It’s cool, as they say, to be able to personalise your Soul, but the problem is that you’ve gotta go to the dealer and order your specific and one and only Soul and it will take 3 months to order, build and manufacture and get it back to you, and longer if this model is really really popular. Of course to overcome this Kia would most probably have worked out the most popular color, engine, transmission, wheel, graphic, seat and trim color combinations…..maybe.
This was one reason paint color, upholstery and trim color combinations were more standardized in recent years, because of ease of manufacture mainly, but you didn’t get anybodys whacky way out perceptions of what colours looked good together. After all the manufacturer wants their cars to look good on the road so other people will buy them. Because people will say…..WOW!!, that looks great, I might buy one that looks just like it. The manufacturer, Kia in this case doesn’t won’t a whole heap of potential customers saying……..YUUUUUUUKKKKK!!!!, you wouldn’t catch me dead in one of those. So I would imagine the color combinations won’t be endless. For instance, if you buy a blue car, you’ll be limited to blue or black or red trim and upholstery and not be able to get brown or dark tan upholstery. There will be limitations….I hope!!

You don’t have to be clean cut to be brilliant, it’s all to do with what’s in between the ears that counts.
Look at Leonardo da Vinca, Albert Einstein, Benjamin Franklin, Abraham Lincoln, just to name a few, not a clean shaven one among them……..so where does that leave me?? Hmmmmm, somewhere in between.

hi, there is a confugurator of the soul in the french KIA page, http://www.kiasoul.fr/, the new thing about this is that it shows the final price of the configuration. Of course those prices are only for france, but they give a hint about what the price in the surrounding countries would be, you can judge for yourself.

There is real buzz around the Soul, and I hope it’s a success for Kia. Mike seems like a lively guy, and seems to enjoy his work.
Let’s see what happens in the spring when Soul hits dealerships.

I wasn’t trying to be rude or anything, my point being, if your going to do a press video like this, you should at least clean up a little so that you can be taken more seriously. That’s all.
Mike, if that beard is real, it is FANTASTIC! I’m glad Kia has caught on to the “customize” idea that Scion (and later Volvo on the C30) have been encouraging. Go Soul! I can’t wait until we get these!

Things are a lot more casual these days Martin, and believe me I come from the older era, but if you roll up anywhere for a new job even, in a “bag of fruit”(suit) they look at you sort of strange these days.

This video was shown during the Soul press conference at the LA Auto Show. It got a good response. It fit in with the whole look and feel of the youthfulness of the vehicle. Yes, the beard is real.
