Kia’s global sales in June 2010 rise 16 percent to 184.111 units. Cee’d hatchback joins the group of 5 best-selling Kia cars.
Kia Motors Corporation announced today its global sales figures for passenger cars, recreational vehicles and commercial vehicles for June 2010, recording a total of 184.111 units sold. This represents a year-on-year increase of 16,2 percent.
Cumulatively, through the first six months of the fiscal year, Kia’s overall global sales surpassed the 1-million unit mark, posting an increase of 34,1 percent year-on-year and reaching 1.004.724 units. China has experienced the highest gain of 75.6% based on sales of 170,977 units to date in 2010.
During the month of June, the South Korean carmaker experienced healthy year-on-year sales increases in all overseas sales regions. Sales in general markets rose to 39.656 units (+52 percent), while sales in China eclipsed to 26.663 units. North America sales were up 17 percent (37.770 units sold), while European sales rose 12 percent to 35.591 units.
The C-segment Cerato (sold as Forte in some markets) was Kia’s top-selling vehicle in June. Kia sold 33.803 units of Cerato worldwide. The model was followed by the B-segment Rio and Sportage SUV with sales of 18.413 and 16.827 units sold, respectively.
The 2011 Sorento crossover recorded the sales of 15.322 units last month, enough to take one spot above the Kia cee’d. Kia cee’d, which is on sale only in Europe, rounds out the top five best-selling Kia vehicles in June with sales of 12.247 units.
“I am encouraged to see sales of Kia vehicles around the world surpass the 1 million unit sales mark faster than ever before in the automaker’s history. All of major regions are now gearing up for the sales of all-new Sportage crossover, which will certainly add to our momentum and help continue strong sales for the brand in the second half of 2010,” said Hyoung-Keun Lee, President of Kia Motors.

I’m in L.A. and I saw the K5 on the road and RIGHT behind it I saw the Sonata hybrid. The K5 looks better in person.

That’s because the K5 is a better look car.

Agree and it’s not because I like Kia better than Hyundai because I think the I-Flow is the only Hyundai that looks better than any Kia (it looks better than the Ray). However somehow Kias non production concept cars look kind of strange but when certain areas from that concept goes into production it kills. Think about it the new Sportage and K5 both have the KEE’s seats. Plus the Sportage face looks way better than the Kue’s even though it’s facecame from the Kue’s. That’s why I think when the Kee goes into production it will look better than the Nissan Z. Speaking of face I see that Toyota’s weak ass is trying to come up with a family grille as well. Kia does a way better job making horizontal headlamps than toyota though. The new Avalon’s headlights is a click and paste from the corolla. That’s easy to do. Try doing what Kia is doing by making all its models look alike yet every new Kia’s headlight is totally different even the Sportage’s and Sorento’s faces are completely different yet the have the same familiar look. That must be difficult to do. How do they do it?

Even the Sorento’s SX front bumper is different from the Koup, Sportage and K5 yet they all have mouth like front that when looking at all of them a person well see they come from the same Manufacurer kinda like how the faces from the VW Iroc, Lancer, new Aveo, Honda CR-z and the Tundra’s face. Just put an Audi badge on all of them.

Guess what? Toyota got sued because they been using hybrids since 1997 without permission from the actual inventer. Everytime I look up, something else bad happens to Toyota. Wow, Toyota has been like Chery this whole time. Think about it: Remember when some car manufacterer from China had took some research from the HM (now known as the Borrego)? So Toyota been stealing hybrid technology from someone since 1997? That’s a long time. Now I know what the wife from Mrs. Doubt Fire meant by “the whole time.” Isn’t that funny? Wow, not Toyota they are the best car manufacterer in the whole entire world. Toyota is never supposed to get any recalls let alone get sued. Nothing bad happens to Toyota their perfect!!! Lol, does Mazda still want those hybrids from Toyota?
