One of the show stoppers at this year’s, still ongoing, Detroit auto show was most definitely the Soulster concept car from Kia Motors. The Soulster is a small-footprint, front-wheel drive truck, derived from Kia’s new 2010 Soul crossover.

With it’s simple, yet attractive exterior design, the Soulster reminds us of Suzuki Samurai equipped with soft-top, but in a much funkier package. Whether this exciting two-door concept car ever enters the US car market has not been announced, but the right amount of positive feedback could eventually bring it to production sometime in the near future.

Those of you who haven’t seen enough of the topless Soulster yet, here are two more videos from Detroit auto show.

It’s really attractive and I really hope Kia brings it to the market soon. I know it wouldn’t sell in large numbers, but would bring Kia even closer to the youth market.

looks nice from the side and must say that the new feature for embeding youtube.com vids with colour schemes makes it look attractive.

himi, I agree with you, and it is for this reason I think they should build it. So that a new younger generation is turned on to Kia. As a youngster just starting out driving this truck would’ve fit my bill nicely. With a boomin’ Rockford Fosgate stereo and beatiful wheels and tires, I would snap this pup right up. I think a lot of NA-ers would too, including Canada and Mexico. This is the definitive Baja pickup, men.

True Bryan, but production model should retain it’s attractive exterior shape and only minor changes should be made to the interior. The whole point here is that they should not tone down the vehicle as Kia normally does.
