American automotive data provider ALG has declared that 2011 Kia Sportage has the highest residual value rating in the compact CUV section. The outstanding rating of 61-percent of original MSRP for 3 years of ownership has made 2011 Kia Sportage stand in the league of BMW and Subaru.

The 2011 Kia Sportage Residual Value is 20 point more than 2010 model, which is remarkable leap in the automotive industry. This compact utility vehicle has created a benchmark in the history of Kia Motors by attaining the highest residual value rating the company has ever received for any vehicle from ALG.

The high Residual Value Rating from ALG of new Kia Sportage have definitely added to the brand value of Kia Motors and will probably increase demand for the vehicle. Apart from the Kia Sportage Residual Value, the new 2011 model has a first-rate design and is equipped with the latest technology.

The change in size and style of Kia Sportage has given a new dimension to look of the vehicle.  The stylish look of 2011 Kia Sportage will significantly leverage the Kia brand. Not only the design of the new crossover vehicle has been revamped but, it is also added with more power and improved fuel economy.

The 2011 Kia Sportage also supports some advance features like panoramic sunroof, push-button start, rear camera display, navigation, LED daytime running lights and an air-cooled driver’s seat that will enhance the performance of the vehicle considerably.

In addition to all amazing features, the vehicle is said to have the UVO powered by Microsoft 1 in-vehicle communication and entertainment system based on the Windows Embedded Automotive platform.

The dynamically styled Kia Sportage is a true value for money and ALG Residual Value Rating for the vehicle has hallmarked this statement. The pricing of 2011 Kia Sportage will start at $18,995, though models equipped with optional features could exceed the value of $30k. But, the higher resale value and great leasing options are an added advantage for the buyers who wish to purchase the vehicle.

The design transformations made by Kia Motors have proved in favor of the company and made it highly popular in US market share. The company is continuously working on improving the design innovation, quality, value, and safety features of its vehicle by taking help of the new technology.  The all-new Kia Sportage is the biggest example of company’s innovative methodologies and high ALG Residual Value Rating an accolade to its initiatives.

Now this is worthy news. By the way they sharp looking in person. The only downside is the low roof line in the back. It might make rear visibility differcult.

The only disappointment is they deleted the power turn signals mirrors that sweep back, for the US-Spec version!

Oh and no Saddle Leather like in the Tucson.

  4. Scott Says:

Yes saddle leather would be nice, but remember Hyundai is more premium brand than Kia. Do you mean they are powered to sweep back vs manual, because they do sweep up instead of in towards door. I do like those options but I understand why they don’t.

BTW, I know Kia and Hyundai going to No.1.

As a fan of HK, I am very afarid that they going to No.1.

GM and Toyota falling quality problem when they at NO.1 position.

Quality suffers when you at number one. Just look at GM in the past and now Toyota.

    1. Don’t surpass GM and Ford at US market.
    (hint : patriotism)

    2. Don’t be a No.1.

    3. Keep underdog position. Stay humble.

The first CUV that I could stretch my legs out in a comfortable position while driving, the driver seat actually can go back farther than I even need it to go and I am 6’4″! Firm ride without being harsh, great visibilty and smooth powerfull acceleration make the 11 Sportage a clear front runner again in the class it invented well before there even was a CR-V or Rav! :)

I did sit in one on the showroom floor and seem bigger than I imagined. I hope the SX can get here before Jan 2011 in the USA. Can’t wait to drive the turbo.

I hear that Toyota or Honda bought a Sonata, and 2010 Sorento for reverse engineering.I also heard that GM wants to buy the K7 when it goes on sale too. Anyone know if this is true?

    I mean 2011 Sorento.

It probably is. Everyone just about buys all close competitors’s cars just for such purposes.

    Did HKAG reverse engineer anything?

  14. jtz Says:

    August 9th, 2010 at 6:21 pm

I heard Kia alone bought some BMWs and I think Mercedes or Audis for reverse engineering but that was back in the same year the Kia KND-4 and Kee were shown. Maybe it was for the K9? Anyway, I don’t think HKAG needs to buy any Nissans, Toyotas or Hondas anymore. Oh yeah, Greg, I also hear that Toyota is purchasing as many Korean models as possible because of HKAG’s safety. They supposly bought the Forte after October 2009 because it has a 5 star crash safety rating and their corolla doesn’t. In addition, thereis another rumor that Toyota is waiting for the next Accent and Elantra so they can purchase it too. Oh yeah, and last, I heard that Toyota/Lexus bought the Equus in S. Korea for their next Lexus LS. I bet Toyota or Huh-da is waiting for the American version of the K5 too. After all, Toyota just have to know how a 2.0L 276 horsepower engine has more horses than the Camry V6 does. GM supposly bought the K7 in S. Korea because of GM Daewoo.

  15. jtz Says:

I think GM bought the K7 becuase of Buick and Caddilac.

So now that all these Hyundais and Kias are up in other manufactuers, R&D, THEY are going to test drive it, measure the mpg, check airbags and take the engines and everything apart so they can see how it works. Sorta of how Sony and Microsoft took the Wii’s remote apart for the Kinect and Sony’s version. Just how when the Apple I phone first arrived, Verizon and AT&T bought it so they could sell their own version as well.

Guess what? Toyota got another recall. Something about the Prius and Yaris hatch. Something about sexual activity in the back seat of a Toyota. The people in the back got injured. Their was about 200 complaints about the injury. Gee that makes the 13th recall from Toyota the best automaker in the entire world. Right?

  18. jtz Says:

    August 9th, 2010 at 10:04 pm

Well look at the bright side about Toyota’s recalls? If it wasn’t for them, that innocent man would have still been in prison this day. Too bad people back then blamed him and not his car since Toyota is the best automaker in the world. Nothing can go bad from them.

  19. jtz Says:

    August 9th, 2010 at 10:07 pm

Guess what? I read yet another recall from the BEST automaker in the world…. TOYOTA. Something about the steering problems. They can lock up.

  20. jtz Says:

    August 9th, 2010 at 10:11 pm

You know what? If I was that innocent man who went to prison because of Toyota’s problem and not mines, I would sue Toyota just like the real inventor who sued Toyota about the 1997 Prius. After all, time is time and once it’s used up it’s gone. And I don’t want a Toyota car neither give me the money so I can us y’all money to buy a 2011 Kia Sportage or Optima.

This is a happy and proud era for us Kia supporters. The boys have done us all well and they just keep getting better and better all the time. Now I think that No.1 in the world is do-able for HyunKia. Definitely do-able, dudes.

  22. Greg Says:

    August 10th, 2010 at 4:57 am

The thing is, everyone is criticizing Kia for raising the base price for the Sportage, but, for the old base price, you got a hell of a lot less than you get with the new Sportage base. Not to mention, once you add on the automatic transmission, prices are right about the same. Just the base price has gone up.

Kia did a pretty good job on the 2011 Sportage commercial here in the states. I see it all the time on CBS.

  25. jtz Says:

    August 10th, 2010 at 4:51 pm

I don’t see why everyone is b****ing about the Sportage raising its base price. Kia has to pay Sirius, Bluetooth, UVO, the leather seat company, Firestone/Goodyear, where ever they buy their windows, car seats and radios. They have to pay the person to make the drivers manual, they have to waste money on making sportages to get destoroyed by their own safety and yet send some to professioanl safety companies so they can determine if it will get a 5 star crash safety system. They have to pay for the lightbulbs, clay, labor and overhead to make these finished goods. They have to pay taxes. They have to pay for everything from the ground up. Plus the designers Peter Schyrer one of the top 10 best designers in the world doesn’t come at a cheap cost for Kia. Plus while prices are going up, Kia also has to pay more to buildmore cars and new models. What’s Kia supposed to do, just act like its 1994 again as if inflation has not happned? Personally, I’m very shocked that the 2011 Kia Sorento’s base price is under $20,000 like the 2003 Sorento was.

  26. jtz Says:

    August 10th, 2010 at 4:58 pm

And when you see that new commercial on CBS, a 30 second spot is like $100,000 and could be more on very popular channels like the Superbowl or ESPN and TNT. So when buying a car, some of that income also is for advertising. Its called a business and if anyone knows how to purchases all of that RAW Material into a car and have it start under $10,000, I say go to your favorite automaker and fill out an application for the Exc position. Any auto manufactorer would love to hear your stratagy of filling A segment cars with raw material with BMW and Audi and price it under $10K

  27. jtz Says:

    August 10th, 2010 at 5:10 pm

Guess what? Honda got a recall. It is between the 2004 ugly Accord to 2006. Something about the Key that can come out while the car is still on and it doesn’t have to be in park. This could cause the car to roll. Suprisngly, Toyota made a profit in sales in the states regardless of the recalls. I guess people liike going back and forth to the dealership. I know I don’t….

  28. Bryan Says:

    August 10th, 2010 at 10:48 pm

Toyota is basically imploding into themselves because of all of the stupidity. They’re crappy businessmen and bad car builders, period.

  29. jtz Says:

    August 11th, 2010 at 5:10 pm

Toyota and Huh-da is also rushing trying to keep up with demand with the Koreans auto manufactuers. Think about it. Why is it that Huh-da didn’t take the time to design the upcoming Honda CR-Z all it is is a triplet of the the VW Iroc and Volvoo 3 door. Does the Veloster have any clones? Also, why is it that the 11′ Scion TC is really nothing but a facelift that makes the Forte Koup’s interior look like a very upscale interior. That old TC design is aged completlely. They tried to copy Kia. For example, the Forte sedan’s greenhouse is a more boxy and strightlined Spectra. Yet, it looks completely different from the spectra because of the simple strightlines, tailights, interior and alloys. Unlike the TC that has the same tailights, headlights and same size pillars. At least the Forte’s A pillars came from the Kue. The next TC is just the same all around and that is supposed to turn heads? Please that thing has nothing up agaisnt the koup. Infact, Kia redesigned the face of the Koup to be different from the sedan. Unlike the Huh-da Civic sedan and coupe’s face that is the same. That’s easy to do. Toyota only focused on giving the 11′ TC 180 horses in a 2.5L engine. I call that a last minute thing. And I can say that because we still ain’t seen any spy shots of the next Rio. That tells you that the Rio is going to be very well designed, perforemed, attractive and will come out with two complete designs one for Europe and the other for N.America. August is the month new Kias come to be tested for spy shots for the first time. Like the HM and of course the K5. So get ready, because the next Rio is going to be on spy shots really SOON!!!. Which type of Rio you guys think will be on spy shots first, the European version or the N. American version? I say the N. American version first becuase that version is for S. Korea as well and they get all the new models first because it is Kias home land.

  30. Greg Says:

    August 11th, 2010 at 6:40 pm

The European Rio is the Venga……No sedan in Europe.

  31. Bryan Says:

    August 12th, 2010 at 1:15 am

So that answers that, eh? Yeah, bring that new peep in to new world order Rio to NA now! I can’t wait. All because of jtz’ enthusiasm. Just kidding. Greg and I and jtz all three can’t wait!

  32. HyundaiSmoke Says:

I wonder if Rio will have a Sedan and a 3 Door since the Accent has a 5 door now? A Lighter than Accent 3 Door Rio with a 140 HP engine would really pop. Iam hearing reports that Veloster is Avante Coupe. I cant confirm this but if that is so, then they probably will give it the 2.0 GDI like US Elantra. If they did such a thing, then a Rio 3 door wont face Cannibalization.
    -
Who cares about Toyota/Honda and their Yawn Boxes.
    -
Just make the best cars money can buy at any price and they will come, and you will make tons and tons and tons and tons of money. Iam hearing Acura Owners trading in TSXs for Sonatas by the way. I wonder what’s going to get traded in for Optima?

  33. jtz Says:

    August 12th, 2010 at 11:06 am

Will if the Venga is the other version of the next Rio then I wonder if a five door Rio is going to be axed out in Europe. There’s no need for it there. Greg just gave me a clue about no sedan in Europe. Think about it. Just focus on Europe and only there. If there is no sedan and we got to assume no 5 door, that can only mean one or two things: Kia is also coming out with a 3 door version for sure and maybe even a coupe for Europe. Maybe a Rio Koup. They’re up to somthing and I sense spy shoots reallly soon. Spy shots will answer a lot of questions and a lot of commets would occur.

I just saw the 2012 Buick Vernao. Nothing special. The greenhouse is just a 1992 Ford Taurus 2002 Subaru Legacy, Saturn L300, Chevy Impala, 2011 Infinti M sedan, 2004 Infinti M sedan and the 2009 LaCross greenhouse. And Just like the Enclave’s headlights came from the Lexus SC’s and Nissan Rouge. That’s easy to do.

  35. jtz Says:

    August 12th, 2010 at 4:50 pm

They say that new Buick is supposed to be a C segment car. To me GM is stupid for letting Buick compete with the Civic, Corolla, Cruze, Forte, Elantra, Sentra and that Mazda 3 (its tailights came from the 2002 Corolla’s). And speaking of GM, when the heck is the 2009 I mean 2011 Cruze going on sale? The Sportage been revealed for 7 months and is about to debut this year. Also, Toyota given the Highlander a facelift. I guess the Saturn L300′s headlights wasn’t working for them since the Sorento outsold that ugly thing last month. Also, Nissan wants another chance with the Kia Soul in sales so they want to bring out that ugly Juke that is priced higher than the 2011 Kia Sportage. The Sportage will chew that Juke up and spit it out. Nissan is braging it has a higher mpg than the TC but lets see Nissan’s Juke up agaisnt the Sportage since the Soul did something Nissan couldn’t do take over the small CUV segment.

Went to the Kia dealer to see the UVO system today. They say it is a work in progress and not available any time soon. ANybody know what the problem is with this system? Is it worth waiting for before buying a vehicle.

  38. Scott Says:

    August 30th, 2010 at 7:35 pm

Kia decided to wait on the UVO when they can intergrate it into the Naviagation. 2011 Sportage Sx should see it first in Jan. I think that what Greg reported here.

  39. Greg Says:

    August 30th, 2010 at 8:27 pm

You just reminded me! I heard today that Kia is considering releasing the non-navigation version this fall. We’ll have to see what happens. I know for sure we’ll have it by January though.

  40. jtz Says:

They should let customers have the UVO without Nav right now. My understanding it was going to be on the Sorento SX to start with. Maybe they are still working some bugs out of it.
