South Korea’s second-largest carmaker, Kia Motors Corp, said on Monday that sales in November increased 4 percent from a year ago as higher exports offset sluggish domestic sales.
Kia sold 137,813 vehicles last month, down 2.1 percent from October. Exports rose 5.7 percent from a year ago to 112,611 units, thanks to strong sales in Europe from its Slovakia plant.
Domestic sales declined 3.1 percent to 25,202 units. But sales of its recreational vehicles rose sharply, allowing Kia to reclaim leadership of this market from affiliate Hyundai Motor with 41.3 percent share.
“High oil prices sparked strong demand for our Carens recreational vehicle model which uses liquefied petroleum gas,” the company said in a statement. For the 11 months to November, Kia’s sales were up 9 percent to 1.24 million units.

A 9% increase as compared to last year’s sales through November is good! Keep it up Kia!

High oil prices won’t deminish US sales that much since Kia has a good advantage by having lower pricing on its vehicles. Kia of West Chester #1 in the US North East again last month go ME and my sales crew.

My store is only three years old. First year we sold 500, last year we sold 900, so far this year we are at like 920 or so. We had a rough start this year. me especialy, I usually sell between 15-22 new Kia’s a month, but in january and Feb. I only sold 11 Due to personal problems that came up. I missed about 1 month at work. had I been there the whole 2 months I am sure I would be a few spots higher and closer to 200 cars out for the year.

The most popular ones are the Spectra, Optima, and Sprotage. We usually sell 30-40 Spectras and 20-40 Sportages. The rest are an even mix of everything else. I try to just sell what pay me the best
Kia US pays a “spin” on certain cars we sell. Like this month Spectra, Optima and Sportages pay me an additional $150 USD per one I sell.
