Wonder where they were headed. The soul looks really great in white cuz of the black accents. Really a great happy
co-incidence that the soul and forte were driving on the same road as this person who filmed it.

ya know, it REALLY does hold a lot of the concept’s character & shape - i’m really happy about that. still praying for a NAV, tho…

This really is a nice find. I’m excited to start reading some reviews of the Forte once it goes on sale. It really is a great looking car. I just hoe the fit/finish/ride/handling do justice to the pics I’ve seen so far.

The rear end of Forte looks really great… Even more appealing than on the images we have seen so far.
I’m sure it will have great built quality, but wonder how the ride will be.
The Forte does share its platform with the cee’d, which really offers sporty ride, but suspension setup on Hyundai-Kia cars destined for American market ussually differs a little bit from those heading to EU and is adjusted to offer more comfort than a sporty ride.
    What’s your opinion on that?

I think your right Himi, about the ride going soft when they send the Forte to the United States. I just hope that Australia at least will get the more sporty setup though, but probably won’t unfortunately. Odd really you would think that in Australia and the United States that because we are offered the more powerful engines 1.8L - 2.0L compared the the smaller 1.6L engines offered in European spec cars for example, that we don’t get the sportier ride to cooperate better with the extra power.

Both the Soul and Forte looked good! I was more impressed with the Soul because the rear end looks big. While the Forte is nicer looking than the Civic and Carola. The Forte seems to be a cross between a Civic and Accord. But both look really good.

My guess is that the Forte will do very well in the US, but the Soul will do better in Europe because it is different looking.

    Two great econmy cars!

A little off topic but I hope the US start making good small cars also. While Kia has put themselves in a good possition.

When I first saw Soul concept. I was horrified. I guess the look really has to grow on you. Jut like the Rondo. When Rondo came out, I thought the back end was ugly. I really love the forte. If it comes with options equal to those on our Optima, mom wants one. Then again, what Kia doesn’t mom want. She has come within pen strokes of buying every Kia except the rio.

When I saw the soul concept I LOVED it! But the pre-production models which appeared in spyshots didnt appeal to me [maybe cuz of the smaller wheels] but now I love it more than any other Kia in Kia’s current line-up. Took some time for the design to grow on me.

Perhaps Kia follows Hyundai and tunes suspension setup on its upcoming cars to suit Australian tasets. I know Hyundai did this on its award-winning i30 hatch. The car has seen a remarkable response from Australian consumers and already became one of the most desirable Hyundai models in the country.
It has also won the Car of the year award in Australia.
Perhaps Forte or Soul repeat this achievement next year! :)

Hope so, because for the Soul or Forte to win Australia’s Car of the Year award would be such a good thing for the Kia image here in Australia.

I read some test drive review of Forte (Korean one), the tester said that it has hard suspension.
Harder than Hyundai Elantra HD, which shares its platform with Forte.
Since it looks more sportier, I guess that Forte will go for sporty suspension.
So, Forte would be like i30 sus or harder than that.
