Kia K5 / Optima commercial
This is the new video commercial of the all-new Kia K5, known also as the Optima in the United States.
The K5 has been a hot-seller for the Kia brand in the South Korean market surpassing the long-time sales leader, the Sonata, for several times.
For the U.S. market, Kia produces the new optima mid-size sedan in the States. The manufacturing plant can produce more than 300,000 vehicles per year.
HIMI I saw this and several other videos about a month ago on youtube….when you google Kia K5 you see lots of pretty videos of this sweet baby….Kia’s best so far!!! Waaaaay to Go…Do you know that There are different gauges in the EX and the Luxury Model? I hope we get the EX model here in the states because the gauges look more luxurious…like the Lexus….or maybe the gauges are different in Korea..Idk

Beautiful lines on the vehicle but… please…cut the techno-crap noise that poses as music – a major irritant. Might not stop me from buying the car but sure as heck makes me want to shut off the commercial!

From what I read in NYC, the LX and EX Optima will have a 2.4L GDI pumping 200 HP. The SX Optima will feature a 2.0L GDI Turbo engine with a whopping 276 HP. The hybrid Optima will get the plain 2.4L and a 78kW electric motor (176 HP from the gas engine, ??? from the electric engine).
While I was there I asked specifically for a manual transmission for SX models. I was told “We will watch the current market, and make our decisions based on what is selling best” <<<MOST GENERIC, PRESS PLEASING ANSWER EVER! That is STUPID reasoning! NO ONE offers a manual on a top option vehicle. How can you compare something to nothing?
Did they really take this to salt flats or is this just effects?
Who would’ve known that my 1999 Kia Sephia would’ve ran so well with 70,000 Yokohama radials and Konig Diva wheels? I mean, the handlign improved 50% after adding those gems to the little subcompact. Loved my ’99.
The Rendering is US Civic Coupe. All I have to say about that is Wow!!! Whether that’s a good Wow or bad wow is depending on your perception when you look at the pic.
That new Rio will be at Chicago or New York, I’m sure.
