Basically it just drives like a cee’d, which is not bad at all. But the more I see it in real life the more I like the looks of it! Our demo arrives on friday, so I will let you know more as sson as I’ve driven it for a longer period of time!

OzyTone- Your comment reminds me of the unfortunately defunct Delorean Motor Company (the DeLorean is the vehicle used in the Back To The Future films). Mr. Delorean reportedly didn’t like the idea of model years, seeing it as a cheap trick to move vehicles, with little to no benefit to the consumer. If there was a new feature or issue, the manufacturer might not change it until the next “year”, rather than making the change immediately. I know that GM has come out with vehicles as early as March for sale that are the following model year; the Borrego hit our dealership in August of 2008 as a 2009 model. The other option they can do is a “half year” model. The previous “new” Optima was released as a “2006.5″ model. This is actually annoying, as the customer doesn’t always know whether they have the older or newer body style.

Ik drove the Soul yesterday! Both in 1.6 petrol as in 1.6 CRDI, the latter absolutely preferrable!

We got our MY2007 sportage in 2006 September. Anyway, Soul will be a MY2010 in US.

Just a general question about car model years, why do the US persist in calling, in this case the Soul, the “2010 model Soul”?? when it’s only just January 2009???? I know, here for sure it’ll be called a 2009 model. What is it like in the rest of the world?? I know it’s a marketing ploy and the customer thinks,WOW!!! I’ve got a 2010 model car and it’s just into ’09. I know the practice has started to creep in here in Australia, but at least it’s left to the last month of the year, not the first.

BJD(Boris), Its just that if you were to do the conversion to AUD$ and add in the markup in price, it will be exceeding the Cerato’s price. I’m not sure people would want to pay that much when they could have the bigger more powerful Cerato for similar $$$.

About towing with the Soul. I have been towing a small 1400 lbs. camping trailer for years with our 2004 Elantra. I believe that Soul and Elantra share the same running gear. 2l motor etc. My Elantra is rated at 1874 lbs. towing. The later Elantra is rated at 1500 lbs.
