The higly anticipated Kia Soul has not yet gone on sale, nor has it officially been released to the public, but plenty of official information already popped up to the web. The latest in a series of leaked information, and hopefully not last, is the Soul pricing information that you can see below. This is the complete pricing information for all trim levels of the Kia Soul in South Korea.

As you will see the pricing for the new hotnes from Kia is very reasonable for Korean market with a base price settled at 12,900,000Won (about $11,318), while the top of the line Soul, equipped with 1,6L diesel engine and 2,0L gasoline engine, will sell for 20,950,000Won ($18,382) and 18,900,000 ($16,583) respectively.

Available in U, 2U and 4U trim packages, there will be a choice of three four-cylinder engines, depending on market: the 1,6L diesel engine producing 128hp and two four-cylinder gasoline engines generating 124 and 143 horsepower respectively. Kia will also offer to the customers a slew of exterior cosmetic options, such as “Burner” style alloy-wheels, rear spoiler, different types of exterior decals and bumper skirt at front and rear.

The Soul will first go on sale in South Korea by November 2008, while it’s overseas sales is scheduled to commence early next year. Starting in Europe in February, the sales will then expand to US (in April) and other world markets. Kia will officially take the wraps of the Soul next month, at the 2008 Paris Auto Show, so stay tuned to get all the latest news and information!

1.6L four-cylinder (124hp) gasoline engine:

Soul U 12,900,000…….$11,318

Soul 2U 15,700,000…..$13,775

Soul 4U 18,350,000…..$16,100

2,0L four-cylinder (143hp) gasoline engine:

Soul 2U 16,850,000…….$14,784

Soul 4U 18,900,000….$16,583

1,6L four cylinder (128hp) diesel engine:

Soul U 15,300,000…….$13,424

Soul 2U 17,450,000…..$15,311

Soul 4U 20,950,000….$18,382

Due to different pricing strategy, it’s still too early to draw any conclusions as what this means to U.S. Soul pricing. From my point of view, the estimated US price for a base Kia Soul would likely be close to $14.000, while the price of loaded model will probably stay below $20.000 mark.

Accessories:

12.jpgFront, rear and side skirts: 500,000won or $438

21.jpg
Side marker and alloy fuel filler door 150,000 or $131

2083768840_881889d4_5-1vert.jpg
“Burner” style 18-inch alloys 600,000won or $526
Rear spoiler 100,000won or $87
Aluminium pedals 150,000won or $131

Please note: Again, I’d like to point out that the Soul pricing for US and Europe will possibly differ from Korean, mainly due to different tax system and different pricing strategies.

If someone could find out the prices of eg. a sportage in Korea we could have a better idea of the pricing in overseas/local markets…

LOL. top of range without 2.0L would be quiet, errr….
anyway. my coversions say that the top of range 1.6 petrol is ’round Dhs 60, 000 and top of range 2.0 is ’round Dhs62, 000. I’m not saying that pprice will be same in Dubai. different specs etc. will result in a diferent price but this [Dhs 62k] is 10, 000 dirhams less than sportage.

The conversions of the Korean prices to US actually seem accurate. Atleast thats what I was expecting the price to fall at.

So the base price would be 1,000 US dollars less than Base Rio? That’s doubtful. I would say that the US base price would be about $13,500 and the loaded price would be about $21,500. You can see the specs of the 2009 Rio at Kia’s US website. It has Sirius Satellite radio.

And a loaded Soul for US $21,500 would be fair deal, IMO, too.

I haven’t been paying a whole lot of attention, has Soul been confirmed or not for Australia?

It will make it to Australia eventually. It is planned to be distributed worldwide.

they were testing prototypes down here sometime during the development so one would assume so… hope they were doing what they did with the Hyundai i30 and got a suspension dude to tune it for our roads…

Do your roads suck as bad as the USA’s? 88% of our infrastructure is over 50 years old. Dams are bad, bridges are bad, interstate highways are getting bad too. What next??

Might this be next? Casey Anthony finally admits that she accidently killed her daughter, Caylee Anthony. So Nancy Grace can re-align her universal stars and move on to something else to annoy everybody with on her TV show on Headline News Network.

Wow. What the hell did I miss?

Greg, tune in to cable/satellite feed Headline News about 7:00PM or so…whenever Nancy Grace’s show is on. It’s about a 3 year old girl who is missing in Florida. The mom, Casey Anthony, claims she doesn’t know where the hell her daughter is. She has said “the babysitter took her.” The babysitter is no where to be found, either. Casey claims she has worked places she hasn’t, etc., so she has a problem with being a liar. Nancy Grace is interested because she just had twins a few months ago, and she wants to help find the 3 year old. The Mom, Caylee Anthony, has a late model white Chevy Cavalier the cops have had a K-9 sniff out and they have found “decomposing human remain smells” in the truck of her car. So there you go, I have actually gotten hooked on watching this whole mystery go down(it’sgone on about two months now at least!!). Casey hs been arrested and then bailed out of jail several times already…this whole thing just goes on and on, many people are wanting her charged with murder but the cops can’t find enough evidence to charge her with murder. Just stuff like “child endangerment” and so forth. It’s quite entertaining.

Can you tell me more of how did Hyundai tune the suspenssion for the i30 in Australia, Pat? I know I heard this somewhere, but never got any details.
Is it more European or softer, like Koreans have?

I’d be surprised to see pricing of a loaded Soul go as high as 21.5k. That would put the vehicle way into territory it’s not intended to compete in. A loaded 2009 Honda Fit with Nav comes in at 19.5K and the Soul looks to be occupying the same product space (within a much funkier look). Nitpicking aside, we probably wont get the lowest end models in the US, but I don’t imagine a fairly loaded Soul going for much more than the Soul $U model mentioned above with the 2.0 engine. Some of that will depend on what options actually make it stateside,
