The 2010 Kia Venga spied completely undisguised. Kia plans to officially unveil Venga at Frankfurt Motor Show next month.
One week after Kia released first official photos of its upcoming mini-MPV called the Venga, we bring you the very first live shots of a completely undisguised car that has been spotted in the wild, somewhere in South Korea.
Codenamed YN, the spacious new compact crossover-hatchback from Kia goes on sale across Europe later this year, shortly after it makes its official public debut at the Frankfurt Auto Show. The 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show opens its doors on September 15th and already on its very first day, we will be able to follow the official premiere of the 2010 Kia Venga.
According to Kia, the all-new Venga will be available with a range of four-cylinder diesel and gasoline engines, generating from 75 to 115 horsepower and will be mated either to manual or automatic transmissions.
All engines in the Venga line-up will be paired with Kia’s fuel-saving Idle Stop and Go technology and will satisfy EURO5 emission standards. Venga will also be the first compact car from Kia that will be available with huge panoramic glass roof. Full details about powertrains, option packages, pricing and available features will be announced during the upcoming Frankfurt auto show.
Kia will market Venga mini-MPV exclusively for Europe, where the model will also be produced. According to latest un-official news and rumors, Venga will be built by Hyundai at its European manufacturing plant which has an estimated production capacity of 300.000 new cars per year. i just love the look of the front. the first pic showing the venga from the front just emphases the swept headlights. even from the side view (3rd pic), the front looks sporty. the back just reminds me of a renault MPV. which isnt my taste but seem to be to the liking of europeans.
btw, what ever is it doing in S. Korea???

Almost reminds me of a “shortened” version of a Honda Odyssey!!! Regretfully, Kia Australia have categorically stated this model WILL NOT come to Australia….. ;>((

I agree, if the U.S.-released new Rio looks like this I’d be as happy as Steeler QB Ben Roethelsberger in Super Bowl 40 when the ref’s called his stopped-run drive to the end zone a TD. The ball was clearly 8 inches short of the goal! Super Bowl 40 was the Seahawks to lose, only the ref’s and Las Vegas did it for them. They ought to catch the bought-off ref’s involved and hang them by their…umm…little fingers.

The headlights are too….eccentric. Kia needs to give those headlights a revamp before they dare show that to the USA public, or they will be a terrible point for criticism. Journalists would treat that like the way they treated the interior of the 2001 Rio!

The Kia design team is on a ball right now… Two days ago I saw a Forte Koup at an intersection just down the street driven by a Korean lady. It was black with the chrome/black wheels and it didn’t look fat or tall like in the pics – the proportions were gorgeous. The wheels didn’t look half bad either! Does anyone know when it came out in Australia??? I had no idea it was already selling here~

Ozzie, North America, Austrailia, Korea, and China will considered as the same market for all intensive purposes for now on, as we will get the same Hyundai/KIA products. The rest of the world will get the Euro Stuff.

Interesting take on things, HyundaiSmoke. I’ve been studying the Chinese market for a good year and a half now. Make no mistake my car nutty buddies, the Chinese market is alive, well, and vibrant. And they are the biggest buying market in the world right now. They make some hideously nasty knockoffs of existing designs, but they’re learning and they are starting to share the love of automobiles that has long ago hit NA, Europe and the rest of Asia. Don’t sell them short and don’t put them down. How many of you already know certain skills before you’ve actually practiced them and done them? Answer that question honestly. The Chinese, although of a much different political ruling system, have a much different economic climate now. Watch them grow. The smart automakers are over there, following their joint-build rules and participating with them. The Chinese can help you keep your Big Boy carmaking Company alive, gentlemen. Kia and Hyundai both understand this fully and most completely.

Exactly Bryan, China is our new store as the American Market can only grow so much, We have to invest heavily in China, and not just us but the Americans too.

-The Chinese can make the cheap stuff, but if American and Korean stuff over there is seen as the stuff they must have and they must have it made in America and Korea due to perceived superior craftsmanship,:it will be profit and jobs banquet over there and here at home for us.

One I kind of like is Car magazine, ever looked at it? And one of those UK rags, is it umm…humm, can’t think of it. But they put all kinds of small car pics with descriptions of the car’s attributes in small print right under the pics. Interesting marker, the European car market. It’s big and large. And small in individual car sizes!
