Kia Canada November sales

Canada’s auto market sputtered badly last month despite the biggest incentive boost in the industry’s history. Sales and leases of new autos dropped 5 per cent, or more than 6,000, to 117,284 cars and light trucks in November from the same month last year, manufacturers reported yesterday.

Among last month’s losers, General Motors of Canada Ltd. said its sales tumbled 10.2 per cent, or more than 3,000 units, to 28,071. Volume at Ford fell 8.4 per cent to 15,909 vehicles in November while business at Toyota Canada Inc., including the luxury Lexus division, dropped 8.3 per cent to 12,554.

Honda Canada Inc., including the luxury Acura brand, said its sales decreased 2.7 per cent to 13,676 while deliveries for Nissan Canada Inc., including the Infiniti nameplate, dropped 13 per cent to 4,858.

  1. A special thanks for putting up this , and other info, re Kia sales in Canada. It is very difficult to find such info elsewhere as Kia Canada doesn`t appear to issue such data!!

Looks like Kia is doing remarkably well in a deteriorating genaral auto market in this country . Maybe this will even accelerate as people focus on Kia`s value proposition ,and
    improved quality .

  2. No problem micro99! I’m glad Kia’s doing a good job in Canada also. I predict the sales will be at the same levels also next year and will go up when the new Soul crossover hits Canadian market.

  3. Thanks for the info. As a kia salesperson in canada, it feels good to see how well we really are doing in this country. Also, great job on the new site. I check it everyday for upcoming news…keep me posted

  4. This site is fantastic. I am also a sales representative in Canada and just love seeing the KIA brand gain popularity as the day’s go by. November was a great month for us in Toronto. Can’t wait to see the Borrego and Soul in person. My fingers are crossed hoping KIA will bring out a sporty coupe like the new Tiburon arriving soon! Keep up the good work!

  5. Hi Mark. Welcome to the blog! KIA-WORLD’s goal is to help Kia gain popularity and I’m glad we can help by that… Do you have any informations on when the Soul is coming to the market in Canada/USA/Europe?

  6. My wife and I purchased a 2007 Rondo EX V6 Luxury from Gander KIA in August. To say we are pleased is an understatement. We traded our beloved 1998 Legacy Brighton wagon on it, and though it lacks AWD, the Rondo is quite adept at handling our snowy December (our dealer tossed in a set of studded winter tires on steel rims as part of the deal).
We like the handling, the ride, the acceleration, the brakes, the looks, the comfort, the practicality, the quality, the engineering – we like everything! The 3rd row seats are great at accommodating the occasional 5th or 6th passenger, and provide lots of space when folded. Everything works so smoothly and efficiently – the seats tumble or fold so well, the controls are smooth and effortless, the stereo rocks, and so on. The overall impression is of solidity and quality.
Despite what some auto reviewers have said, we find the Rondo (when equipped with its all-season tires) to be very, very quiet at highway speeds, almost silent. It also handles remarkably well for a family-hauler, plus the V6 is very responsive and the 5 sp auto kicks down without hesitation. When equipped with the studded winter tires, as it is now, the Rondo is actually quite loud, but we realize that is a function of the tires and studs, not the Rondo. It’s just such a contrast to the quietness of the all-season tire’d Rondo.
The around-town fuel economy is not what Transport Canada stated, but it is about par for what we expected; however the highway fuel economy exactly matches that of our 4 cyl manual Legacy, which amazes us! That’s 32 mpg by my calculations, with 2 adults, 2 kids, a load of luggage, and cruise set at 115 km/h. Wow! And the Rondo cruises ever so serenely, which the Legacy did not.
The features are all very nice, but the ones that amaze us the most, and we most appreciate, are the windshield wiper de-icers (these should mandated as safety equipment on every vehicle), the outside mirror de-icers (ditto), the 6 airbags, and the neat every-automaker-should-have-it purse hook on the right of the centre console. It is great for holding a snack bag or garbage bag for trips with the kids.
We looked at several vehicles before deciding on the Rondo, including a 2007 Caravan SXT and a 2007 Mazda5. We are pleased we took a chance on the Rondo – our first impression was that of a solid, well-built car that met all of our needs yet was not too much vehicle for our family, and this impression has been borne out over the last several months.
One suggestion – please offer the Rondo with a manual transmission, especially with the V6 – now THAT would be a combo we would buy next time around for sure. Also, how about some aftermarket-type accessories for customization?
Anyway, what a car! Truly one of the best values in autodom today.

  7. Hi himi,
we are told the soul will arrive in our showrooms in toronto sometime late summer to early fall 2008 along with the Borrego.

  8. Good to hear that josh, thanks for your news. The sooner the better i’d say!:)
Did you already get any Kia Soul teaser shots? I know car companies often make dealer meetings to show their upcoming future vehicles.

  9. nothing yet. just what i’ve found here and other websites. if i get my hands on anything, i’ll make sure to post them here

  10. Josh- It is good to see a fellow Kia salesman on here. Just out of curiosity, what do you average in Canada and what is the most popular model there? Here we sell a boat load of Spectra and Sportages.

  11. colby our number one sellers are the sportage and rondo. this dealership avearges about 30 a month. but we just moved into our new dealership this week. we are expected to double sales. very exciting times. good selling to you

  12. we are hoping the soul sells like the rondo. there is a huge market for it here in toronto. a lot of commuters looking for that type of vehicle.

  13. Strangely, Optima and Sorento are best sellers at Williams Kia so far this month. They have never had a Rio5 longer than 2 days after it came off the truck.
