Both companies are doing very good this year! Imagine Kia’s sales skyroketing when Soul and TD hit the market next year. And there’s more. H-K are preparing to launch new models, such as facelifted Rio, new Kia minivan based on Soul’s platform and Hyundai’s adding new i20 to it’s hot line-up.
So, we are going to see at least three small and fuel efficient cars debuting just at the time of increasing gas prices. The timing couldn’t be better!

Guess what went through my mind when you said “small and fuel efficient cars”…”timing couldn’t be better!”.
I saw a borrego off-roading in a scrap yard and one of giant electro-magnets striped it.
Did you see the MPG? Greg posted it on the forums. toooooo average.

What else did you expect Boris? Engineers can’t do any wonders out of V6 or V8! As we mentioned in the forums, the only way to long-term Borrego success is a Borrego version with diesel engine or a hybrid!

    Or a diesel hybrid!

Actually, they have the 3.0L diesel that’s rumored to be coming to America in 2010, and with the Rio and Accent (petrol/ gas) hybrids in Korea, they could possibly figure out how to combine these two technologies in a diesel hybrid. I wish they could get something past that oppressive Tier 2 Bin 5 restriction. I imagine the 2.0L and 2.5L diesels used in the European line up would definitely impress people in the USA when they saw the miles per gallon figures they’re capable of, and if you add hybrid tech to that, it’d increase the mpg even more!

That diesel engine is not a rumor it’s a fact.

hmm. I’m thinking that 28 MPG roumor could be for the diesel engine.
