that colour is also available on sorento. premium brown. seems like fog ligts will be optional. I hope they will offer a good auto tranny. at least 5-speed if not 6. parking sensors… I hope that not too much to ask for…
    O I’m so excited!!!

after staring @ the pix for nearly 20 minutes to examine the differences i see the following…

-red one has fogs, whites doesn’t
-red one has a black matte finish around blinkers, white doesn’t
-roof rails on red, not white
-brown dash on red, black on white
-red has fender blinker mounted in, white has black fender vent (maybe they’re optional? more variety to differ the cars)
-17/18″ wheels on red one, smaller (probably 15 or 16 on the white. it was reported 18’s would be optional)
-the headlights have a chrome accent look on the red one & are “normal” on the white
-the lisense plate mounts are different sizes- european on the red, smaller (american) on the white. [thats upsetting to me because that could mean the differences between the two could simply be the USA version and the EU version. if the red’s the EU version, i want that one.]

…someone comment if they see anything else… i think i might have covered it all tho as i don’t see anymore.

The european one seems to be a higher spec model. meaning top of the range. I think U.S will also get those options which r seen on the red. ANd yes the indicators are optional. Seems all Kias have that fender mounted indicator optional. Although U.S gets them standard, the soulseems to have it optional even for U.S. I dont get why roof rails are optional. not that ppl will use them, it makes the car look better and I’ve noticed that the red one has got chrome door handles.

Is that the secret mpv behind the red one or is that the Rondo?

    It’s the Rondo.

The white is probably for US, since as Josh’s keen eyes point out the difference in the license/ number plate size, as well as the white has the front reflector, and the red has the side indicator (which we don’t have on any current vehicles in the US until the 2009 Borrego arrives). If not for the number plates and side indicators, my guess would’ve been the red is an EX trim and the white the LX trim (LX is the base for most US Kias, EX the higher level, and where applicable (Spectra and Rio for the current models) the SX is “sporty”). It’s interesting that in both pictures there’s a Rondo behind the Soul. Also, the picture of the white Soul looks like it’s got a Valvoline guy underneath. That means it’ll be screwed up! I say that as a joke, but at my dealership, almost every vehicle that comes in that has had the quick lube places do their oil changes usually has something wrong with the oil pan and/ or oil drain plug, and sometimes other issues as well. We just had an Amanti with the 3.8L in that had old oil all over the top of the transmission case because the previous oil changers didn’t change the o-ring seals on the oil filter (which on the 3.8L is a paper cartridge in the top). That was about an hour more work to remove parts and clean all the oil off!
Himi-keep the pics of this baby without camo coming! :)

I think we in UAE get the red one coz we dont get those orange reflectors.
    .
I’ve noticed that the red one has got a black strip along the bottom of the bumper and along the bottom edge on the sides. looks sportier!

The red one also appears to have a faux-aluminum A-pillar on the outside while the white one has black A-pillars. I’d take the red one here over the white one. I am certainly partial to red vehicles and this new Kia Soul has a nice shade of red to display. Looks great!

Anyone know if the Kia Soul is coming to Canada or not? If yes, when will it come? I really want to get it, but I have not read anywhere about it being available in Canada.

Kia Soul is coming to Canda!
It will be officialy unveiled at Paris Auto Show in October. So far we have not been told when exactly the Soul goes on sale in US and Canada, but it should be avaliable early in the 2009. As soon as we get the info, I’ll post it on the blog!

Wish it was but, its actually a white cover [stiker].
    .
And anthony, the soul will be available in all of Kia’s markets. Europe, Asia, Mid-East, North America, SOuth America, Australia. Africa and of course, Kia’s latest Market: the one and only… Antarctica! LOL, just kidding. Even if it was sold there, I dont think penguins will want it. cuz it wont be able to tackle the antarctic terrains… :D

Alright now its obvious the white one is for the US and the red is a Euro model. For one US regulations require amber side markers/corner lamps and second just check out the license plate holders. The white one is made for US plates and the red has the long slim space for a Euro license plate.

That being said, KIA would be STUPID not to offer a higher end model similar to the red one. The bigger rims, fog lights, roof rails, and the brown interior are some stuff that we’d like here in the states.

I’m very sure Kia will offer the higher end model in the states. dont see why they wouldnt.
