At the moment, Kia Motors operates only one manufacturing plant in Europe, but the ambitious Korean company might soon add another one. Today, we have heared some news that Kia has been considering to build a new engine plant with a capacity of 300,000 engines.
The decision whether Kia plant gets green light is expected to be announced by the end of this year. If the investment gets approved, it will cost Kia between 100 and 200 million Euros and should be completed by 2011. In it’s new new engine plant the company would produce small four-cylinder engines destined to European and Russian market.
“The investment is being currently considered and the decision is expected to be announced by the end of 2008,” told company’s spokesman Dusan Dvorak. He also added that Kia’s European car production for this year will be slightly below 210,000 vehicles, against the originally planned 220,000, as a result of falling demand in Europe.

In my opinion, the people from KIA match perfect with Slovakian culture,so that will assure the oxigen necessary for overcoming these crisis. Korean people are used with crisis situation, which forced them to think & find solutions, unlike the americans, which live in the past (3 Big companies, who are now begging for govt. help).
