2016 Kia Optima Colors: Three New Shades Available
Kia of USA announces three new paint shades in the 2016 Optima color palette!
When an automaker has a vehicle in their lineup that is a runaway success, there is always the temptation to do little to change it when a refresh or next generation model is delivered.
There is consumer comfort in familiarity, but there is also the risk that the competitors may evolve and pass you by.
That may be why Kia have decided to make some real changes to the next-generation Optima that allow the vehicle to have a familiar style, yet one that is still a positive step forward.
When the Kia designers were coming up with the new look for the 2016 Optima, they had 3 words that served as the inspiration: advanced, modern, and dynamic.
This is a vehicle that is an evolution of the Optima that consumers have come to know and love.
In order to deliver a sporty, dynamic vehicle, the designers pulled from a variety of different inspirations, with everything from fashion to sci-fi movies playing a role.
The latter even served as the inspiration for the exterior colors of the vehicle, which we will talk about in a moment.
The biggest change to the exterior styling of the new Optima can be found on the front bumper, with a new grille and headlight setup creating a striking new look.
The sporty sophistication of the exterior is carried over to the interior of the car, where you will find a look that is akin to what you would find in a premium model.
It is a clean design that will make the driver feel as though there is a ton of space in the cabin.
New Kia Optima colors 2016
In the grand scheme of things, color is pretty low on the totem pole, but Kia know that the overall look and style of their cars are completed with colors that catch the eye.
The full palette is yet to be revealed, but a trio of new Kia Optima colors will be added:
- Pluto Brown
- Moss Grey
- Gravity Blue
The latter of those three colors calls upon the sci-fi inspiration we mentioned earlier, with the hit movie “Gravity” the source of that striking hue.
