Continuoing our stream of image updates on the 2010 Kia Sorento, we have a set of fresh new pictures from South Korea for you.

Apparently, Kia Motors hosted a test-drive event to introduce it’s all-new Sorento to the Korean media and press ahead of it’s formal debut, where Autotimes.co.kr took some more images of the 2010 Kia Sorento.

We have already seen the new face of Kia Sorento and it’s interior earlier today, but now, guys from Autotimes surprised us with shots showcasing the new Sorento from the side and rear points of view. This is actually the first time we see the production-ready Sorento from behind. How do you like it?

Follow the jump to see two more shots…

The back of the car is very similar to the borrego’s. Nice work. Beautiful design.

I have to see the interior now. It looks good. I like the aventurous appearance go anywhere type of look. The body style reminds me of a cross between the KND-4 and Kia Mesa sorta look. It reminds me a tiny bit of the MDX but isn’t affraid to get dirty driving offroad.

Looks like it has one heck of a blind spot area, but atleast it contributes to the overall look of the vehicle. It looks more rugged than it’s cousin, the Veracruz.

i like it! looks much like a Borrego from the rear- not a bad thing as toyotas all have the same front rear similarities between their trucks & SUVs.

I love it, but I hate the wheels! They look like something off of a 2002 Saturn, I hope that those wheels aren’t on the EX or SX models!

The rear bumper reminds me of the Borrego’s front bumper.

they make a sporty appearance in front and part of a borrego at the back??? I h8 the whels and everything thats behind the C-pillar area.

i am a bit disappointed with the look. look heavy in the back. lost dynamic/compact feel of the first generation. also the reflector/rear foglight combo is a bit too big.

perhaps higher spec model with bigger wheels will help, but still the rear looks too heavy with thick D-pillar and pretty upright tailgate. more raked angle would have been better.

The thick d-pillar makes it look really bland in that area. A rare miss for Kia.

Yes, as I said before the ‘D’-pillar is a bit thick, but it’ll grow on us.
No, as far as the tail-gate angle goes, anymore rake on it and the people sitting in the 6th and 7th sit will be banging the back of the heads on the rear window. Although I would imagine they’d only be little people back there anyway.
I want that area to remain practical, where luggage can be loaded for going offroad or going camping, to be on the agenda, as it was/is with the current version of this vehicle.

no where near as horrible as the current Honda CRV

besides the nose it’s a bit anonymous which is pretty much what the small SUV market wants

    i think the star is the mechanicals… a 2.2 CRDi doing 435Nm, 150kW, 6 spd auto runnning a part time AWD…

should push the 2 tons quite well

I just noticed that this model must be LX, no fog lights. Good, those awful wheels won’t come with EX or SX!

and they also got the two tone effect on the rear bumper wrong as well

what’s wrong with the D pillar? yeah its a bit thick but this car’s stayed true to concept and we all loved the concept. well maybe not ALL but you get the point. i think a 2 door sorento would be fun as well but thats just me wishful thinking. i just love 2 door anything. then again, i’m 22 & i used to drive 2004 Explorer Sport. (the 2 door explorer).

i think the shape of the farthest rear window from the side gives the car a sportier look which is good. OZYTONE hit it on the nose with the rake of the rear window. the concept version was pretty straight up & down as well. that’s part of what makes an SUV an SUV. The BMW X6 is an exception. & who knows– maybe kia will come along with a similar design off the sorento as well. i see that to be fairly easy to do & i picture it looking GOOD!

^^ anyone a photoshop pro that can morph the sorento into an X6-like vehicle? just a thought.

i kinda think people in the 3rd row will feel a little claustrophobic with that huge pillar in their way
