Kia Forte is back! Last month, we were initially teased with an image showing the side profile of the upcoming Forte sedan, and today, another teaser shot surfaced throughout the web. This latest image gives you a brief peek of Forte’s front fascia, which features the  H-pattern grille and Civic-like headlights.

New Kia Forte takes many of its styling cues from the KOUP concept, that debuted at New York International Auto Show and signals new design direction for Kia brand.

As you already know, the Forte sedan will be replacing aging Kia Spectra, called also as Cerato in some overseas markets. It’s Korean premiere is scheduled for August 21st, and that’s when more details will be revealed.

UPDATE: Check out the official images of the 2010 Kia Forte; released by Kia Motors today!!!

This one doesnt look like a sketch. It must be a pic of the real thing.

I’m really shocked to see it hardly watered down from its concept.

In Kia’s world [not refering to this blog], the production model always retains its concepts lines [except borrego].

Thank you Richard! Here is the enhanced image Richard sent to me. On his pic you can see the place for the licence plate and the H-shapped grille, which could be either black or chromed.

But it definately looks very much like the Koup. The front lights and grille are carried from the concept car.

The only thing that comes clearer in the edited pic is the licence plate holder. Nice try though :)

Rondo never really had the multi-s’ concept lines. The Multi-S was muscalar with sytlish headlights and tail lights. Rondo’s headlights is nothing eye catching. Borrego at least had the Mesa’s headlights and kept the muscalar structure the only differance is the Borrego’s green house is a little diffrent and that’s probably to make it lighter.

Should I go to the Cee’d and Pro-Cee’d concepts while the production models are more watered down than the TD from the Koup concept?

The only Kia’s that seem to be very close to the concept so far seems to be Soul and TD.

wow the grille looks like its made of black chrome! my favourite!!!

  13. JoshyLofty Says:

    June 24th, 2008 at 5:58 pm

i noticed the black chrome as well! if its not actual black chrome (which is HOT), it’ll prob be a high-gloss black plastic like whats on the front of the GTI & Jetta GLI. NOT a bad thing. I think the SX would be nice in black with the “H” grill in a high gloss red or something & maybe some red trim on the trunk. just a little sporty color contrast like some other brands do.

also, my theory on why some concepts make it more to production than others is because the other’s were PRE-schreyer and the other 3 (soul, borrego, spectra/forte) are after p.schreyer (sp?) started working with them. just a thought.

what an incredible ripoff of a civic…

  15. Colby Says:

    June 24th, 2008 at 7:58 pm

the only thing similar is the skinny head lights. The styling has its own look. The civic is long and drawn out while the Forte is More muscular looking. It has a short stubby front and a thick body giving it a more aggressive apprence. The skinny lights look to be on most of the future Kia’s. I see Honda’s every day since there is a Honda Dealer 100 feet from our store and the new Spectra doesn’t resemble it at all.

  16. Colby Says:

    June 24th, 2008 at 8:02 pm

Besides I think the new Civic is a “fad” design and I personally believe Honda Civic and new Accord are ugly. Look at the Pontiac Aztec and how it failed. People though it was so cool for 2-3 years, now you can’t give one away to a customer if it was free.

  17. K-Sport (Boris) Says:

    June 24th, 2008 at 8:30 pm

Well the civic meets my taste. The only reason I hated is because… well actually I recently found out, that I didnt hate it at all. I think I was just jealous because it is so cool. Hey, no offence. just my personal tastes and opinions.

  18. Mero Says:

First of all, PEOPLE NEVER THOUGHT THE AZTEC WAS COOL! just ask GM who still has a number of them sitting unsold on many of their corporate facilities.

And looking at this teaser I am left asking, “Honda Civic is that you?!?”

This car looks like the Kia Optima where they took a car and photoshopped some changes and then put it into production. ( The Kia Optima is very much an Acura TSX that has been distorted in photoshop with lexus headlamps added on. just compare for your self.)

Gm sucks in quality and the way they build there cars. the japanese auto makers like honda, toyota, and mazda have wayyyyy better quality in there engines and the way they design the cars and fuel effcency. gm needs to do a better job.

Now the 2nd Spectra has been around since 2004 right. If you noticed they made the body muscular and sharper. By looking at the TD you can tell it’s the Spectra with cues from the 2nd gen Spectra that just envoloved. The 2nd gen spectra always had horizional headlights and the next Spectra is gonna continue where it left off.

This TD-2009 Kia Spectra looks so awesome. This car is going to rock the stadium like Foghat did in the glorious, rocking 70’s. I need to see the whole vehicle in all it’s glorious detail. Flowing in to one beautiful, foreign car. A car to buy and a car to enjoy!

You know the new Accord’s style is not all that unique. When I first saw it the Saturn Aura was the first thing it reminded me off. As for the new Civic’s face, it reminded me of the Saturn Icon C segment sedan. And speaking of Honda’s styling why does the new Pilot look so much like the Jeep Liberty?

  26. JTZ Says:

    June 26th, 2008 at 11:18 pm

And why on earth does the Pilot’s interior look like vomit? It looks like something from 1996 what a cheap looking interior. The Soul Burner’s interior looks better than that and it’s just an entry level SUV.

  27. JTZ Says:

    June 26th, 2008 at 11:25 pm

The new Pilot also looks like the GM van for Pontiac, Buick and Chevy. Honda’s are not all that original either.

  28. JTZ Says:

    June 26th, 2008 at 11:28 pm

And at least Hyundai is producing IT’S own hybrids and not being like the manufactors from Japan. Oh yeah Pilot’s mpg is hardly better than Borrego’s. Is the Pilot heavy or what?

  29. Greg Says:

    June 27th, 2008 at 4:04 am

No, the Pilot isn’t heavy. It just has a terribly engineered engine. Like all Hondas, it is just a Japanese piece of shit.
