Kia To Launch K9 Facelift Next Month

Kia plans to release a refreshed K9 flagship sedan in Korea next month!

After commencing the sales of the brand-new Carnival (Sedona) MPV and Sorento crossover vehicle several weeks ago, Kia is now gearing up to introduce a refreshed K9 luxury sedan in South Korea.

First launched in 2012, the automaker’s first-ever rear-wheel-drive luxury car hasn’t sold so well as Kia initially projected, therefore the company has made a decision to bring an updated model to the market a little earlier than first planned.

According to the latest reports, the K9 luxury sedan will receive minor exterior tweaks and styling enhancements, as well as offer an even broader list of standard premium features.

Kia K900To date, we have seen no spy shots of the Kia K9 facelift, therefore it’s kind of difficult to predict all the changes that are going be made to the updated vehicle.

While further details are scarce at the moment, it is also not clear at this point what’s the future of this high-end luxury sedan.

As we already reported a while ago, Kia has been hard at work to bring the eye-catching GT concept car to life, with the official release date, reportedly, set for the year of 2016.

Compared to the K9 flagship sedan, the GT model is said to boast a more Europen-inspired exterior styling, while inside, the vehicle will feature a range of advanced electronics systems with interior materials and fit & finish matching the rivals such as the Audi A7 and Porsche Panamera.

Once put on sale, the GT sports sedan could replace the slow-selling K9 sedan as a flagship model in the carmaker’s fast expanding vehicle line-up.
