Is this the all-new 2013 Kia Forte 4-door sedan? We have gotten our hands on the exclusive image that previews Kia’s next-generation C-segment sedan. Set to make its official debut in 2012, the model will replace the Forte sedan, which has been on sale in the USA since 2009.

WOW. That is beautiful. I heard that Hyundai put the axe on the NA launch of this until 2013 as a 2014.

WIN. Serious WIN. I also very much doubt Hyundai would stop this from debuting. The Elantra has had a full year, and they are going to start losing money on the current Forte – which never should have made it to the 2012 model year. Its sales are already worse than dismal. 4k sales for 3 body styles….might as well re-introduce the 1996 Sephia with a minor facelift and no radio. But in all seriousness – the car in this sketch is freaking MEAN!

We have a problem. The C pillars on this sketch looks nothing like the spy shots from Aug 17th and yet they are both Kias. Now I believe that this sketch is the Forte and not that red car covered in red. It may be somthing else. But the irony of it is that the car was tested on American soil. That red car is a Kia because the tiger grille is present. This sketch is also a Kia. I don’t even think the car being tested has been watered down neither. I think that these are two different C segment cars. Himi’s post gave me a clue into the only reason this has to be the Forrte. Three letters “USA” Did you guys noticed that “Seoul Korea” is not in his statement? Did you guys also notice Himi never posted spy shots or responded to what Left Lane News spotted on Aug 17th? I’m telling you Himi knows as much as squarehole and BD. Anyway this sketch’s greenhouse looks better than the red car from Aug 17th’s greenhouse. 11′ Optima, Kia Gt and this sketch hint Chrome from A pillar to C pillar. I wonder if that red car is a pure hybrid. It’s not this sketch that’s for damn sure.

Will neither this sketch or that red car from August 17th looks nothing like the image Kia released of the 2012 cee’d. The headlights on this and the red car doesn’t match the 2012 Ceed’s. All three cars’ grilles are different. The ceed image takes cues after the GT. So which one is the Forte? The irony of it is this image today has a similar beltline to the 2012 cee’d rendering. There are 3 Kia C segment cars with different designs.

This new Kia Forte looks great from all angles. Can’t wait ta find out more about this sporty, much better looking Forte from Kia. It’s not like the Forte design is that cloddy looking, anyway, ta me anyway. But this design rocks…I’d rather go smaller like this than get an Optima-sized car (midsize)…unless, of course, it’s the slightly smaller midsize from Suzuki called the Kizashi. That is one nice Suzuki.

Fellas, Fellas, Fellas, this is a little disappointing. Basically this is the ELANTRA only difference the Front and Rear facias are pulled from the Optima. PERIOD. There is nothing new or ground breaking here.

Now is this illustration hot? NO when you really look at it for what it is I would have to say this is a let down.

  12. Greg Says:

    December 15th, 2011 at 3:18 am

I fail to even see one similar design element between this and the Elantra. I am waiting for a loaded SX 2013 Forte. The Optima is too big, Rio and Soul are too small.

  13. jtz Says:

    December 15th, 2011 at 3:32 am

Sorry but I don’t see an elantra clone neither. Sure the Elantra and this sketch appears to have kinks in the rear pillars but so does the Kia GT and Optima. Like the Optima and GT, this also has chrome starting from the A pillar and passing the C pillar in its own unique way just like the Optima and GT. Also between the Elantra and this, the rooflines are totally different. The Elantra’s roofline is more narrow. This sketch is thinker giving off a VW CC roof line even (Schyerer did work for VW and Audi). So it makes sense why this also has a kink in the rear pillar and the Kia Cadezna also has a tiny kink in the rear pillar. In addition FRED, the 2012 generation Cee’d sketch also has a kink in the rear pillar. As a result, kinks in the rare pillar is Kia’s signature side profile. Some Kias have it (Kia GT, Optima, 2012 Cee’d, Venga and this sketch) and some don’t (K9, Rio sedan, K2). Also, the face of this looks nothing like the Optima nor the tailights. And yet like all the other Kias, they all look alike and yet don’t. In other words, this design has more Kia language than any Hyundai. Oh yeah Fred you feel to have notice that this sketch side mirrors are attached to the doors unlike the Elantra and Optima. The mirrors are like that found on the Venga, Carens, and 2012 Rio. You also said that the rear end is off the Optima? Not. Unlike the Optima dual exhaust that is located on both sides, this sketch has two exhaust pipes on the left right next to each other which isn’t on the Elantra as well.

  14. Bryan Says:

    December 15th, 2011 at 5:40 am

This new Forte design takes more cues from it’s larger brother, the Optima, than the new world order Hyundai Elantra design, Fred. It’s a Schreyer-sized, because it’s a Kia, silly nilly!

Another clue to prove it’s a Kia “Himi.” Himi been posting new future Kias since I arrived on here back in late 2005. Never have I witness Himi being wrong yet. Himi has connections. Also Himi doesn’t tell us everything until the time is right or if the spy shots are safe for him to post. Himi knew about the secrets of the K2 and Rio. He knew about the 2009 Borrego and it being the first Kia to have navigation.and if you really think of it, Himi is the only one with these sketches. I bet Himi seen spy shots of this sketch but can’t post it. Himi could have saw the Carens and the Sedona. Himi knows somthing. Somthing big, scary, groundbreaking, mean, powerful, adventurous, surprising, amazing something I don’t even know what it is yet but I will find out or my name ain’t jtz. Oh yeah I bet Himi knows what that red Kia spied back in Aug is too. Trust me. Hey Himi post some 2012 Carens spy shots I know you got them. Lol. Shhhhh Or just tell me if the next Carens looks square like the KV7 concept. This Forte looks like it can handle a 2.0L turbo at 265 hp to take on the Mazda3 and Focus. This is a Kia just like the red car back in Aug is also a Kia. I’m gonna find out what that car is my name ain’t………

  16. jtz Says:

    December 15th, 2011 at 6:42 am

Kia Optima, Kia GT and This sketch hint side profiles. Kia Sorento and this Forte sketch hint headlights. Kia Optima and this sketch hint taillights (with some 2011 VW Jetta but Scheryer came from VW so….). Now Fred what Hyundai elements do you see? I’ll tell you nothing, nada. Hyundai doesn’t even use exterior mirrors on the door to give the greenhouse an extra window after the A pillar. The 2012 cee’d sketch, 2013 Forte sketch, Kia Venga, that red car back in Aug 17th, Carens all have tiny windows after the A pillar..

  17. jtz Says:

    December 15th, 2011 at 6:44 am

Also add the 2012 Rio and Kia GT with tiny windows after the A pillar as well. Six Kias built like that to Hyundai’s Zero.

A new thought just came to mind about the red car from August 17th. What if that car is the Kia K3 and this sketch is the Forte? What if Kia has made two C segment sedans one for USA and another for somewhere else? After all didn’t they do that with the Rio and K2? Interesting. But isn’t that pretty expensive for Kia to do as well make 2 different vehicles off the same platform compared to just renaming it in different areas on earth? Hmmm, something is fishy with this sketch and that red sedan and I’m going to find out or my name ain’t jtz. The only way I can find out if I were to see spy shots of this sketch Himi put up. It would answer tons of questions. And trust me that red sedan is not a watered down version of this sketch. After all is the Sportage’s C pillars different from the Kia Kue concept? Is the Sorento’s C pillars different from the KND-4 concept? Is the Kia Cadenza’s C pillars different from the KND-5 Concept? Is the Soul watered down from the 2006 Soul concept? Nope. Therefore I gotta assume that this sketch and the red sedan are totally two different cars but are C segment Kias. I’m jtz designs tell it ALLLLLLLLLLLLL. Trust me.

Another new thought just came to mind. What if Kia decided to differ the Forte and Cerato? What if the Cerato will no longer be a renamed Forte in other markets? I bet you the red car is either Cerato or K3. But which one?

Himi in a way makes it seem as if this sketch may not be called Forte. Did you noticed the word “Replace” in his sentence? Now would redesign be the word to expect first? That makes me wonder if the Forte name will be changed. Himi never officially called it Forte but a C segment car to replace the Forte. He said the the Forte debuted in the USA in 09′. Noticed he only focused on the USA ignoring Korea, Europe, China and S. America. The irony of it Himi knows S. Korea receives everything first but the US was what he was talking about. What else is strange is why was that red car back on the 17th of August doing in the USA? He never called this sketch “Forte.”

I hope the week before New Year’s Kia release some real teasers unveiling the Kia badge and a tailight, headlight and a tiny bit of the side profile. After all Dodge didn’t give us a sketch they gave us a few good teasers. Dodge and Kia are direct rivals both aiming for youth and sporty cars. Kia’s Forte better not let the Dart pass it up in sales. So bring it on Dodge!!! The Forte is ready to whip some Ram a**.

A new thought came to mind. “2012 Cee’d” Now cee’d spy shots been available since spring right? Did you notice just like the red sedan from Aug 17th, Himi didn’t add the cee’d spied on here too? Why? I can’t tell you why but can only guess. What if the cee’d is getting a sedan? What if that’s it? Think about it: When looking at the next cee’d and the red car from the 17th of Aug side profile what do you see in common? I’ll tell you the extra window after the A pillar. As a result it could be possible that Kia decided to make a cee’d version. Now before you say, “yeah but the red sedan was spotted in S. Korea and the United States” True it was. However back in 2005 when the 1st generation cee’d was on spy shots it was also being tested on US soil as well. As a result that doesn’t prove anything. Infact the Cadezna was spotted in L.A. before and is it here? No. Therefore that increases the chance that the red car could be for another market and not for here. Kia is up to something, something different, someting powerful, something sporty, something grounbreaking, something that will out perform that Dodge Dart with the 9 speed auto transmission, something I don’t even know what it is yet….. but I will find out or my new name ain’t Detective jtz.

This design looks better than Hyundai’s current Sonata with its Joker-grin-like grill that is so ugly (the previous model was better looking, and just needed a few touches). Also the present Elantra looks like a Bug with those bulging front light and mouth-like grill. Both Sonata and Elantra need a careful and more conservative Redesign. I think the present Kia Forte and Optimas look Good. The 2013 design is a wise, not radical, change.

  28. Bryan Says:

    December 20th, 2011 at 8:34 am

Agree, GeorgeLC, with your assessment of the nasty Sonata and Elantra…I spouted my views on the nasty Sonata on Edmunds.com’s ‘Midsize Sedans Thread’ and espoused instead the beautiful Suzuki Kizashi. For that matter the new world order Kia Optima I praised, too, and man did those dorks have a thrombo over there! I really started pissing them off because I wouldn’t shut up about how good a rig the new Kizashi from Suzuki is. Repetition times 20 and well…you get the point!

  29. BernardP Says:

    December 20th, 2011 at 6:42 pm

    The timing seems wrong.

Here in North America, the Forte was released as a 2010 model. This would mean that an all-new Forte would be released after only 3 model-years? Hard to believe.

Normally, we should be expecting a *facelifted* model for 2013, not an all-new model.

  30. Greg Says:

    December 20th, 2011 at 9:44 pm

@BernardP, the current Forte has been such a bomb, they are giving up and putting it on the new Elantra’s platform. There is no “facelifting” it, it was Kia’s biggest flop in all of their “design-led transformation”. Take it off of life support and put it out of its misery. If they sold the Borrego as a 2012 it would probably outsell the Forte.

  31. jtz Says:

    December 21st, 2011 at 3:16 am

Yeah just like Kia needs to get rid of that big stupid slow Sedona you drive. It’s the worst van in its class. I bet the Borrego would outsell that dumb van. I can’t wait to that great bastered of a van turns into the KV7. At least we see sketches and spy shots of my car’s next generation. Where’s Sedona’s? Hell they might not even be another generation Sedona. Mini vans are slow and stupid anyway. That’s why Chryler is axing the Caravan and not the Durango because demand for crossovers are greater.

  32. jtz Says:

    December 21st, 2011 at 3:23 pm

And the timing is not wrong. The Forte needs a redesign to tackle that Dart. It can’t do jack s**t on this old Elantra plantform. Plus the Rio has more features and better quailty than the Forte such as a heated steering wheel, UVO, HD radio, mpg up to 40mpg, rear view camera and looks better in hatch form. So why buy a Forte when you can get a Rio for less with more features. Just like why buy a dumb, slow accelerating ugly Sedona when you can get a Sorento? The Kia linup is also the reason why the dumb, ugly, slow accelerating Sedona and smart, fast accelrating Forte needs to be redesigned and quick. Though, I wouln’t miss it if Kia killed the stupid, ugly looking Sedona. Kia doesn’t need it. Now the KV7 is what Kia needs to tackle that Ford Flex. Love that van love it. Why is it that I hate stupid, dumb slow acclerating minivans but Kia was able to make a van that I like and want in the line up? I hate all mini vans. Why buy a Sienna when you can get a Highlander? Why buy an Odessey when you can get the Pilot? Why buy the Caravan when you can get the Durango? Minivans are ugly, big, stupid, slow to acclerate and useless. Kia KV7 is the van for Kia.

  33. jtz Says:

    December 21st, 2011 at 3:26 pm

It always seems no matter how much horsepower is in a minivan, they still are ugly, big, stupid, and slow. But when more hp is installed the next Forte it’ll be faster. So bring it on Greg. My Forte would dog your girly sedona anyday of the week. My forte is so fast that it out acclerates any van with my eco light on green.

  34. Greg Says:

    December 21st, 2011 at 10:08 pm

I will race you any day of the week. I know for a fact the Sedona accelerates faster than the Forte…while carrying 7 people. I can go from 0-125 in 35 seconds The Forte won’t go that fast because it is limited to 120 MPH. I have a picture of my Sedona going 124 – and it felt like I was only going 80. I linked the picture…. Beyond that…..yeah, the Borrego outsold the Sedona. Minivans have their purpose, I use mine for a delivery vehicle. The Borrego sits up too high, and the Sorento doesn’t have captains chairs in the second row. Therefore, the Sedona is the only option I have from Kia.

  35. jtz Says:

    December 21st, 2011 at 11:10 pm

Please, that big heavy van couldn’t out accelerate my Forte 2.4L I4 173 hp. I don’t give a rats behind if that big slow moving Sedona does have a 3.8L 255 horsepower. When turning sharp corners you are forced to slow down because minivans ain’t made for handling sharp corners since they are so big and stupid looking. So I’ll easily catch up to you…. unless it is you ain’t scared to tip over. Mini vans are clumsy and stupid. And what you need captains chairs in the second row for? It ain’t like you can drive and enjoy the seats at the same time anyway. The Sorento don’t need any captains chairs. It’s a CUV made for limited off road 4WD and style that’s why it was the first Kia to breach the 10,000 unit mark the Forte highest sales reached over 8,000 units unlike your slow, stupid, big, ugly Sedona. It’s not even Kia’s top 5 best seller globally. Kia can kill that bastered of a vehicle.

  36. jtz Says:

    December 21st, 2011 at 11:12 pm

Oh, and the Sportage and Sorento would out due your Sedona on an off road challenge. The Sedona is too soft to handle off road. It may get stuck in the mud or slip off a really steep hill. P.S. you can make deliveries in the Sorento too.

  37. jtz Says:

    December 22nd, 2011 at 3:58 pm

As for the Borrego outselling the 1st generation Forte, in your dreams. The Borrgeo would outsell the Sedona though. Speaking of Borrego, I see Nissan plans on unveiling anther generation Pathfinder. It is expected to be a CUV this time like the Explorer and the Grand Cherokee. I was wondering if all these bof are being turned into CUVs, I wonder if Kia was thinking about a premium midsize CUV to tackle these other CUVs. But Kia and Hyundai fall very very short on premium midsize CUVs. Kia and Hyundai are going to have to figure out what really makes a midsize CUV sell. The Explorer, Grand Cherokee and Pathfinder have reputations but neither the Veracruz or Borrego really stood out compared to other vehicles. Therefore, it wouldn’t hurt neither the Veracruz or Borrego if they got a complete name change. If Hyundai wants to be top 5 globally its going to need a premium midsize crossover and whip some a**. It is going to have to figure out how to tacke some Explorer and Grand Cherokee sales away. That market for Hyundai is going to be be very tough since people who buy CUVs big like that expect it to be expensive. So Kia and Hyundai is going to have to consider grounbreaking features. The 1st in its class with some new features that will get some customers and make the CUV bigger than the Sorento reach 5000 units. So my guess is make it a full electric CUV or hybrid something like that. Sure it will be expensive to make, but Americans would buy it……. trust me. But then again the Naimo would be a great electric vehicle for me. I really love that littel CUV. Different and I can already picture of what it is supposed to really look like in production.

Oh. Nothing new about this sketch huh. Too bad, I could have more new thoughts if Kia released a teasr of a headlight, tailight or its greenhouse. What’s interesting is I suck in designs of interiors….. I’m much better at exteriors of cars.

  39. Bryan Says:

I don’t know, jtz, maybe Kia should reconsider a body on platform small and a bit larger SUV. Our ’01 Kia Sportage 4X4 was really a tiger in the offroading. Even without the 4WD turned on I could motor up Washington state logging roads on top of the ruts! The Sportsman got me out of several icy jams in Missouri and in Idaho, too, when I pulled the knob and engaged the hubs. Kia can do rugged…the Sportage is the SUV the Korean military uses FWIW, too. Corporate just needs strong yearning from fans and it will put the idea on their foreheads to consider while mashing through their designing chores of several flavors and generations.

  40. Greg Says:

    December 23rd, 2011 at 3:45 pm

Captains chairs make installing car seats tons easier. Not only that, but they come all the way out to increase cargo capacity. I could never haul everything I need in a Sorento – even with the Seats folded down. I have used my aunt’s Borrego, but it is simply too tall. Before you go bashing the Sedona’s cornering, I can easily take a 40 MPH corner at 75 MPH. If you haven’t noticed, I continually bash the Sedona’s outdatedness. However, the Sedona is not nearly Kia’s most important segment. The C-segment is the most important car market in the USA, and Kia can’t relax for 5 minutes. The minivan market is lukewarm, as minivans are purpose-built, purpose-bought vehicles. Kia should be ashamed that the Sorento is their best-selling vehicle. Sedans are typical best sellers, and C & D segment cars are the most important in terms of sales. Kia has hit a home run in the D-segment, but they are having a hard time making first base in the C-segment. Why would you buy a Forte at 36 MPG when you can have an Elantra at 40 MPG? Why would you buy a Forte over a Focus or a Mazda3? You can easily get more features and more MPG in those cars for the same price. The only thing keeping Sedona sales alive is that it is $10k cheaper than a Sienna or Odyssey.

Greg and jtz, good lively discussion. You’re right Greg, Kia needs to really work on the compact design for the Forte, and get the car out really soon. There is so much love being spread for the Elantra and for the Ford Focus right now that Kia and their Forte are being left out. Not entirely, but Kia really needs to work that design up and over what they have. I just popped the design above on to my desktop background so I can study and enjoy it for a while. Kia is really on the upswing so we’re not in panic mode over this with lots of excitement going on still, including the hot and beautiful new GT coming up. I can’t wait for that car to come out. But if you study the design above, that one is close to what they need for Forte. We don’t know for sure it’s the ’13 Forte design but it gives us an idea of what they’re working on for now.

To tell you the truth Greg is cool with me. I just like arguing with him with my outdated Kia vs his. No hard feelings right. Guess what. I read that Kia is thinking of not only debuting the GT Sedan but also a coupe and wagon. You know what that means? Get ready Challenger, Charger and deceased Magnum. Also Dodge is releasing a D segment car called Hornet. Kia BET not let THAT Dodge outsell the Optima. And as much as I hate Vans and the market is declining a KV7 is needed. I have a gut feeling that Dodge is targeting the Ford Flex. Kia can tackle Dodge and Fiat. Also I hear the next Altima is supposed to be a head turner. Off topic:-) 2012 Accord, 2012 Camry, Subaru Outback, Volvoo S60 hint tailights also add the Acura TL’s rainbow designed tailights as well. Those Japenese cars are such copies. Too bad those Toyota fanboys are blind.

Guess what? I saw the 2013 Lexus Is. Lets just say that its no longer original. Also Lexus new signature grille is Kia’s tiger grille turned sideways. Are the Japense copying the Koreans, now? But since Lexus is not Korean its original. The new Lexus IS still has the slanted C piller like 20 other sedans including the Taurus, and CTS but it sure ain’t grounbreaking anymore. Toyota is rushing their designs trying to keep up with Hyundai and Kia arriving with head turning designs after a 4 year release of the previous model. p.s. I hear Toyota bought some Velosters to take back to their R&D to reverse engineer for Sciom. I also here that Honda bought some Sorentos for the Pilot. And last but night least Toyota is supposed to have bought some 2012 Rios. They are waiting for the release of the stop n go technology from Korea. That’s why Toyota opened up a plant in Seoul Korea.

The new Dodge Dart design is going to be a very important car for Dodge and Chrysler, because that size slot is such a hot commodity. Chrysler can not let Ford with their Focus and Hyundai with their Elantra take so much of a share of these sales from them. Although my favorite is the Lancer and I have one, obviously Mitsu is not what Chrysler needs to worry about. What does Chevy offer in this slot…the Cruze…yeah, but the Cruze is more midsize-sized but probably the competition here for Ford and Hyundai and everybody else presenting a compact-sized offering to the market. The new Dodge Dart might just fit the bill for Chrysler, with it’s Alfa Romeo underpinnings and Fiat MultiAir Turbo I-4. Don’t know how the overall design looks but they’ll be at Detroit in Jan.2012 showing it to the world…we won’t have long to wait.

A new thought came to mind about the Forte sketch. Remember the question “which car is the Forte?” Will I am 80% sure that the Kia from Aug 17th is not the Forte. Here is why:-) Take a look at the current Forte, the red Kia from August and this sketche’s headlights. When looking at the three cars, which headlights looks more like the current Forte’s headlights? Answer:-) the sketch. Also between the 2010 Optima and 11″ doesn’t the current Optima’s headlights look like an evolved version of the 2010? Therefore I gotta assume that the sketch Himi put up is indeed the next Forte . Also when looking at the Forte Koup you can see the Forte design was created to be aggressive. The body of the current Forte is edgy. The body of the car from the 17th of August is less edgy but the sketch is indeed edgy and aggressive. This is why I’m 80% sure the sketch is the Forte. Now if Kia can release a tiny teaser. If they did I can tell you a lot about the design or my name ain’t jtz.

Hey Greg and Bryan. I found something. Something big about Kia, something surprising, something I never even knew yet. Do you guys wanna know? Let me know. I’ll even have a hyperlink up for you to read for yourself. YOU GUYS WILL BE SHOCKED!!! Though I just hope gas prices doesn’t cancel out Kia’s plan. I’m a little worried about a lot of what I read. But I’m also glad then again I’m worried and yet I’m not…… and yet I am.

Yeah Greg thekoreancarblog. Hyundai/kia’s line up to 2015. So Greg did you notice the Cadenza’s facelift wasn’t listed but a redesigned model was for 2014? Makes me wonder and assume they should give us the next generation model. And a redesigned Borrego? Wow. That is what I’m afraid of having a next Sedona, Borrego and large CUV with gas prices expected to reach $5 a gallon by 2015. Oh well. And what class would the Borrego be in then?. I really hope Kia ain’t thinking about the Tahoe’s class. No way. Scary ain’t it?

  52. Greg Says:

I want some sort of verification before I believe everything on that list. Kind of like Wikipedia – check the sources. If it really is true, and not just speculation, I’m sure Kia will be able to make it work with three larger vehicles. I have a list of speculated engines in use by 2015, and the Sedona has a turbo-4 and a 3.3L GDI

Unrelated: I bought a second Sedona. I now am the owner of TWO 2006 Kia Sedonas. The new one is just an LX, but I almost stole it for what I paid. It is in PERFECT condition inside and out!! Only 199,500 miles!

Ainnem I was wondering the same thing. I hope that B segment CUV looks like the Naimo. I want its exterior to be titanium, black or dark blue. I want heated seats, rear view camera. At least 175hp. Turbo. Also I want a heated steering wheel. Also its got to whip Greg’s new Sedona in racing. Lol. If it looks like the Neimo concept I’m buying it!!!!

  59. Corwin Says:

    December 29th, 2011 at 7:07 am

I like your predictions JTZ, U agree with you 95% (and I know they are just predictions……but I bet the new rond will get the same engine as current Optima (2.4 L GDI) other than that that is the same thing I was thinking.

  60. jtz Says:

    December 29th, 2011 at 3:49 pm

Also I gotta assume because the Optima’s V6 was deleted the Rondo must have an available 2.0L Turbo for the SX. This is why the Optima doesn’t need a wagon version because the Rondo and Optima pretty much are in the same class. As for the tiny B segment CUV. Kia has got to give the little ute stop and go like the Rio. Kia also needs a bigger electric vehicle in the B segment category. They will need to decide if the B segment AWD or Soul gets the electric technology (hell both if it’s not too expensive for Kia to produce). If Kia really wants to sell at least 7500 electric vehicles a month, they would have a better chance at putting in that type of technology in the next Soul rather than using it in the small CUV AWD. However, if the small CUV is as stylish as the Naimo it could sell as well as the Soul By the time the next Soul arrives I can assume it will break the 15,000 unit mark a month in the states and be the top ten best selling cars (since it’s not regonized as top ten best selling SUVS). I”m also beginning to wonder if that red car from the 17th of August is the Kia Ray concept in sedan form.

  61. jtz Says:

    December 29th, 2011 at 3:55 pm

One last final thing: That sketch’s side profile is very very close to a Kia concept. This concept is no other than the Kia Ray’s side. The roofline, the way the A pillars are including the kink in the rear. I’m really got to assume that the Ray concept’s technology is coming to production. To everyone. On the side profile of this sketch, look at the outline of the entire rear door and tell me it doesn’t match the Ray 4 door coupe’s?

  62. jtz Says:

    December 29th, 2011 at 4:02 pm

One last thing. Sides: 11′ Optima, Kia GT, Kia Ray concpet and this sketch hint kinks in the Rare pillar. Kia is up to something, something big, something scary, something aggressive, something sporty, something, I don’t know what it is yet but I will find out or my name ain’t jtz. P.S. the Borrego also has a Kink in the side. But I’ll ax that out since its a utility vehicle. I’ll just foucs on these 4 sedans for now. Kia is coming up with a signature side profile.

Nevermind Greg It worked. Just paste first and remove Dot with . later. Anyway. I agree with you on the Borrego being the large CUV and not totally two CUVS Kia doesn’t need to compete with Tahoe sized SUVs a dying segment.

They already talked about a B segment AWD CUV. http(colon)//rumors(dot)automobilemag.com/kia-considering-roadster-model-awd-soul-report-36503.html Plus Himi a long time ago also talked about an AWD B segment CUV (pay close attention to Himi he gives out clues in a lot of his commets that’s probably why he doesn’t respond as much because I can spot some clues he never knew he posted!!!)

Don’t forget the GT could be in coupe, wagon and sedan form.

  66. jtz Says:

    December 30th, 2011 at 3:57 pm

Also it’s something fishy about the K9 and the red car from the 17th of August. They share the same greenhouse. But what’s fishy is why would Kia’s GT get the Optima’s C striking C pilllar while the red car from the 17th of Aug and the CH would just get your classic BMW B series type greenhouses? If the striking C pillar treatment is different and stylish wouldn’t Kia have also made it for the CH and the red car? Also what do you guys think the mystery car from the 17th of August is? I wanna know what you guys think so I can come up with more possiblities. I need more of you to think OUTSIDE the box. Two heads are better than one. Hey Himi, I wanna know what you think as well about the red car from the 17th of August. So far I think that car is a Prius rival.

  67. jtz Says:

    December 30th, 2011 at 4:03 pm

You guys remember about 2 years ago Kia relased a LPI Forte concept? What if Kia decided to seperate the LPI HYBRID as its own car just like the Prius? Think about it: The Prius is on the Corolla platform. That red car from the 17th of August shares the same platform with cee’d and Forte (how I know? Will it’s cheaper to build a different model and share the same platform). So it’s gotta be a Prius rival. It’s not a cee’d sedan.

Its amazing how our hearts has pumped blood in our bodies for another 365 days. Its amazing how no matter how much gas prices and inflation keeps rising people are still able to eat and drink to continue on living. Its amazing how people in developing countries made it to 2012 even if they live with limited means. Its amazing how someone is going to give birth this year because the mother ate for the baby so that the child can be born in 2012. Its amazing how people can come from nothing to something. Years ago we humans used to have simple lives. No real education and technology. That we can still type, walk, and still able to get our source of food to survuve another year. Regardless what happens the next time earth goes around the sun,I hope you guys have a good year and many many more. From your boy jtz. This year could be bad, good, impressive, scary or evil. Hmmmmmmm. This is Kia’s first time in history to never release a teaser of what they plan to unveil at the NAIAS. Think about it: in December 2005 Kia showed us the Mesa sketch. A year later they showed us the Soul. After that was the KUE sketch. After that was the Soul’ster. After that was UVO and after that was the KV7. Unless this sketch Himi posted is the next sketch. But no teaser of it or the Kia GT coupe? Hmmmmm interesting. I really wish we had more than just a sketch of this car. I need a spy shot or teaser. But Korean spy shots are the hardest to find. Why? I’ll tell you why. Remember when some damn Chinese manufacturer tried to steal information for the HM and Sorento? Ever since then H/K has really be careful of being caught by photos (especially Kia). Kia has one interesting line up. Rio, Soul, Venga and K2 all different designs sharing the same platform. I just gotta know what that red car and this sketch is. The best of my knowledge is the red car is for China. Im also beginning to really wonder if the name “Forte” is being changed. What else is strange is blogs and other sites like Left Lane has both the red car and the sketch and is acting as they don’t see the differance between the two. That goes for Motortrend, Accentplanet Kia world and the Korean car blog as well. These sites would either have both photos or just the sketch and calling both designs Forte and ignoring the two different greenhouses. But why?

It´s from a brazilian Car and Driver magazine from last novembrer. It shows a Forte projection. Now if you take a close look to this new projection that jtz posted here yesterday it has an watermark from Auto Esporte, another brazilian magazine. I use to buy them both (I’m brazilian). Please remember that the first worldwide pictore scoop of Kia Picanto happened here in Brazil, weeks before that TV commercial recordings leak.

  79. Ainnem Says:

    January 4th, 2012 at 10:37 pm

Oh, I had forgotten: if you pay a close look to one of the pictures I have taken above you can see the tip of the Forte’s interior. I forgot to include it on the picture, but it is the same that the Koreancarblog shows. So I can conclude that the brazilian Car and Driver november edition had it all right.

Thank you Ainnem from Brazil. Now I can continue to go on. The tailights came from the Kia GT. Just look at thouse aggressive edgy like tailights resembling a rainbow like profile. Also the Headlights came from the KIA KND-5

Sorry that is not a photo scoop but a render (with lots of flaws…)

  83. jtz Says:

    January 5th, 2012 at 5:07 am

This is very interesting. Notice Ainnem states this was on a magazine from November. If Kia put this on a book, for people to see, why is it not all over the internet? All the internet has is the red car from the 17th of Aug and tons of photoshops. It doesn’t make any sense. Why and how could this car be available to see on a magazine in Brazil and not be on motortrend, autospies, koreancarblog, Edmunds, kia-world, accentplanet, and even kia-buzz. Hell even koreanbeast.com didn’t achieve this and they have the latestest and best photos for Korean cars. So why is that? That is very very ironic. And Brazil is an eme rging or developed country now. As a result it would be understandable if this was in a developing country. But it wasn’t. BRIC stands for Brazil, Russia, India and China. That proves that anything unveiled in Brazil would be unveiled nationwide. Ainnem isn’t playing games because he said he enjoyed me in my interesting wonders. Remember he said he/she was a Kia fan? Therefore I gotta assume that this magazine escaped and got away from Kia without them knowing. Because Kia would have shown it on Kia-buzz first.

  84. jtz Says:

    January 5th, 2012 at 5:27 am

Then again maybe Kia secretly released it back in November. After all we do have a good interior shot. But I suck at car interiors. Exteriors of cars are my forte. But why a magazine?

  85. Bryan Says:

    January 5th, 2012 at 11:51 am

Def a Chevy Cruze hindquarters, that’s hilarious, jtz, your comment about the Mazda and Chevy Cruze having sex and this rendering being their love child. It is a new design, or photochopped from who-knows-what-two or three rigs together. Interesting…jtz and Greg, are you thinking this is the 2013 Kia Forte sedan? It looks more subcompact-sized (Rio) than Forte-sized (compact).

  86. Corwin Says:

    January 5th, 2012 at 9:45 pm

hmmmmm. I have been thinking a lot about this one and if it is in fact the forte. I believe (and could be wrong) …..likely wrong…..but I think that they are both the forte, and hear me out. When you google 2013 kia forte or 2013 kia cerato, it comes up with a few cars a white and a red (Brenda Priddy). they are the same car. That car has been undergoing test in NA which I would think that that is the forte for NA. Also this car has some similarities (the greenhouse, side window surround except the back, low hood high trunk, large signature grill) I think that this maybe the difference between a mazda 3 and a mazda speed3. I think this may be the upper level turbo model, and the other spy shots are more of the generic forte. Just my thoughts.

  87. Detective jtz Says:

    January 6th, 2012 at 6:52 am

What do you guys think Kia is going to unveil at the NAIAS? Maybe it’s on it’s wayto Detroit on a 18 wheeler truck from Irvine Cal? Maybe it’s inside the truck locked in secured underneath a black sheet next to the 2012 Optima? If it’s on the highway maybe it’s in Iowa? Maybe Missuri? Or Kansas? Maybe it just bypassed Denver? I wonder if the driver is a man or a woman? I wonder if the driver ate at “In ANd Out Burger?” maybe the driver went to El Pollo Local? Kia is up to something. Somthing secret, surprizing, impressive, stylish, eye catching, powerful, sporty, scary, unexpected. Something I don’t even know what it is yet…… But I will find out in four days or my name ain’t jtz.

  88. Fred "theflo" Oliver Says:

  89. Greg Says:

    January 6th, 2012 at 6:15 pm

jtz, you are going to LOVE this! I was down in the Ann Arbor area yesterday, and I saw a convoy of test mules on the I-94 freeway. From what I could gather, they were Rondos and Sedonas!!! There were five of them, going the opposite direction. Three Rondo-sized, two Sedona sized. I tried to get a pic with my cell, but it didn’t turn out :(
    -
They all had a tiger nose grille (that’s how I know the smaller one wasn’t Santa Fe), and they had a somewhat boxy rear end. The rear ends were extremely camouflaged, though – and at 75 MPH weren’t too easy to get a good look at.
Some other interesting sightings were a Ford Focus with heavy camouflage on the front end along with the global 2013 Ranger, which had camo on the front end and was missing its rear bumper. Those were on Sibley Rd near Telegraph. On I-96 to the east of Lansing, I saw an Elantra 2-door with super-heavy camo on the front end, but an uncovered rear end. It was quite the day for test mule sightings!!! Seeing a test mule in person is always so exciting!

  90. Greg Says:

    January 6th, 2012 at 6:20 pm

Oh yeah!! I also saw two 2013 Ford Tauruses (with the big grille openings) heading West on I-94 on a flat-bed semi trailer. Following that were three 2013 Escapes. ALL of those were uncovered. Where were they going heading west? Also, when I was at the Chicago Auto last year, I asked how the cars got there. I was told they are brought there on a standard car carrier. Even the debut models are, they are just covered for transport.

  91. jtz Says:

    January 7th, 2012 at 4:40 pm

Sweet. Next generation Rondo and Sedona are being tested on US soil. Good news. I hate you wasn’t able to get a pic. But you didn’t expect it. Good eye to witness the tiger noses on both mpvs too btw. Do you remember if the Sedona was about the size of the KV7?

  92. Greg Says:

    January 7th, 2012 at 5:13 pm

It was KV7-looking, but significantly taller. The Rondo-sized one was closer to the height of the KV7. About as tall as the Optima.

  93. jtz Says:

    January 7th, 2012 at 11:49 pm

Thanks Greg you’re a pal. Interesting. Two mpvs taking after the same Kia concept. So it turns out the KV7 was a desgn direction for Kia’s next mpvs. One more question Greg. When looking at the next Sedona’s size, is it the size of the traditional minivan or is it a Ford Flex size? Also in length of the Rondo did it appear the size of the Flex? Could you make out any of the C pillars? Was the Rondo’s outer mirrors located on the door or window? Also were you able to make out if the two mpvs headlights were horizantal or vertical? Last, did it look as if the Rondo had sliding doors? So as you can see Kia Ray, Soul, Naimo next Rondo and Sedona are square like. Why you ask? Because of the KV7. Square like crossovers and mpvs gives the designer more freedom. For example why is it that the Kia soul won design awards and is original looking even if it is boxy like the H2, Element, XB, and even Land Rover. As a result I wouldn’t be surprised if the next Rondo was a headturner. In fact I do believe that me and the next Sedona will finally come to terms. After all I admit I’m a minivan hater. Yet Kia’s KV7 was the first van in history that actually made me think different about the next Sedona. Kia is up to something, something bad, sneaky, powerful, stylish, impressive, earth shattering, something I don’t even know what it is yet……. but I will find out or my name ain’t jtz.

Off topic. Tundra, Lancer, VW Iroc Citreion DS4, Chevy Sonic and Dodge Dart hint grilles. Also the side of the Dart copied the 2008 Elantras with the 2004 Legacy’s C pillars. But since its not Korean its original.

I didn’t see long enough to answer most of your questions The Rondo-looking one was about as tall as a Flex, but not as long, and the Sedona one was about as long as a Flex, but much taller. On a side note, the refreshed Flex is actually uglier than before (I didn’t think it was possible, but then again, I didn’t think the MKT could get uglier either. The only nice looking car they had, the MKS, got a royal screwing for 2013)

Greg you gave me two clues and it’s this: “The Rondo-looking one was about as tall as a Flex, but not as long, and the Sedona one was about as long as a Flex, but much taller.” So the Rondo appeared as tall as the Flex but not as long huh? You know what that means? It means the Rondo is not taking the KV7′s place. Think about it. Didn’t the KV7 concept appear as long as the Flex? Heck it was even longer than the Kia Sorento. So we now know that the KV7 is not the next Rondo. Now for the Sedona. So the Sedona is about as long as the Flex. Interesting. Now isn’t the Flex’s length a little shorter than the Odessey, Sienna and Town N’ Country? Therfore, I gotta assume that the inside of the next Sedona isn’t like a tradition minivan. Greg said the Sedona appeard boxy. Boxy like KV7. Hmmm, I just wish I knew one thing and it’s this: Is the Sedona’s headlights horizantal or vertical? Kia is up to something. I can tell. This is the first time they won’t unveil somthing at the NAIAS. Why? I’ll tell you what I think. Kia has something suprising, sneaky, headturning, big, powerful, stylish, sporty, something they want to wait later on in the year to unveil. Somthing I don’t even know what it is yet………..but I will find out or my three letter name ain’t jtz.

Also, can’t you guys sense the next Forte and cee’d is going to be the best in their class. I can tell by the way Kia is hiding them. Kia is really up to something with the next C segment cars: cee’d, cee’d station wagon, 3 door, Forte sedan, hatch and koup. But I just got a strange feeling that Kia may have a B or C segment electric CUV.

Acura is arriving with a C segment car. Its nice too. I really like the back end. Can the next Forte be able to gain the lead in this tough segment? The Forte has Acura and Dodge to tackle when it arrives. Oh yeah the C pillar has a kink in it like the Grand Prix, Dodge Charger, Adventure, and IS but only the Optima’s C pillar was the copy since its Korean. At least the Kia is the only one with chrome going through the C pillar. Bring it on Acura the Forte and Cee’d will be ready to whip some ass. Bring Dodge, Chevy, Huh a and Nissan. The Forte will be ready to beat some ass. The next koup and Proceed will be ready too. This time there can be no mistakes. The Forte will be ready to tackle anything from performance, MPG, quality, and even looks. So bring it on Acura and Dodge. Dodge better be lucky Kia ain’t unveiling nothing in Detroit. That’s fine. Its gonna be this year that’s all that matters. You can tell Kia is hiding something. Something mean, scary, big, groundbreaking, powerful. The product maybe in a room in front of computers. Maybe the computers are learning how to to put the products to gather and carry the information to the plants. Maybe the Kia has got to get painted. Maybe Kia has to finish putting to gather new technology. It could be sitting right between the Sedona, Forte and Rondo. I bet the Kia employees have on white coats working right now. Yeah they have on big white coats with clip boards examining every angle on this Kia. Maybe they have to make sure the headlights are even. Maybe they have to work on the C pillar. Maybe not. Maybe Kia decided it was just to damn early in the year for the Kia to be unveiled. I wonder if BD has witnessed the Kia. Maybe not. Kia is up to something and I will find out or my name ain’t jtz.

And I’ll be here to read your input or my name ain’t Bryan. And the 2013 Dodge Dart will sell like hotcakes, especially when people find out they can get a 1.4L MultiAire Turbo as one of the three engines Mopar will offer for the latest Dart. Kia ought ta be makin’ the new world order compact segment Forte especially appealing to compete with the Dart and Elantra, let them take their time, the new Forte must be a great design, exterior and interior. I’m not such an interior freak…I keep reading that people find the ’08 Lancer GTS model I have, and the EVO 10′s interior, all interiors for those Lancer’s and those EVO’s are “hard and boring looking.” OK fine. Don’t care, don’t get it…hello? I don’t buy a car for it’s interior, dorks! I buy it for the exterior design! And the solid powertrain is very important, too, of course! Also, Mitsu, like Kia and Hyundai, all offer the great 10 year and 100,000 mile Warranty on the powertrain, original owner only. Mitsu offers it like HyunKia, because CEO Finbarr O’ Neil left Hyundai to go to Mitsubishi in the mid-2000′s and was smart to bring the Long Haul-type Warranty over with him. Smart move. Mitsu sales are just starting, as of about mid-2011, to move upward. The American people are VERY, VERY slow to catch on to good automotive trends. Once they do, the trends tend to go on for a while. I find it fascinating, and love to keep studying it all. Carry on, fellow car nuts.

Hey, any news about this? I want to change my car for a Cerato this year and I’m wondering if Kia will be releasing this model in 2012 or not. If not I may something horrible, totally negligible, unforgivable and reprehensible. I may buy a Elantra.
Please, help me out here. Thanks.
