Yep, it’s better than burying their heads in the proverbial sand and just quitting. Believe me, Kia is feisty enough to only want to succeed more. I learned long ago that these guys are serious worldwide automotive competitors.

Hyundai has a lot of money on offer and if Kia was low on funds then how are they sponsering so many events? Anyway, atleast they’re doing SOMETHING by following; better than not at all following.

but boris is right. kia needs to bring its technology up to date. im sure they will have some really advanced stuff in a few years like Hyundai’s $160,000,000 USD investment in fibre optics (the fastest way to transfer info on the planet) but they need to be pioneers! whats the point of following other companies’ stuff? we wouldnt have stuff like the parking sensors, abs, esp, sat nav, etc. if no one thought of it. this also applies to design. bmw’s 5 series was seen to be really radical cos the headlights “went around to the sides to much” but now if you dont have long headlamps, it looks crap. trends should be SET not followed…

but hydrogen technology is certainly top notch by hyundai-kia. remember that tucson/sportage that beat all the others in NVH tests and stuff???? =]

of course borrego will bet it std. Its a luxury veh. like opirus but We cant afford borrego and dont want it because [besides Fuel prices] parking spaces are getting less and Its getting tough to even drive sportage in certain places in DUbai. Thats why we dont want to replace maz6 with another sedan, but instead a flexible SOUL that will be able to cope with the crowded parking spaces. no lotze or Borrego needed.

I think the idea is that Kia doesn’t want to be the leader in innovative technologies, but they prefer to use only technologies which have proven their efficiency, reliability and durability.

Honestly, Kia needs to hit the fast forward button. Besides the fact that they dont offer as much in the global market as they do in the Korean market. Kia is still at keeping backing-up sensors and cruise cont optional while other brands are not only standardising these features, but offering systems that alert you when your going out of the lane brake when you get too close to the car in front of you and self paraking systems. Kia also have Hyundai to back them up with money.

It may sound impatient but I want Kia to stay competetive in technology and other stuff as well; not just price and warranty…
