Official: Kia No3 concept car premiere takes place in Geneva

Kia No3 concept officially unveiled in Geneva!

A stunning Kia concept car, named simply the No3, has been unveiled at Geneva Motor Show today. Following Kia’s latest design language, the No3 concept car combines attractive exterior design full of dynamic surfaces and attractive lines that Kia has been using lately to build it’s new brand identity.

The concept vehicle has been designed under the leadership of Kia’s head designer, Mr. Peter Schreyer, who has been responsible to give the range of Kia cars more distinctive look and the No3 concept represents the latest masterpiece of this initiative.

This new design language has already been implemented to several concept cars wearing a Kia badge and some design elements, such as characteristic signature grille, have already found a place on several production Kia models. Yet, the leaders of Kia Motors state there’s more to come in the very near future and we are certainly looking forward to that, don’t we!?

Kia No3 previews the upcoming mini-MPV model, which has been seen undergoing on-road testing programs for a few times by now, indicating it’s production is approching fast. By now we have learned that the model will be built by Hyundai at it’s new European manufacturing plant located in Czech Republic. Adding to what we already know about production, the new Kia mini-MPV production will commence in the week 45 of this year – Novemeber 2009.

The design of the Kia No3 appears youthful and fresh and it’s dynamic exterior lines provide the car a sporty appearance. It’s front fascia features an evolution of the H-shapped grille we have seen before. Together with the brand’s logotip and it’s generously proportioned headlights, extending far into the front wheel arches, the radiator grille gives the front fascia an appealing and open-minded look.

With it’s length of 4.045 mm, 1760mm width and 1.600mm height the concept promises to provide a generous cabin space, while it’s 2.615mm long wheelbase (longer than in the Soul) means plenty of the occupants’ seating position and driving comfort.

Interior of Kia No3

Inside, the No3 features a unique and very modern look. It demonstrates the highlights of Kia’s future interior design, which will bring us higher grade interior materials, stylish equipment, and up-to-date IT technology.

This particular Kia concept features three circular dials, including rev counter, the speedometer and fuel gauge, each sporting a tubular design. The leather-wrapped steering wheel features accents finished in piano-black and high-gloss white color, and steering wheel mounted audio-navigation system controls.

Atop the center stack in the Nor3 concept there is a large LCD display, while below you can see the “turn and push” central control uni, which allows the driver to mastermind the navigation, audio system, air-conditioning and internet functions easily.

Unique seats with special “Star Dust” finished upholostery are slightly elevated giving the driver and passengers in the No3 concept an excellent all-round visibility, while ensuring an easy access and exit.

Another very unique item providing the perfect view of both the traffic and the road is a huge panoramic roof, which stretches directly out of the windscreen and extends all the way to the rear spoiler. The glass roof is expected to reach the serial production!

  1. i don’t think so, the replacement for the rio is scheduled to 2010, because the plataform will be change to the same that Hyundai i20

  2. I think it will replace Rio in Europe…next generation Rio for the other countries will come from Korea. But when i look at the size, I think it will replace the Rio.

It makes no sense o put a car between Rio and Soul and for a cee´d plus it is too short.
