aggressive launch of no less than 9 all-new or refreshed vehicles, including 3 all new cars: 2014 Forte sedan, Rondo Urban Utility Vehicle and Cadenza premium sedan.

He commented on how all the new vehicles displayed a new design direction, whilst still delivering an incredible list of technology and safety features, as well as the fuel efficiency that we have come to expect from Kia.

The Canadian media is currently getting to know the all-new Rondo Urban Utility Vehicle, or Canada’s Urban Utility Vehicle as it is also being called.

So far, the media is in agreement with the Rondo’s status as a prestigious red dot vehicle design award recipient.

The all-new 2014 Kia Rondo is available in both 5 and 7-passenger models and features a very European inspired look, including a premium interior and wide array of versatility.
