Kia Track’ster concept car set to make its official public premiere at the 2012 Chicago auto show!
Kia Motors America today released the very-first teaser image of its up-coming Track’ster concept vehicle. The Soul-based concept car will be officially unveiled at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show next week.
Designed by Kia’s Californian design studio (led by Tom Kearns), the Track’ster concept car sports a three-door hatchback body style and low roofline. It also features larger wheels and more aggressive body kit than the current Kia Soul. Under the hood, the Track’ster features a highly-potent turbo-charged four-cylinder engine with 250 horsepower.
The current Kia Soul has been a smashing success in the States with sales topping 102.000 units last year, but the model is already four years old and development of the next-generation Soul is well underway. Therefore we think the Track’ster does not only showcase the carmaker’s evolving design language, but also gives us a clear idea as to what the next Kia Soul will look like.
Kia says that there are no plans for Track’ster to enter production at this point, but positive public reaction might change Kia’s initial plans. Full details about the hot-looking concept vehicle will be released on February 8th, so stay tuned.

I think it looks absolutely amazing (so far). Most likely, the final concept won’t be as agressive as the one previewed here, but still far sportier that the current Kia Soul.

What do you think, about this… should Kia build a “Soul”sub-brand similarly to Toyota Prius brand? The Soul brand would include a Soul FWD crossover, Soul all-wheel-drive, Soulster pick-up and sporty Track’ster … and perhaps an all-electric Soul… wouldn’t that be interesting? Kia could rival Mini with such a range…

Himi Kia fan is right on, the opportunities are endless.

Quite a concept… a Soul on steroids. Great signature design cues. Now let’s see what lands up on the showroom floor.

Me like. Here’s what I came up with: Notice Kia didn’t reveal the front end? Anyone wanna know why? I’ll tell you why. Lets go back to 2006. When the 2006 Soul concept was unveiled, it was shown before the Kia Signature Grille was ever thought of; as a result, we can expect the Trackster to really embrance Kia’s grille rather than a last mintue thing that is currently on Soul, Rondo and Sedona. So, What do you think the Track’ster face is gonna look like? Will it be sporty? Aggressive or will it just be lame? Maybe itll be aggressive to continue to regain the best selling vehicle in its class. Maybe not. Maybe the Track’ster is at Chicago behind a platform in a dark secured room? Maybe it’s behind stage underneath lights. Maybe someone is washing it? Maybe they have to rehearse or maybe they already did. Kia is up to something, somthing sporty, powerful, stylish, grounbreaking, surprising, big, mean, small, attarctive, something high teck something I don’t even know what it is yet…………… but I will find out or my name ain’t jtz.

Maybe the Soul is seating next to the Soul’ster in Kia’s R&D in front of designers wearing white coats down to their ankles? Maybe the exectives are having a disccussion about the Soul’ster going into production? Maybe some of this exes are in S. Korean? Maybe some are in LA using Skype? Maybe not? Maybe the main boss is in front of a giant computer screen that is displayed in front of 10 to12 Kia exective employees?

Obviously this is just a styling exercise, because the lines are too undefined, too sketchy at this point. It looks like a chopped & channeled Soul. In other words; this could be a Kia Tuner Car/vehicle. I said all that to say this………BRING IT.
Kia, this is very aggressive, racy, sporty and looks great. Sounds even better with 250+ hp and AWD. Keep weight as light as possible.
Could this have future rally plans???
Build it, Bring it and stay true to original design. IT WILL SELL. That’s what this is all about.Sales!!
Build it, Bring it, Sell it. We will buy it. Your target market is probably more for the younger generation, But surprise,surprise;
I am 66 and I love it. I still like things Fast,w/horsepower & handling & practicality!!! Good idea KIA.

The whites located at the fronts are on K9, KV7 and Naimo. This Kia won me over the Naimo. 66 years old huh? I wanna be like that. Still drive fast. I can’t stand slow pokes doing 27 mPh in a 35. When I get uP ahead, people were driving slow for no reason. In fact some minivan was in front of me. It was going slow for no reason. It was a big, dumb, slow, ugly, stupid Honda van. Just buy a pilot damn. I almost blew my horn at the dumb slow accelerating vehicle. Just shows you why crossovers are so much better. Minivans are useless and annoying to be behind on the roads.

A new thought. Soul 4 u, Soul! ,Soul’ster, Sould Diva ect….. But did you notice “Soul” is not in Track”ster? What if this is that 4WD B segment car? Think about it. If this has turbo what platform is it using? My guess is the concept is on the cee’d platform. Does the Rio have 247 hp or accent? And the Veloster, does it have AWD? Therefore I gotta wonder if this is on cee’d platform. If the Rio platform could operate AWD wouldn’t the Veloster have it? Wouldn’t the Accent, I20, Rio, have AWD?

Kia Naimo, Soul and Track’ster hint Black A pillars.

I wish Kia would build an all-electric Soul! There’ll be an AWD version, as far as I have heared…

4 Days! Only for days until Chicago Auto Show!! 4 days until the unveiling of the new Kia concept. By then we will know if New England or Giants win the Super bowl. Who will win? No one knows. Anyway I a new thought “Track’ster.” track as in a race track. Himi you gave me a clue. Kia wants the Soul to evolve from Eco friendly to Eco friendly and Sporty. Trackster. Therefore I gotta assume this model is fast. Other names to think of: Electric’ster? Hybrid’ster? AWD’ster ?Maybe maybe not. Only 4 days left. 96 hours to go. Get ready!!!

It’s on this sketch just like the 2013 Kia Forte but not the 2013 Proceed sketch. Notice I said “Sketch.” This will tell you the K3 might not be the Forte. Interesting coming back on here and reading my previous post, I found out I was right before the unveiling of the Track’ster. So what are the chances I’m right about something not on the pro-cee’d sketch that tells me something new about the next Forte?
