Interior rendering of Kia’s 2011 Optima car hits the web

First interior rendering of Kia’s 2011 Optima car reveals modern interior lay-out.

A rendering image showcasing interior design of the all-new Kia Optima sedan has been posted online today. The image reveals stylish interior lay-out inspired by latest interior designs seen at some Audi models.

Kia’s latest foray into competitive mid-size sedan market will come equipped with the automaker’s brand-new 2.4L Theta II GDI engine with an estimated 198 horsepower. The automaker will also introduce a less potent Optima model with 2.0L four-cylinder engine, while latest rumours suggest, Kia will also unveil a turbocharged Optima sedan, as well as hybrid variant sometime in 2011.

The 2011 Kia Optima is scheduled to make its official worldwide public premiere at the forth-coming New York Auto Show on April 2nd. According to latest reports from South Korea, Kia will commence the sales of new Optima (called Kia K5 in Korea) in May 2010.

  1. I know what you mean. I’ll be in New York for the auto show, and I will get to see this baby in person! I wonder if they are going to bring the Sportage to New York also. When I talked to the Kia reps in Chicago, they were talking about Optima AND Sportage for New York. I sure hope so.

  2. I hope Kia uses quality materials inside. Hard plastic is a real let down in such beautiful cars…

  3. Yes…UK reviewers have stated that one of the few let downs of the new Sorento is that its (well designed and nicely textured) cabin has too many hard plastics! =(

  4. Warning: the Hyundaibuzz.com website has been hijacked and now re-routes to a Russian hacking site purporting to be a security software site. I had to just power down my system after I couldn’t get Taskmanager to respond in a timely manner. When I restarted, I was warned that MS Security Center was turned off. Beware.

  5. OK, the Kia-Buzz site just published an article stating that the West Point plant will pick up an RV from the second half of this year and another model for the US market next year. Guess that pretty well confirms what the Korean press has already said: West Point gets the Santa Fe and then the Optima (supposedly Montgomery picks up the Elantra). West Point is supposedly, according to what the article says, the biggest HKAG plant of all.

  6. by RV it could also mean the new Sportage, as it didn’t specifically mention the model.

  7. There is a reason that the Cadenza has not come here yet. There has been a severe issue with subframe rusting on K7 models. Kia has to correct and test the subframe issue before they can start sales in the USA.

  8. Oh you guys still have a couple of hours. I am going to New York for the Auto Show. Let me know if there is something you want to find out.
