This is another official Kia document that reveals us the pricing for the upcoming Kia Soul crossover. It was issued by Kia Motors America soon after a successful Soul debut at the 2008 Los Angeles auto show and sent to all dealers across the USA.
Due to hit US dealerships in March next year, the Soul will have a really attractive entry level price of $13,995, while the top of the range Kia Soul Sport will be priced at $17,900.

What does it mean by “Speaker lamps”?
December 31st, 2008 at 11:50 am
The LED red lights flasing like the Korean version or… umm…. I dunno what else it can be.
December 31st, 2008 at 12:09 pm
Well, maybe the rumors are wrong, I mean, this is directly from Kia.
December 31st, 2008 at 4:17 pm
could be…..
December 31st, 2008 at 4:52 pm
Yeah, the speaker lamps must be the red lights around the edge of the speakers. I would go for that, for sure.
December 31st, 2008 at 8:42 pm
Where did you get the pricing list from?
December 31st, 2008 at 9:18 pm
Kia America probably sent it to him. Anyway, see you all next year!!!
December 31st, 2008 at 10:26 pm
The Soul pricing list and memo letter was sent to all US Kia dealers last week.
January 1st, 2009 at 4:30 am
The pricing list should be made public knowledge? If it was sent to the dealership, it should remain secret? Some things should be public knowledge while other things should be kept secret..

sooo i want a soul sport but with the houndstooth interior but it doesn’t sound like that’ll be possible.
sad.
January 1st, 2009 at 8:40 am
Wait, you want the houndstooth, or not? Sport has black/red interior, not houndstooth.
January 1st, 2009 at 9:21 pm
The MSRP should be public, not the invoice at this point in the vehicles production. Selling vehicles at invoice is what it is but a car like the Soul should not have to be discounted to sell them.

The engines it’s a few choice , with the line-up limited to a 1.6 petrol and 1.6 diesel
January 3rd, 2009 at 11:19 pm
And where are you? In some countries it comes with a 2.0 gasoline and a 2.0 diesel.
January 4th, 2009 at 3:17 am
Europe gets only the 1.6 units.
January 4th, 2009 at 6:03 pm
Malta europe , in europe gets only 1.6 .
January 4th, 2009 at 10:56 pm
I have heard that later this year Soul will also get 1,4 engines in Europe. Don’t know if it’s true, but would be nice to have it here. Smaller engine woul bring Soul’s high European price down for about 1000 Eur.

HO-lee SH….. uhhh…. WOW! I had expected the Soul high end package to come in at 18,500 USD, plus goodies. Looks like the Exclaim and Sport models have everything, pretty-much, though I wonder how much the sunroof would be extra on t he Sport. But coming in at 17,900 USD (less, if my negotiating skills are as good as ever), is a wonderful surprise!
I am SO tempted to buy a Soul Sport in the Spring. I fell in love with the Soul the moment I first saw a concept photo. I wonder if they’ll release a hybrid into the US market, and when… THAT would get me into the dealership on Day 1.
Thanks, himi!
January 5th, 2009 at 5:21 am
Oh wait – I see the moonroof on the pricing document! Well! I’m betting I can get that included at 18K out the door. We’ll see. Oh, MAN this is a dilemma – my Dream Car, only I wish it were a hybrid…
January 5th, 2009 at 1:16 pm
Hybrids are bad for the environment. Did you not read the story on the blog!? Driving a hybrid is worst things you can do, and you have to drive over 1,000,000 miles to actually get your money’s worth. They are a short term gain long term loss.
January 5th, 2009 at 1:30 pm
yeah. click on my name. its linked to that article on the forums.
January 5th, 2009 at 4:29 pm
The making of a Hybrid Battery Causes more harm to the environment than the good it does in the car.
January 5th, 2009 at 5:08 pm
ISG systems in engines are better.
January 5th, 2009 at 6:57 pm
Hybrids are overhyped. The Kia Soul does NOT need a hybrid. It does not make money sense and if they added a hybrid to the Soul it would miss the price point Kia is targeting.
January 5th, 2009 at 7:43 pm
They are so overhyped the term hybrid has become synonymous with gas-electric hybrids. A hybrid vehicle has two separate power sources.
January 6th, 2009 at 2:04 pm
I’ve seen the Soul European spec. it’s a funny car but it have a small trunk. Next week we get one in the showroom and one to drive with.
January 6th, 2009 at 2:46 pm
Hey D, what dealership are you from?
January 6th, 2009 at 5:04 pm
BAC, and you
January 6th, 2009 at 7:19 pm
Wilrijk? Than you just picked the Picanto today? It’s a real small world…
