Kia Pro_cee’d GT Cabrio – High Resolution Wallpaper
If you have ever spent any time at an auto show, you were more than likely blown away by the concept cars that all of the major automakers roll out each year.
There are always one or two that really capture the imagination of the public, leading to hopes that those cars will some day go into production.
Few, if any, ever do, although some of the elements used in the concept design will make their way into newer models.
Kia, led by the incredible design eye of Peter Schreyer, have had their fair share of great concept models, including the excee’d cabriolet concept.

As much attention as that particular vehicle received, it never made it into production.
The car, based on the pro_ceed GT 3-door coupe, drew rave reviews from customers and critics alike, with many believing that the car would soon be available in showrooms.
Rumored: A topless version of the Kia Pro_cee’d
That belief was probably down to the fact that Kia head of design Peter Schreyer spoke out and said that the Korean automakers needed a halo car that would create a huge amount of buzz among the buying public.
Since he said that, there have been numerous rumors that Kia would indeed introduce a cabrio into the market, yet it still hasn’t happened.
Kia’s GT Model Range Expansion
The fact that Kia seems to be making a move towards high-performance GT models, particularly in Europe, only fuels the rumor fires.
What it also does is inspire car enthusiasts and designers to create visions of what a Kia cabrio might look like, such as this version of a possible Kia Pro-cee’d GT Cabrio.
While this particular concept is only specualtion, it is certainly an exciting vision of what a Kia GT cabrio might look like.
While the drawing is pure specualtion at this point, it does not seem that such a model would be out of the realm of possibility.
This is because Kia recently revealed their decision to expand the GT model range.
The cabrio would fit in very nicely with Kia’s current GT family, which currently consists of a pro_cee’d GT 3-door and cee’d GT 5-door hatchback.
Add to that the fact that Kia is rumored to be adding GT models to the Rio and Forte lineup, as well as a possible GT for the larger Optima sedan.
If the pro_cee’d GT cabrio were given the go ahead by Kia, there is a distinct possibility that it would use the 204-horsepower 1.6L four-cylinder petrol engine fitted with a twin-scroll turbocharger.
The suspension would also be completely retuned so that it would cut roll and improve handling when compared to the current pro_cee’d. It would also have a sportier look thanks to a lower ride height.
All that exists right now is a designer’s rendition of the car, but should it go into production, you could expect to see it in showrooms by the end of 2015.
