For a SX trim level I sure with it looked more aggressive. It could really use some side skirts….it sits much too high especially in the rear.

I’m hearing conflicting stories about the name. They were leaning toward Forte because the name had meaning…it was Kia’s passage in a new direction/theme. I’m also hearing that the Spectra name is established in the US and they want to keep that momentum. It’s looking like Spectra will stick around. I myself prefer Forte would be perfect for this car seeing as how it’s such a HUGE leap forward for Kia as a company…it just makes sense.

Uh, this is the US SPEC Spectra in the picture. It is called Spectra in the USA, get over it! I also prefer Forte, but face reality, it is the Spectra, and that’s it!

I fine forte and spectra but in UAE it will be called cerato! don’t like that name…

It was smart for KIA Australia to keep the Cerato name over the Forte name, because there was a Ford Falcon that had a model variant called Forte. The narrow mindedness here, people would have immediately thought of that KIA were copying Ford. I personally think its a joke at how highly regarded some car brands are here.

Forte will be the name I am willing to bet, these are only test cars here now.

US: Spectra, Asia: Forte (I have seen it on the Korean Roads), General Market: Cerato. It’s not bad.
It is Spectra. It was unvieled at the DMG Meeting in Las Vegas as the new 2010 Spectra and Spectra Coup

Since it’s a newly-designed bodystyle of the Spectra, why not change it to Forte, Kia dudes? Would’ve dug that so much! Are U.S. people so clingy to the Spectra name?

Does the name really matter? It’s what’s in the SOUL of a car that makes it good. Just look at the Cee’d's latest award (crazy name award winning car). Instead of hoping the cee’d comes to the States, I’m hoping the Spectra has as much Soul in it as the Cee’d.
Greg Says:

The fact that Kia is releasing the SOUL makes that a really confusing sentence.

Yeah, the important thing is the car, true. And it looks so nice. This car should sell well in the U.S., it’s just what the American people and Kia need right now.

There is one in the KIA service bay at SouthPoint KIA in Austin TX and It looks great. It doesn’t have any badge other then KIA so It’s hard to figure out what it was but It’s the same size as the 2009 Model Spectra.
