Kia’s all-new K4 mid-size sedan is going to be launched at the 2014 Beijing Auto Show in April this year!
The K4 4-door sedan will slot in-between the K3 compact car (known also as Forte) and the K5 midsize sedan (sold as Optima in the USA).
According to Carnewschina.com and auto.sohu.com, the vehicle is set to go on sale in the world’s most populated country during he second half of the year and will be the “China market exclusive” model!
This means the upcoming K4 sedan will be tailored to meet the Chinese consumer tastes and needs.
In terms of styling, the new Kia K4 exterior styling has been inspired by the Horki concept car, which was unveiled at Shangai AutoShow last year, while inside, the car takes some styling cues from the Kia Cadenza premium sedan.
What we have also learned about the car so far is the fact that this is the twin model of the just-recently launched Hyundai Mistra, which is another vehicle from the Hyundai-Kia Automotive Group that is only on sale in China.
There are no specific tech details about the spied vehicle, however, we believe the model will use the same powertrain technology as the above-mentioned Mistra sedan.
A range of two four-cylinder engines are expected to be available at launch (1,8L and 2,0L), while later Kia may also introduce a 1,6L turbocharged unit with more than 200 horsepower.
Official pricing hasn’t been announced yet, but the new K4 sedan should cost from around 140.000 to 180.000 yuan. [Photo-source: Carnewschina]
