Though the exterior of Kia Borrego has been already shown at official Kia teaser shots, the interior has remained much more elusive.
A keen KIA-WORLD blog reader sent us an interior spy picture which is believed to be the Borrego (Mohave) interior.
As the new Borrego’s official debut looms closer, more and more vehicle details have been turning up and we are closely watching not to miss any of them.

All I can say is——WOW! I love it!

Even though Kia is hiding this more than Hyundai was with the Veracruz (a year ago), this interior is nice (at least the vents and radio). I was hoping for a chrome like radio to match the vents.

The bonnet(hood) of the Borrego is also open and I love the look of that blue. I think its the same blue which is offered on sportage. The interior is nice and simple, easy on the eyes with that aluminium and wood finish. and as for interior quality matej talked about – Kia’s interior quality has been improved a lot over the years. I have a ’07 sportage and the plastics and leather are so easy to clean and the leather is increadibly soft (softer than a lexus’ leather. and I mean it. It is softer that a lexus’). actually the seats are half leather and half fabric. on most cars the fabrics are usually very rough and hard but sportage’s fabric is soft as leather.

Hate to burst your bubble, but the blue is just a cover. I would hope it’s a cover with all of the wrinkles in it! Our Optima has black leather interior, softer than a babys bottom! BTW, Boris, where do you live, and what trim is the Sportage? LX I4 M/T 4×2; LX I4 A/T 4×2; LX I4 A/T 4×4; LX V6 A/T 4×2; LX V6 A/T 4×4; EX I4 A/T 4×2; EX I4 A/T 4×4; EX V6 A/T 4×2; and finally EX V6 A/T 4×4. WOW there is a lot of choices aren’t there? Anyway, let me know, thanks. The Boreggo is silver by the way. Love the woodgrain!

I live in Dubai, UAE. this is ONE of the best place to see cars outside its motorshows (infact the motorshows over here dont display all the brands in the area. For exapmple this year’s motorshow, dissapointingly, didn’t display KIA and PORCHE). Tax is so low here that almost anyone can afford a car (and you need one in this hot desert. U know…the A/C). I have a Black ’07 Sportage. There are no trims offered only on Sportage here in UAE (atleast, its not badged as LX or EX). Its the 2.0L I4 petrol engine with 4×4 and A/T. and this was a Sportage from the first Batch of the imported ’07 Sportage according to the dealer. And its interior is beige. I like every single thing about Spotage except the fuel consumption and the wood finish – the wood feels nice and smooth but doesn’t look real enough. but thats a very silly thing to complain about, so forget it. anyway, Borrego’s been spotted testing in Dubai. I’ll be looking out for it. Himi – if I get any pics of Borrego I’ll send it to you.

and one more thing. when i send the mail to you, himi, my name will come as “Peregrine Falcon (boris)”. just so that you recognise my mail….

I’ve heard from other people that the Sportage has bad gas mileage.

You got to drive the Borrego? I’m Jealous!
November 25th, 2007 at 7:33 pm
Well if he’s from that wheels mag he does have permition to test drive it. If it comes in the wheels magazine here I’ll try to send the test drive report to Kia -World. Every Kia that has come in the wheels mag, Chandan was the test driver for it. He must have given a positive report on it. All i want to say is that the test drive should be published quickly.

Boris- I noticed that you mention the desert in the seveth comment, I’ll bet it was weird to see a little snow in my video!
November 29th, 2007 at 12:03 pm
dont bet on it Greg. I’ve seen lots of car vids and pix with snow back drop. in fact it had snowed once in UAE. not in Dubai but in RAK (Ras Al Khaima). so snow’s not wierd for me. there was even a hail storm once in Duabi. that was years ago. didnt even have sportage at that time. Rains and fogs are common here in winter (mid-Nov to Feb or mid-March). Its because the municipality have put up a lot of trees. More trees, more water for the trees, more evaporation and more precipitation.

Yes, I’m the one at wheels magazine dubai
