Here is your first chance to see the new face of the next-generation Kia cee’d!

Following on from the all-new Rio sub-compact car, the South Korean second largest carmaker is readying a fully-revised version of its top-selling car in the European market.

Expected to make its official public premiere at the 2012 Geneva Auto Show, the all-new Kia cee’d will boast stronger personality and more muscular stance than the current car which make us thinking the South Korean carmaker will be aiming the new cee’d at a younger audience.

Kia has yet to provide more details on the new model’s exterior lay-out, but it is likely that the next-generation cee’d will follow in the footsteps of the new Rio hatchback, bringing a more sporting face and coupe-like profile to the C segment.

So far, nothing has been confirmed about the range of engines available, but expect the next-generation cee’d to offer a mix of highly-efficient gasoline and diesel units providing segment-leading fuel efficiency and low CO2 outputs.

To spice things up, Kia bosses are also planning to release a hot version of the next-generation cee’d hatchback in order to compete against the upcoming VW GTi VII, Opel Astra VXR and Ford Focus RS. The hot hatch will, reportedly, be based on the 3-door Kia pro_cee’d which will be propelled by the all-new 1.6L GDI turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 250 horsepower! Kia’s first-ever hot hatch is expected to go on sale in the second half of 2012!

The all-new cee’d compact car will be assembled at Kia’s European manufacturing plant in Slovakia. [Source: car shipping companies blog]

    Very good news, indeed!
Only strange thing is: “based on the 3-door Kia pro_cee’d”, together with “expected to go on sale in the second half of 2012″, while the official KIA timeline said the 3-door would go on sale in 1H2013…

The bumper is from the KUE and KND-4 concepts. The grille is from the GT, the side profile is from the 1st generation cee’d except more aggressive and the back…. oh I can’t see that yet. The headlights is from the Rio’s mixed with the GT’s and a little Kia Venga is in it too. Did you guys notice the exterior mirrors on the Rio, 2nd generation cee’d, GT and 2nd generation Forte? There is also another new signature design language. Something about the snout on each Kia. It’s like if you look at the Optima, Soul, 2012 Rio and 2nd generation cee’d sketch as well as the GT, Pop and Ray, those Kia snouts sorta of curves or is round. It’s not flat, I can’t explain it but it’s like a cute little signature look. It’s right around where Kia’s bages are located on the hood, that area is sorta of curvy or round. Like round and flat put togather. This is also on the Kee concept. I also believe that this signature snout will be on the K9 as well. I also took a better look at the next Forte’s front, it also appears to have that same curvy round look. These snouts looks like it is more than just a signature look but was also created to decrease drag. So come on Mazda 3 and Ford Focus hatch bring it on the cee’d is ready to get in that a**. A

Look at that animal like face. Looking just like the other Kias and yet it doens’t then it does and yet it doesn’t. How do they do it? How does Kia make each car look within the family but they have their own little personality? Even the K2 and Rio look alike and yet don’t….. then they do and yet don’t. I guess ugly Tam is going to look like the rest of the family….. if it could only be seen.

Kia’s designs are the best today, simple as that: personality and charisma on it!
