USA: Kia sales in October 2012 increase nearly 13 percent!

We are happy to announce the month of October 2012 being yet-another record breaking month for the Kia brand in the United States.

Kia’s sales last month increased to 42,452 units and were up 12,6 percent from the same month a year ago!

With only two months to go in the year, Kia Motors America is already well on track to break its all-time sales records for the U.S. market. October 2012 sales of 42,452 units have pushed the carmaker’s year-to-date sales to 477,366 units which is very close to 2011 full year figure of 485,492 units.

October sales by model repeated the September 2012 sales finishing order, with the Kia Optima, Sorento CUV and Soul crossover vehicle in first, second, and third place, respectively. With 12,948 units sold last month, the 2013 Kia Optima retained its sales crown, beating the Kia Sorent0’s 9,615 units sold and Soul’s 7,988 units sold.

Following the top-three best-selling Kia vehicles last month were the Kia Forte (sales count the Forte Koup and Forte 5-door hatchback), Rio and Sportage with sales of 5.911, 2.623 and 2.223 units, respectively.

Finally, the Sedona minivan came in 7th with sales falling from 1,541 units in October 2011 to 1,144 units last month.

Although the Sedona has not seen any major updates in styling and powertrain technology, the vehicle (as well as the minivan segment) remains important to Kia Motors America.

We have learned that the South Korean carmaker is hard at work to bring a completely re-designed Sedona minivan to the market late next year, so stay tuned for the latest updates on the upcoming Kia Sedona MPV!
