2010 Kia Soul and Borrego included in Kelley Blue Book’s weekly “5 Great Deals” list

Kelley Blue Book included Kia’s brand-new 2010 Soul crossover and 2009 Borrego SUV in it’s weekly “5 Great Deals” reported Kia Motors America just recetly.

The two newest vehicles to join Kia Motors’ ever-expanding lineup were lauded for offering attractive pricing on top of an impressive combination of capabilities and value.”In economically challenging times such as these consumers are looking for vehicles that offer the total package,” said Michael Sprague, vice president of marketing, Kia Motors America.

“Our entire vehicle line offers desirable content and packaging with pricing and standard safety features that surprise and delight. We are pleased with how well the Soul and Borrego are being received by the public and the press and the recognition they are getting from a well-known consumer and industry resource like Kelley kbb.com.”

Kelley Blue Book’s kbb.com, a leading automotive information company, issues a new “5 Great Deals” list each week to make new car buyers aware of packages and offers that dealers in their area are offering.

New cars with low financing, cash back and low-payment leases often make the list. Kbb.com featured the 2010 Kia Soul as one of its “5 Great Deals” for the week of March 9, and the 2009 Kia Borrego LX for the week of March 16. For more information about kbb.com’s “5 Great Deals” visit www.kbb.com/5_great_car_deals.

Available in four trims, Soul, Soul+, Soul! (exclaim) and Soul sport, pricing for the all-new versatile five door begins at $13,300(1) for the base trim, while Soul+ starts at $14,950 and tops out at $17,100 when all options are included. Moving up to the Soul!, pricing begins at $16,950 and peaks at $17,900 with all available options included; and the Soul sport, designed for those with active lifestyles, starts at $16,950 and tops out at $18,600 with all available options included.

With a starting price under $27,000, the 2009 Borrego, recently given a “Best Bet” distinction by The Car Book 2009, offers consumers a midsize SUV that combines practicality and luxury.

With Borrego’s impressive class-leading towing capacity of 7,500 pounds when paired with the V8 engine and best-in-class fuel economy of 15/22 city/highway when the V8 2WD engine is under the hood, the 2009 Borrego, also available with a V6 option, gives consumers a reliable SUV perfect for long weekends or camping trips while keeping passengers comfortable in a nicely appointed interior. I want the Soul Sport with the Soul + Interior, don’t care for the Red too much.. I wonder if this will be available one day? I Like the Seats with the Soul lettering. I want a Black one wit h the Body Kit and Dragon Decal. Maybe the Real Greg can tell me if you can order something like this?

like 2 weeks. They are inbound on next allocation. Be paitent, what part of MD do you live in? I work for Kia of West Chester in PA and I can let you know when we get our first one in. We were allowed 15 while most were only allowed 1-2. This is what happens when we sell lots of cars. So far we are #11 in the Nation and still #1 Internet Dealer.

Until the ecomomy went to hell Williams went between 2-3 in the nation all the time. To answer your question, “Greg”, if you get a Soul + with audio upgrade and foglights/sunroof package, the only difference between the two are:
    red interior
rear spoiler standard (accessory on +)
    sport tuned suspension
facias, sills, and valences standard (accessory on +)
    metal look door handles
    metal pedals (accessory on +)
So in reality, the only things that the sport has that you can’t get on the + is
    red interior
    sport tuned suspension
    metal look door handles
If you can sacrifice those 3 things, you can get a Soul + optioned almost as well as the sport.

20 Soul should be enough for like one week I guess, considering it’s strong demand. :)

Here’s a question for those of you who sell Kia’s. I want a Soul + because it has the interior I like the best but I want the 18″ wheels and tires from the !. Is there any way of doing that? Are the ! wheels available as an accessory on the +?

  13. Greg Says:

    March 24th, 2009 at 6:54 am

There are 18 inch black “flower” wheels that are an accessory. Although I’m sure you could work the 18 inch wheels into your deal.

Theres 12 on dealer lots in Southwestern Ohio (Dayton Cincinnati Metroplex), if you want to drive 2-300 miles. By the way, this thing is huge its as tall as a sportage. Could you guys imagine a B and Half Segment car with 32-34 MPG like the Soul canibalizing the sales of an SUV like the Sportage, it could happen, because like i said thing thing is huge.

All three Kia dealers in Las Vegas have Soul’s in stock. One dealer is owned by an acquaintance of mine and he has 10 available.

I saw a Kia Borrego on the road for the first time and was black. And this time I knew it wasn’t a Forester because the Forester has the Outlander’s headlights. Plus the headlights touches the grille just like the Outlander’s the only differance is it has the Mesa’s grille. Where the Borrego’s headlights don’t touch the grille and deosn’t look like the Outlander’s headlights. Also, I just saw the 2010 legacy on some website and was very disappointed of its apperance. The headlights looks like the GMC Accadia. The best looking Suburu is the Forester but it doesn’t look better than the Outlander though. Although the tailights looks like a 2005 Dodge Caravan’s. But I was glad to see a Borrego on the road. I couldn’t tell if it was a V6 or V8 since it was on the other side of the street. Boy was that grille the Forester got its grille from shining.

About 10 days ago I contacted a local New England Kia dealer for a quote on a Soul. He called me, & told me “this is in big demand, lots of dealers are asking $3-4K over MSRP, but I’ll give it to you for MSRP”.
I told him I am in no rush, in a few months he’ll be wheelin’ & dealin. I dont like being BS’d.
By the way, he still shows all his Souls in stock … and all the other area dealers have between 5 & 12 of ‘em.
The target market for this car is young. Happens to be the market with the highest unemployment in this area.
    I don’t buy HYPE.
Look at Prius …. not too long ago, Toyota dealers wanted MSRP +++. Now, they are giving cash back.
I can wait. Or I’ll buy American.
