Here's hoping there is an available push button start .....like the 2011 Sorento or 2011 Sonata. The US version of the ix35 Tucson lost the push-button here in America for some reason. Dumb move. But I won't hold my breath.

Sportage and Tuscon are the same size. Hyundai will have a smaller Crossover than the Tuscon=HED-5=Next gen Elantra Touring.

In terms of fuel consumption i just wonder what can be expected from a 2.4 liter and 6 speed manual or automatic transmission. The 2.4 liter Theta 11 engine with 184 Hp at( ??? RPM) coupled with the 6 gear transmission is likely to provide a much better fuel economy and acceleration than the previous 2.0 liter gazoline engine which is too slow to compete with crv and rav4 opponents.

The important is to get a highly fuel efficient and powerful vehicle with low fuel consumption. It is also of paramount importance that a 4 wheel drive version be provided with a full integral wheel drive and slippage detect capability rather that that the after the fact reaction to slippage which is provided ont the current (2005-2010) wd version.

Concerning the dual zone air condtitioned, it is a nice to have feature. Does the air conditioning is automatic or manual.

I really wish that Kia engineer solved the problem created by the too hard plastic used in the 2005-2010 sportage. This problem is anouying as scratches are easily created and also the plastic hardness and feel does not produce a pleasant feeeling.

Also the current mud collector are too rigid ans are easily breaking under snow sticky condition in norther regions such as canada and north of United stares. i wish that this problem be solved with the new version.

I wish also that seat comfort be improved for all conductors size and passengers. Same comment for back seat which also must be made more confortable that it is in the currents (2005-2009) version.

The cost must also be kept down with superior warranty up to 7 years bumber to bumper.

That all folks and keep your eyes open.

What Boris said "jtz, I think sorento will still be a small SUV by US standards. it is after all on the santa fé platform." Yeah right so what is this Sportage on spy shots for then? If the Sportage is Kia's smallest SUV and Toyota Rav 4 is their smallest SUV the next SUVs is Sorento and Highlander. What the heck is so difficult about that?!

Unlike the Tuscon, the Sportage will get the same 1.6 GDI going in the Next gen Accent. So, just on that basis it would have to cost less than they are now.

With the new Sorento starting around $20000 can we expect the new Sportage's to be less then they are now? I would have to think they will be in order to keep the vehicle's interest.

The lever in picture number two reminds me of the lever found in the 2005 Kia Mesa's interior.

So um, when this debuts, will the 11' Sorento no longer be mistaken as a Rave 4/ CRV rival then? I look at this way if the Tucsan is a CRV rival and the Sorento is not in the same class as the Tucsan why compare the new Sorento with the CRV then?

That's right, Boris! This is preproduction interior, which is made of lower quality materials. Final, production interior will be better looking for sure!

the interior seen here may not be final. pre-production test units usually have low quality materials for the interior. maybe the final product will have aluminum accents, or better, piano black accents and higher quality materials.
but it is true that the Soul's dash looks really good in design (even if its hard plastic) compared to this in the new Sportage.
