Kia has unveiled the 2010 Forte Koup yesterday during it’s official press concference at the auto show in New York. The two-door variant of Forte sedan, which is expected to hit the US Kia dealers in late summer of this year, is a very important new product from Kia Motors as it represents the next step in the evolution of Kia’s design and provides a blend of sporty and emotional appeal.

Also, we just received our update to our parts catalog (Snap-On provides the program) and it now has the Soul and Forte (which has 08 MY as part of it’s name, “Forte 08 MY”) listed in the 2010 models…

The production Koup has a slightly different look than the concept Koup, and it is clearly evident towards the end of this video. They show the concept Koup then the production right after it. This is clearly a stunning vehicle to look at. The video has both the Forte Koup’s and the Soul’s specific designers in here talking about each new vehicle and what drove thier design ideas. Kia is rising constantly higher in value offered, design, safety and curb appeal.

I loved the Space 1999 space ship at the last. I will say one thing ….. the Forte Koup will be my next car.

Oppps!! I pressed the wrong button there :-(
What I was going to say was, I thought Michael Sprague (Vice president of Kia marketing) and Tom Kearns (Chief designer, Kia design Center America) look “exactly the same”. they must be brothers or clones, at least. Check out the video.

Wooo! Kia does it again.. Stealing designs from other REAL car companies.

The forte has the face of a 06-present civic and the ass of a lancer. Good job on originality!

Wow, offending a world renowned designer, just because a car has similar lines. Wow, how rude.

Umm…anyone with a true eye-for-design can see that this is a superior body style to that of the Hon-Duh Civic. The Civic’s a piece of poop. Now, the Lancer is another story, I love it. I have one. But the new Forte has different lines than the Lancer, too. This is what I run in to over at Edmunds.com. People that don’t see the fine minutia of automobile body design. Kia in 1999 put their Sephia head-to-head against the Civic and Corolla. When I saw my friends white ’99 Sephia’s front end body design, I began to see talent of Kia. Heck, Kia was producing great stuff even before P.Schreyer arrived, dudes. No kidding. And the ’99 Kia Sephia was a fun car to drive, too. Especially once I put on some after market rims and Yokohama 70,000 mile radials. The car handled like a champ after that!

I noticed something in the parts catalog for the Forte: The turn signals in the mirrors are bulbs, specifically the same bulb as the parking lamp on the older Sorentos, and the current Borregos (the outer bulb; the inner bulb is a turn signal and parking lamp). In the Optima and Borrego (US models) the mirror turn signals are LEDs…

lol, thts either cost cutting or they dont hv enough LEDs to go around lol. well, it isnt much of a prob really…
