Kia Soul hamster commercial

In order to effectively promote a hot new product (such as Kia Soul) you need to launch a very cool advertising campaign to grab the attention from the media and public. And that’s just what Kia Motors did to promote it’s just recently launched Kia Soul urban crossover.

The 60-second commercial spot has been created by an independent, Los Angeles based, creative agency David&Goliath and is targeting the Gen-Y consumers. It will be aired in movie theaters served by National Cinemedia and Screenvision, with the latter buy targeting cinemas located on or near 50 college campuses.

The funny ad showcases a hot-looking Kia Soul crossover while stopping at the large crossroad, next to the giant rodent spinning the hamster wheel. The Soul fits four hamsters comfortably while rocking out to a funky house beats. The song coming from their iPod, connected to the Souls stereo unit through a USB port is called “Fort Knox” and played by the Goldfish.

The “Kia Soul hamster” ad has already become a very popular one, generating thousands of views per day on Youtube. Furthermore, world’s largest automotive media recently issued their reports on the funny ad and speaking in general, they all found it really cool. Judjing by their loyal readership reactions, the public likes it too!

Here’s one very interesting quote that caught my attention, while browsing through the comments posted by the readers of Autoblog:

Ahh the power of advertising on women. My wife who hated the Soul at the car show now wants one because of this commercial. (by: Iridium; Autoblog)

The ad campaign will include five more Kia Soul hamster spot variations, each playing a different genre of music. According to Tim Chaney, working as a director, marketing communications at Kia Motors America, the cost of the campaign is pretty significant and right up there with the most we’ve ever spent on a launch.” [Source: Kia Soul commercial songs ]. Visit this link: Kia Soul commercial to find more info on the songs played in the Kia Soul commercial.

Update: Kia Motors will launch new commercial for its 2010 Kia Soul. Called This or That, the Soul commercial will again feature loveable hamsters. It will be officially launched on May 28th.

haha that’s cute… although I think it would be better marketed to young families in their 20′s and 30′s with little kids as a family vehicle rather than hipster college 18-22.

I saw this at the movies watching Watchman (the movie sucked my girlfired that it was good). We always show up at the movies early and she was talking about something and all of a sudden when we heard this noise, it caught our attention and we stopped talking. We seen a lot of hamsters in a really nice neighborhood in their wheels. We just saw more and more of them until a red Kia Soul full of hampsters made us laugh. I wonder when it will be on regular television.

I saw Know1ng this past weekend, and saw a variant of this commercial that did not have the Goldfish song in it. After doing a little research, I found that the other main variant of this commercial plays a song called Bounce by MSTRKRFT; however, I don’t think that was the song I heard either. I unfortunately can’t remember many of the song’s lyrics, but they were something like “front, back, side to side, round and round,” though not necessarily all together like that. According to this story, there are five more variations, so I thought I’d check to see anyone, a customer or Kia rep, happens to know this song, or could tell me where I could find a list of the songs that are used in each of the variants. Thanks in advance!

Hey all. The song that everyone is looking for is called “Do What You Like” by Marz. I contacted Kia to get this information, however I am having a hard time finding a place to buy this song. If anyone can find an online store selling the song, please post the link.

  24. sdhines Says:

IT IS NOT “DO WHAT YOU DO” “BOUNCE” OR “FORT KNOX”.
    ITS “COLOURS” BY CALVIN HARRIS!!!!!!!!!
    =] =] =] =] =] =] =]

  25. Concerned Says:

    April 7th, 2009 at 5:21 am

Well well well maybe the reason why you can’t find the song by marz is probably because he stole it … He comitted copyright infrigement. That beat was not obtained legally .. Original files r In a safe place. Shame on u…u got caught!!

  26. DaMan Says:

    April 7th, 2009 at 4:48 pm

cant wait 2 hear the Marz song…its soooo catchy!

  27. Hamster Says:

    April 7th, 2009 at 7:11 pm

“Concerned” how do you know for sure they stole it…it can just be a rumor…rumors like this come out all the time

  28. SmarterThanYou Says:

    April 8th, 2009 at 5:24 am

Its not stolen from Calvin Harris, listen to the song colours for yourself and you can immediately hear complete differences. Just because there’s a synthesized keyboard in the background and it keeps a 4/4 beat doesn’t mean it sounds the same. Some people are just stupid and ignorant, do some research before you post. I’ll be waiting for Marz to release the single.

  29. jaleous Says:

    April 8th, 2009 at 8:53 am

um listen the song is do what you do not like by marz. i understand what you mean by you cant find it and u cant find the tune. so i found a link THAT IS A SAMPLE so you know what tune your talking about

  30. CONCERNED Says:

    April 8th, 2009 at 8:06 pm

FIRST OF ALL! I KNOW ITS NOT STOLEN FROM CALVIN HARRIS! AND I HAVE DONE MY RESEARCH VERY WELL CONSIDERING THAT I KNOW THE PERSON WHO MADE THE BEAT!!! THAT BEAT WAS PLAIN AND SIMPLE STOLEN. ITS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE YOU FIND OUT, THEN THE IGNORANT ONES WILL HAVE TO GO AND SWALLOW THEIR WORDS…. THESE ARTISTS NOW A DAYS JUST THINK THEY CAN TAKE SOMEONE’S BEAT AND DO AS THEY PLEASE AND DONT EVEN GIVE THESE UP AND COMING PRODUCERS ANY CREDIT….TOO BAD! THE LAW SPEAKS FOR ITSELF, THATS ALL I CAN SAY… MAYBE THE ARTIST SHOULD REALLY REASEARCH TO FIND OUT HOW THE BEAT WAS OBTAINED AND FROM WHO. SHAME ON YOU!!!! AND THIS IS NOT A RUMOR, ITS JUST UPSETTING THAT ARTISTS TO THIS DAY THINK THAT THEY CAN GET AWAY WITH TAKING CREDIT FOR OTHER PEOPLE’S WORK!!!

  51. K-fed up Says:

    April 13th, 2009 at 9:53 pm

There is no way i would provide the information that Marz’s website wants just to download a song. That is ridiculous you don’t need a birthday, address, etc… can you say ID theft. Just put it on itunes and it will sell. Obvioulously someone needs a new manager if they want to make money. I have never heard of this guy. This might have been a good opportunity for this rapper to get his name out there.

  52. WTF Says:

  54. Lulu Says:

    April 14th, 2009 at 4:09 pm

  59. Skinny Says:

Kia may look great but dont be fooled! Their engines are poorly crafted. Their are junkyards with rows and rows of Kias with engines that have gone bad at only 60,000 miles!
