It seems that everyone has a “donut stage” in their driving career. Mine ended up with me and a friend crashing in to a huge rock in a furniture store parking lot in my Dad’s ’66 VW Fastback. Cut my wrist up and we both bonked out heads on the roof real hard. Dad was surprisingly easy on me after that crash, even though it totalled his VW. He remembered a certain crash in Europe in which he was hotdogging like me and so he let me off the hook!

I was with my friendand he hit a light pole doing donuts. He bent the rim and dented the car. He was rough on cars, they were always POS’s. I remember one time he had this 73 Duster with a 318. He decides to do a brake torque in the on the ice and mud. He did know there was rusted out hole in the left rear wheel well. Needless to say he filled the whole interior of the car with slush and mud. We were soaked with muddy frozen water muck…

I wouldn’t do donuts in any car I owned or really liked and respected. Period. Shows you my real view of VW’s. It was a fun little fastback to drive, though, so maybe I shouldn’t dis the ’66 VW like that.

Reverse donuts in an 03 Taurus is pretty fun. Not to mention, that car is a rodent. There are over abundances of them.

Fail. This basically says “if you see anyone driving a Soul, chances are they’re an old Geriatric fuck!”

No, I believe that you are thinking more of people driving a Rondo.

might be surprised how many old people are driving the Soul. The Rondo’s are used by rental car agency’s.

Oh, I know it is a car a lot of old people drive, and it is really ideal for them. It is pretty much a car for 18-25 and 50+.

I am getting there now, it would suit me well. I will wait til they put the 2.4 turbo and 5 speed auto one day..

Not to mention, that bin above the radio interface is plenty big enough to fit a bottle of Geritol!

If owning a slushbox makes them feel young again, then so be it…

Guys, most small car owners are 18-40, or 60+. It’s not a shocker to see older folk driving the things.

For 60+ the Soul has the advantage of higher ground clearance which makes getting in and out easier for them!
