Best-Selling Kia Vehicles In 2013 – Rio, Cerato, Sportage

Kia Motors Corporation has announced its global sales figures for April 2013.

The numbers incorporate export, domestic, and overseas sales of all of their passenger cars, RV’s, and commercial vehicles.

The final number came in ar 239,347, which is an increase of 4.2% year on year.

The best-selling Kia model in the overseas market was the B-segment Rio (known also as Kia K2 in China) which had 41,620 units sold.

The C-segment Cerato (Forte or K3 in other markets) came in second with 32,852 units sold.

Next up was the Sportage compact SUV, the Optima D-segment sedan, and the Sorento midsize CUV with 32,844, 24,213 and 16,921 units sold, respectively.

Top-selling Kia cars in 2013

Kia hit in big in China with a 19.6% (48,482 units sold) year in year increase. They also made positive gains in both Europe and Korea, with 7.1% (53,058 units sold) and 1.4% (40,554 units sold), respectively.

Kia did see a dip in sales in both General Markets and North America by 4.3% (42,116 units sold) and 0.8% (55,137 units sold), respectively.

General markets include the regions of Central and South America, the Caribbean, Asia (excluding China and Korea), the Pacific, Middle East and Africa.

All the numbers combined add up to a sales increase of 3.1% for Kia in the first four months of 2013.

Kia believes that the sales momentum from the first part of the year will continue with the release of new vehicles, including the re-designed 2014 Soul crossover, Forte 5-door hatchback and Forte 2-door coupe.
