The 2010 Kia Forte is expected to go on sale in Canada by the end of April. While we are waiting Kia Canada to release some official information on Forte’s trim levels, equipment and pricing details, we will show you two leaked documents that we received in our mail-box earlier today and are revealing some of the awaited information.
According to the leaked pricing documents, the four-door Forte sedan will range in price from $15.695 to $22.195 (Canadian dollar). Featuring an all-new exterior and interior design, the 2010 Forte sedan will be equipped with either a 156 horsepower 2.0L or 174 hp 2.4L Theta four-cylinder engines and four different transmissions (5-speed manual, 4-speed automatic, 6-speed manual and 5-speed automatic). The all-new Kia Forte (in Canadian market) is available in three trim levels: LX, EX and SX.
Base Forte LX offers various standard features such power heated outside mirrors, power windows, power doorlocks, MP3 audio system with AUX and USB input ports, voice activated hands-free Bluetooth connectivity, steering wheel mounted audio controls and a complete safety equipment including 6 airbags, ABS, four-wheel disc brakes and anti-whiplash front headrests.
EX and SX models offer a number of additional features, such as: electronic stability control (ESC), 16 inch or 17 inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control, telescopic steering wheel, exterior chrome door handles, automatic sunroof and more (see the image below!).
The top of the range Forte SX model equipment also includes supervision instrument cluster, leather-trimmed seats, metalic interior accents, leather wrapped steering-wheel, alloy sport pedals and Sirius satellite radio.

Tires&Wheels
Depending on trim levels, the 2010 Kia Forte comes available with three different sets of tires and wheels. The base Kia Forte LX comes with 15-inch steel wheels fitted with P195/65R15 tires, while Forte 2.0 EX comes equipped with 16-inch alloy wheels and the size of P205/55R16. The top of the line Forte 2.4L SX model is available with sporty looking 10-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels and P215/45R17 tires.
Exterior colors
In Canada, Kia Forte buyers will be able to choose from a variety of attractive exterior colors such as Santorini Blue or Spicy Red. The eight-color palette also includes Clear White, Sterling, Light Graphite, Titanium Silver, Metal Bronze and Black Orchid.

A, KIA Forte 2010 es intellegente Carlos. Johnathan, this is a C segment car in America. The Optima is a D segment car in America. So the Optima in the US has a spot. They should bring a Pro C’eed to America, as a sport hatch.

What a great looking small sedan from Kia Motors. Some similarities in looks between this new Forte and my ’08 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS. One of them being the ’08 Lancer got a 2.0L 152-hp 4-cyl motor, then in ’09 Mitsu put out a larger 2.4L 168 hp 4-cyl motor. Now look at the new Forte’s engines sizes! It is truly a beautiful little sedan to feast one’s eye’s on.

Bryan Remember, Hyundai/KIA owns about 35% of Mitsubishi, so some of those engine and tranny components, as well as other parts are interchangable. A Lancer is pretty much a sport tuned Forte. You probably cfan use Mitsu Aftermarket exhausts on the Hyundai/KIAs.
Is it just me, or did anybody notice today that the Cops were being very racist to us Hyundai Drivers. Every stop I saw was a Hyundai stop. KIAs too.
I got a Ticket in my Accent. I seen a Veracruz get a ticket, I seen a Optima get a ticket, A Sportage got a ticket. An Elantra got a ticket. I meant everytime I turned around today one of our products was on the side of the road getting a ticket by a State Trooper, or some City or Township cop.

NOT TRUE! In the past, it was Mitsubishi that owned Hyundai and both companies shared powertrain technologies, but Mitsu sold their shares later. Also Forte does not share any of it’s technology with Lancer, those are completely different cars…

Do you know why the Magentis/Optima is not selling? No advertisement, I have not seen one commercial for the Optima here in the states. Everytime they have a have a TV marketing campaign for a car it sells.
Maybe the Forte Coupe will be a hatchback someday, a 3 door?

Nick, the Forte SX has just about everything the Mazda3 has, except for HIDs. And the Forte looks much better than the Mazda3. The giant smiling mouth and other facial features on the Mazda3 makes it look cartoonish, childish/feminine.

Name the options the Forte will not have, other than HID lights, that the 3 will have. Just name them. Oh, and why should we let Europe have the Forte? Let them be jealous for a change! We didn’t get the cee’d, they don’t get the Forte, plain and simple! I think it’s kind of funny, because now IMHO, the Forte is better than the cee’d!

Well, adaptive bi-xenon headlamps, rain sensing windshield wipers, LED taillights, navigation, push button start w/ advanced keyless entry and start, dual zone climate control, heated seats (opt. on Forte?), welcome lighting system, better radio…
Now, none of these are deal breakers, but it would have been nice to be able get some of the above. Navi, I can get on my own. The wipers, LEDs, push button start, dual zone climate and welcome lighting aren’t that important and I could easily skip those. But the bixenons would have been great.

So, Nick, you are another fan of bi-xenons and I agree with you it would be nice to have them as an option, although personally, I would not pay for them. The Forte has heated seats as standard on the EX and SX. There is also more blingy gadgetry on the Mazda3, like push button start (for what?) and lighting effects. Rain-sensing wipers are a mixed blessing, I can tell you: when you are driving on a hot summer night, and insects start splattering on your windshield, it’s not a good thing to have the wipers start because they think it’s raining…
I agree with you that other items are not that much important. What matters to me is that the Forte has all the useful/necessary features and specs for a lower price than the Mazda3, while looking so much better. Still, despite its bizarre looks up front, the Mazda3 is a better proposition overall than Civic, Corolla, Elantra and Sentra. But the Forte is the new category winner in my book, at least on paper.
I’m just hoping the driving experience measures up to the great styling of the Forte.

himi, along with HyundaiSmoke’s comments on Hyundai/Kai owning 35% of Mitsubishi not being true, I also have never heard that Mitsubishi owned any part of Hyundai or Hyundai/Kia. Although maybe it’s true. Hyundai owns 51% of Kia, that is truth, and that occurred back in 1998. Any addendums to that agreement that may have been made since the late 90′s have slipped past my knowledge. Now, it is very true that Hyundai, Chrysler and Mitsubishi collaborated on a “world” 4-cylinder engine. Anyone have anything else to add to this conversation to truly spark some more confusion? =:)

Wow, the alloys on this production Forte sedan look quite a bit like the alloys on my 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS. My Lancer’s wheels are 18″, though. But the look is very similar. Looks like Kia is going to 17″ max. for wheel size on the Forte sedan-nothing wrong with that. Great looking sedan, this Forte by Kia!
