Kia Motors Global Sales Through February

Kia has released its global sales reports for the first two months of 2013.

The sales figures include export sales, domestic sales and sales from overseas plants, passenger cars, recreational vehicles and commercial vehicles.

The total units sold during the first two months of fiscal year came in at 408,822, which represents a 4.5% year on year increase over the same period in 2012.

For the month of February 2013, Kia saw their numbers increase by 3.1 % in Europe with 39,861 units sold. They also increased by 2.9% in General Markets with 40,647 units sold, whilst also doing well in China with a 1.7% (38,660 units) increase.

Numbers were down in both North America and Korea with drops of 8.1% and 17.8% respectively.

All told, the global sales for Kia have increased 4.5% over the first two months of 2013 when compared to last year.

China was the leader with gains of 26.1% (96,235 units sold). Europe and General Markets were next at 4.6% (77,920 units) and 3.5% (79,876 units) respectively.

Cumulative decreases for the first two months were experienced in Korea at 6.8% (69,150 units sold) and North America at 3.7% (85,641 units sold).

Kia’s Best Sellers

The big seller for Kia in the February of 2013 was the B-segment Rio (known as K2 in China) which sold a total of 34,831 units. The C-segment Kia Cerato (or Forte as it’s known in other markets) came in second with 27,579 units sold.

Rounding out the top 5 were the Kia Sportage compact CUV (25,979 units), the Optima D-segment sedan (20,157 units), and the Sorento mid-size CUV (14,727 units).

  1. wtf, why is sale going down in usa??? so frustrating to watch this happen over the years . why the fuck can’t they just build a plant. they should have planned this long time ago . this is getting riduckulous. losing sales and opportunities when u have the products that can sell.
