2010 Kia Soul
Geneva Motor Show gave us the first opportunity to get close to the exciting trio of Kia Soul concepts. With funky looking Kia Soul Searcher, Soul Diva and Soul Burner, we have been given a taste of what the production version of Kia Soul will look like when it makes an International debut at Paris Motor Show later this year.
Today, we are further fueling the excitement by revealing our latest series of spy shots showing you exclusive preview of the production ready Kia Soul.
Kia’s sharply-stylish new segment-busting Soul is set to win over minds as well as hearts at the Paris Salon de l’Automobile in October (where it will make it’s official world debut), with confirmation that the urban crossover will come to Europe next year with a choice of fuel-efficient petrol and diesel engines.
Kia Soul is a five-door hatchback with front-wheel drive, a high roofline and an unusually long wheelbase. The key elements behind Soul’s striking appearance are its vertical measurements. Overall height is 1,610 mm but the base of the windscreen is 135 mm higher than a typical compact car, the hip-points are 120 mm higher and the ground clearance is raised by 45 mm.
Access to the new Kia Soul’s spacious interior is remarkably easy and the cabin will deliver head, leg and shoulder room that matches or beats many larger vehicles. Generous headroom (1020/1005 mm front/rear), legroom (1070/990 mm front/rear) and shoulder room (1403/1400 mm front/rear) will ensure Soul can easily adapt to the changing demands of its owner when pressed into giving friends or family a lift!
Kia Soul will go on sale in mainland Europe next February with a choice 126 ps diesel and petrol engines. The 1,6L diesel engine generates 126 ps at 4,000 rpm and maximum torque of 255 Nm at 2,000 rpm, while the all-aluminium petrol engine also produces 126 ps at 6,300 rpm and 156 Nm of torque at 4,200 rpm.
Engines fitted to the Kia Soul will be based on those already found on a hugely successful, European-built, Kia cee’d. Kia Soul will also have choice of manual or automatic transmissions, depending on model. Right-hand drive production is due to start in March.

Let’s make this clear. First two shots show the production version of Kia Soul, third pics is obviously a spy shot of interior and last one is a photohop based on Kia Soul Diva.

yes I agree the first 3 are the real deal the last one is an awesome photoshop. If you didn’t have the diva pics I would swear it was the real deal. and I think a lot of other web blogs think it is real.

Very nice car and this is from someone who wouldn’t have considered Kia previously. Lots of attention to style, customization makes it fun, and with a price starting in the teens, the Kia Soul should give Scion a run for the customers.

Well, the base concept is similar as by Scion. It’s a little box, but in my humble opinion, the Soul looks much better than Scion, especially inside, where it has very elegantly designed interior.

Wow! I want one NOW! I have been looking at the Scion XB, but the Soul is much cooler looking. I hope the Burner model will be available in the bright green color shown in the tv adds! I will definately be checking this car out when it is available, and it sounds like it will be here right about the time I will be ready to buy a new vehicle. It might end up being my second KIA vehicle, previosly I had a Sportage and was very happy with it.

Yeah, we’re getting the very firs Kia Soul in a few weeks at the dealership I work at to show off before the initial release date. I’m pumped because it’s finally a “cool” looking Kia. Here’s hoping the Koup is next arriving!

What ever dude. You are probably one of those people who say that the Sorento looks like an Accord, lol. Any Adam, the Koup will be arriving 5-6 months after new Spectra is released.

Um yeah, but the xB isn’t really that fabulous is it? And the Soul doesn’t really look much like it either, except in a very general sense. The second generation xB never really captured anyone imagination, and that’s the opinion of a lot of car reviewers.
The Soul has a lot of people excited, even people that never considered buying a Kia before. Why would the Koreans model the Soul after a car nobody really got excited about?

I just saw your commercial for the Soul which shows the rapist/killer appraoching the unsuspecting cottage full of college-aged girls. I found the commercial to be disturbing, distasteful and completely inappropriate. Surely there are better ways to convey the message. Whoever thought up that commercial should be sent for a psychological assessment and sensivity training. Anyone that has ever had a sister, daughter or friend victimized by a sexual attack or violent crime will most certainly find the advertisement offensive and in poor taste. Count me among those that supports a boycott of Kia vehicles until this commercial is removed from the airways.

if you register with Kia they have online video’s on the Soul and how to program the bluetooth. There are three language selections with English. Spanish, or French

I was at the Central Florida Car Show, in November, staffing the Kia Display. The Soul was very well received by people of all ages, including current Scion xb fanatics. Now that the vehicle is on the ground and I’ve had the opportunity to drive it, I can say that the Soul is an awesome car!

I am a mailcarrier in TX. I am very interested in the kia soul for my job I am willing to buy new but i have talked to a couple of dealers here and they say it is impossible to get one sent here with right hand drive!! My question to that is…why?
