2014 Rio Release Date Announced
[Update] Kia just released official details about the 2016 Rio.
You can find full details about the 2016 Rio changes here.
The Rio on sale at this point is a 2013 model year. It is available as a 4-door sedan and 5-door hatchback.
In Europe Kia also sells the 3-door Rio hatchback, but that is not on sale in the North American market.
It is expected that Kia will introduce a 2014 Rio within the next few months.
Unfortunately, we have absolutely no idea on when that might be, so the model’s exact release date remains a well kept secret.
Honestly said, Kia has been very busy launching four new 2014 models lately, including the all-new Cadenza premium sedan, Forte 4-door sedan, Forte 5-door hatchback, Forte Koup and next-generation Soul crossover vehicle.
So it might take a while the company to release the first details and powertrain specs about the 2014 Rio.
2014 Rio Changes / Improvements
Kia Rio is still a pretty fresh face on the market, so Kia won’t be making any major updates for the 2014 model year.
We are 100% sure that the carmaker will keep the exterior and interior styling of the 2014 model intact.
The Rio still looks very attractive, so it doesn’t need any styling changes.
The 2014 Rio may receive some minor trim level upgrades to further boost its value.
Some fresh new colors could be added to the exterior paint palette, while the 2014 model year model could also get a slightly better mpg rating.
Neither of the above-mentioned changes (new colors, mpg boost, trim level upgrade) are guaranteed.
At this point this is nothing but a speculative gossip, however, Kia does implement similar changes when introducing the new model year cars and SUVs.
Stay tuned for the official news on the 2014 Kia Rio!
