Is this the all-new 2013 Kia cee’d 5-door hatchback?

The all-new Kia cee’d 5-door hatchback is scheduled to make its official public premiere at the Geneva Auto Show in March. It’s still more than two months before Kia puts the wraps off its next-generation C-segment car, which will be marketed exclusively in Europe, but we can already show you the very-first official image of it.

As evident from the image, the 2013 Kia cee’d will feature a completely redesigned exterior, which will adopt Kia’s latest styling elements, including H-shaped signature grille and stylish LED headlamps. The next-generation Kia Cee’d will be based on the Hyundai i30 platform and will include much of the same chassis and suspension components, and range of engines.

It will go on sale in Europe during the second quarter of 2012. Follow the jump to read Kia’s official press release!

UPDATE: 2 more images of the 2013 Kia cee’d added to the gallery!

The all-new 2013 Kia cee’d combines styling typically found on a sporty coupe with the space and functionality of a five-door hatchback.

Upmarket exterior design immediately gets your attention, with details like chrome framed windows and muscular lines on the bonnet. The stunning exterior design is complemented by an ergonomic, driver oriented control panel and refined interior, with a strong focus on quality of materials.

The new Kia cee’d is a technically sophisticated, highly competitive, C-segment entry wrapped up in Kia’s award-winning design and industry leading 7-Year warranty.

New cee’d will be available across Europe from second quarter 2012, with the precise on-sale date depending on market, and will make its world premiere at Geneva International Motor Show on March 6, 2012.[Source: Kia UK]

I think its the image that makes it look a bit less attractive than other Kia offerings. The all-new cee’d looks much better than the old one, according to those people that have seen it in-person.

That’s interesting. Note how the bonnet matches with those Forte projections, along with the side mirrors from the Red Forte of 17 August. Though Forte may look different but using the same platform as c’eed.

    Waiting for jtz’s considerations…

A thought just came to my mind, just note how the grille from this 2013 c’eed is just like Kia GT (upside down H) and its front lamps have the day LEDs on the lower section of them. If you take a look on the Red Forte from Aug 17 you can notice that it had the day LEDs on the upper section of the front lamps and its grille is just like the Forte 2013 sketches (normal H).

Finally someone who has eyes just like me and comments. You are so right Ainnem. I thought it did when Kia released the cee’d's sketch a few months ago. The headlights are more aggressive than GT’s too. Ainnem that’s what I’m talking about thinking outside the box, Also Ainnem I also have a feeling that the CH’s headlights are more like this. As for the extra window after the A pillar, you can thank the Kia GT for that. This bad boy has more Kia GT than other trademarks. Its very muscular don’t you think so Ainned? The C pillar came from the Optima’s but its a hatch. In other words you Mazda fanboys don’t have to worry about Kia copying the Mazda 3′s rear pillar also found on Vibe, Rave 4, Campass and Outlander but since they aren’t Korean those rear pillars are original…. ignoring that the pillar is also on the 12′ Versa hatch.

It looks like a sports wagon. I hear the Forte will look close to this. And yet it won’t… then again it will and yet it won’t. Hey Ainnem. I bet you the K9′s grille will look like this but bigger. Keep your eyes open Ainnem because two heads are better than one. As for the GT’s front the headlights should be switched to the ceed’s. To everyone: Comparinging fronts. Which one you guys think have the best look? New Acura, Ford Focus, Jetta Corolla, Curze, Mazda 3, Sentra, Dodge Dart or Kia cee’d? My pick it’s hard between the Focus, Dart and cee’d

I just saw the new Buick Encore. All it is is a smaller trailblazer that’s easy to do. I’m glade the Naimo does not look like a small Veracruz.

The cee’d also resembles the new Kia Rio sedan & 5-door. And it’s carrying on the styling direction set by the Optima, Sportage, and Sorrento.

The car photo looks interesting…too bad the cee’d isn’t available in the US.

It’ll be interseting what the rumored 2013 Forte will look like.

ceed’s tiger nose is symetrical, must be changed , will be better if a little bit unsymetrical

Yeah jtz, in my opinion c’eed 2013 is the most good looking medium-size hatch (compact, for USA) available: its front has an horizontal “profile”, just look how the tiger nose grille is short and wide, followed by wide headlights. This is repeated in the “lower floor” for the fog lights. Also, jtz, I totally agree with you: the first thing that came to my ming after staring at this picture was Kia K9 headlamps and bold, muscular “face” and feeling from Kia GT. This newly Kia c’eed far exceeds in beauty the Hyundai’s i30 polluted front grille, and I totally hope that 2013 Forte be built over this c’eed platform.

Another tought came to me: note how Kia signature grille stands out from the most of the other brand’s grille. While everybody is using some sort of “trapezoidal” grille (like Hyundai, GM, Ford…), Kia’s “2nd generation tiger nose” is the most unique design feature of nowadays.

Will will will it looks like there is someone else out there with eagle eyes too. and speaking of the signature grille did you notice that no other brands before 2008 ever had some kind of pinch in the grille until after the 2007 Kia Kee? Think about it. All Lexus new sigature grille really is is Kia’s turned sideways. But since Lexus is not Korean it’s orginal. If Lexus had came out with some kind of design in the grille in the middle before Kia, then Kia would be the copy. And also the Kia signature grille is an inspired by Toyota too only they just have the top the grille coming down. But the 2007 when the Camry was redesigned that year, it didn’t have that until AFTER 2007 Kia Kee’s. In other words my my my how the tables have turned now it’s Toyota doing the copying.

A new thought. Kia’s signature grille helped Chrylser design their new Logo. In other words thanks Schyerer for redesigning Chryslers logo.

“A new thought. Kia’s signature grille helped Chrylser design their new Logo. In other words thanks Schyerer for redesigning Chryslers logo.” But Chrysler ain’t Korean haters are going to pretend that didn’t happen. Just like haters want to act like the 2006 Outlander, Mercedes C class and 2008 Chevy Malibu don’t have the same headlights. But the 2004 Kia Amanti couldn’t copy Merceds.

Thanks jtz for clearing up my mind about those topics concerning Lexus, Camry and Chrysler logo. I have never thought about it but now that you said it I totally agree. By the way Autocar . co . uk has just posted that: 1-”Kia is seeking to strongly differentiate the three-door Kia Procee’d from the five-door and estate models. A source at Kia confirmed the goal is to give the Procee’d a more sporting pedigree”; 2- “A hot hatch version of the Procee’d will feature the 1.6-litre engine from the forthcoming Hyundai Veloster Turbo, offering around 200bhp.”; 3 – “Kia says the five-door will be the first to go on sale in June, followed by the estate in September. The Procee’d will arrive in 2013, with the performance variant following later that year.”

I believe that Ainnem about the Proceed looking different from the hatch because the current Koup and Forte are more different in looks than the same. In addition look at K2 and Rio, Soul and Venga, these Kias are totally different designs and therefore I gotta assume that is the same for the ceed. Plus the red car from the 17th of Aug look nothing like the ceed. And the GT looks less like the K9 than the Genesis looks like 3quus. Only thing is the two cars have the same headlights. And you are right the tiger nose it stands out. You kmow what else? Did you notice once word got out that Scheryer was leaving Audi to Kia Audi has been the most copied car? Example:-) Tundra, Lancer, Sonic, DS4, MDX’s tailights, New Fusion’s greenhouse, Caddy Grilles, Hyundai, Dodge Dart. I could go on forever. Also Honda or Acura is going to release a sports coupe that ripped off R8…… bust since it’s not korean it’s original. No other brand paid attention to German designs until Kia did. Hey Ainnem can you find out if next Forte will get the 1.6l?

A bit of a let-down as Kia designs go, particularly the headlights and foglamps.

Hopefully, the procee’d gets a better treatment up front.
