2014 Kia Forte 5 SX, EX Models To Go On Sale In USA This Fall

The 2013 Chicago Auto Show has been seriously ignited with the unveiling of Kia Motors America’s red hot 2014 Forte 5-door hatchback.

The all-new Forte 5-door SX has a design that is very much pulled from the streets of Europe, as well as a powerful 1.6L gasoline direct-injected (GDI) turbocharged four-cylinder engine putting out 201 horsepower and 195 lb.-ft. of torque, making this model the most powerful in the Forte family.

We can expect to see the 2014 Forte 5-door in showrooms sometime during the third quarter of this year, with pricing expected to be released closer to that date.

The 2014 Kia Forte 5-door comes in a pair of different trim levels, EX and SX, as well as two very distinct engine choices.

On top of all that, the new Kia Forte will also have a list of premium standard features that are not normally found in the compact segment.

Forte EX, SX Engines

The base EX model of the Forte 5-door comes with a pretty powerful 2.0-liter GDI four-cylinder engine putting out a healthy 173 horsepower and 154 lb.-ft. of torque through a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The high performance SX has the 1.6-liter turbo 4-cylinder engine that we mentioned earlier in this piece.

Opting for the SX trim level also means having the option of a 6-speed manual transmission. If you’d sooner stick to manual, you can opt for the 6-speed with steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters.

Kia Forte 5 Tires

The performance levels of the Forte 5-door gets another boost thanks to a sport-tuned suspension with a McPherson strut setup in front and a torsion beam rear design.

If you opt for the EX, you will ride on 205/55R-16 tires, while the SX delivers a sportier driving experience with 225/40R-18 tires.

  1. so my cment was deleted hmm.

Forte is a terrible name. I already gave you bettwr more relevant car names than forte. For a new company like kia, having an average.boring name will not help sales.

A professional logo is also changes tge perception of consumers as well.

It is about darn time that chungong koo wake up and hire a real manager that knows how to sell cars.

  2. You and your ridiculous and irrelevant model names. The name fits the car in all of its definitions. Forte is simple, elegant, and says “I’m good at what I do”. Musically, play it loud/strong. This car is loud and strong. Your suggestions are laughable, baseless, and contribute nothing to the meaning of the car.
