Kia USA February 2013 Sales Figures

Kia Motors America sold 41,505 vehicles in February, down 7.84 percent compared to the same month a year ago.

Year-to-date sales for Kia total 77,807 – a 3,5 percent decrease over the same period in 2012.

With 13,195 units sold last month, Kia Optima remained the carmaker’s top-selling nameplate in the United States.

Having sold 7,945 units, the Sorento crossover vehicle, which received a major upgrade for the 2014 Model Year, continued its momentum. The funky Soul has also performed well selling 9,551 units last month.

The soon-to-be-replaced Forte range posted monthly sales of 5,003 units, while the entry-level Rio recorded the sales of 3,339 units.

After four years of steady growth, it’s quite unusual to see the Kia monthly sales fall.

We are expecting the carmaker’s sales to rebound in the second half of the year (if not earlier) after Kia introduces 3 new models, the 2014 Forte Koup, Optima facelift and 2014 Soul crossover.

All three Kia vehicles will make their world premieres at the upcoming New York International Auto Show.
