I think those are LED lights. Looks very good in black. but if its a real adveture package from Kia then why doesnt it have a useable roof rack (the sliding one)? Is that optional? And it seems like all of Kia’s SUVs are gonna have that glass hatch although Soul doesnt have the hatch.

It looks edited because there is no reflection of desert sand on the black body.

I personally like the hatch. It requires alot less energy to just open the hatch and pull out a sweater or something, than opening the entire tailgate and having stuff fall out ect. The one in the pic is a V6, Only the V6 will have the little antenna on the roof. Also, the L.E.D. lights will look better than the ones at the debut! I like how you can use bluetooth with it!

Yeah, it also looks like it is about to hit a wall of sand, lol!

Note to himi, I commented on some other articles too, all the way back to The Borrego getting its name. Just wanted to let you know!

I know Greg!;) I get all comments posted here to my e-mail!
I think this has something to do with the level of equipment or engine choice. Higher end models could have L.E.D.s and other not. Or this could be only offered on Kia’s home market. They always get the goodies we are just dreaming about!
Bit I agree. It looks much better with L.E.D.s!

It’s sort of hard to tell if this is the truck with the blacked out pillars or not because the entire truck is black. However, I noticed the antenna on the roof and it looks like it could be the V6. The V8 has a smaller and more upscale antenna.

sorento in korea have led end lights but in chile no have, the HM follow the sorento’s philosophy, a 4×4 with suv skin and this is the reason why the sorento sell’s very well.

Diego, how do you know that HM will not have L.E.D. rear lights in Chile? Did you get some inside information or you are only predicting ?

no i say that the sorento have different rear lights, but the HM maybe can arrive with led rear light like the veracruz.

Could someone in this forum help me to obtain a Kia Mohave brochure or a PDF file in Korean language? I understand that the Mohave/Borrego will be sold in Korea from January 2008 and I assume that such a brochure or PDF file will be readily available to Korean customers. Help highly appreciated.

THAT SOON?! JANUARY?! Well, that will be helpful in predicting the looks and interior of the american model.

    Hey Juan, welcome!

Of course the technical specs will be avaliable when the Borrego hits the market in Korea, but at this time, I can not help you. I don’t have it. You might try to ask someone at HM/Borrego/Mohave fan site from S.Korea!
You can reach them here: hmlove.co.kr when the site will be avaliable again. Right now I can not connect to it.

Wow, some people think the car is boring? It’s funny how people use to always complain about Kia’s weak horsepower, its small cars and low quility back when the Sephia and Sportage were the only models Kia sold. Now, with all these concepts and first ever V8 coming out and with Kia making above adverage in quality problems, now the only complaint is they look like something else.
The number one complaint I hear about Borrego is it looks like B9 or Aspen. However, how could Kia had copied the B9 or Aspen if the KCD-2 grille design was already here back in 05′? In other words, maybe it was Chrysler and Suburu that copied and wanted to release their models before the Borrego came out. I’m glad the Borrego grille came off the KCD-2 grille. Nice design.

That is a good point! Even though I do not think it looks much like the B9. Chrysler is known for copting vehicle designs, so I wouldn’t doubt it.

Jamayl it wasn’t me! I woted acceptable, because the Borrego could easily look more aggresive, like Mesa did. Kia always tones down the production vehicle from a concept car. And this is not good to me.

But I find it very interesting SUV and I might change my mind when I see some better shots. So far we couldn’t see much of the vehicle. And I think those pictures hide some really interesting design elements.

I hope to know more about it soon!

I think that the interior is exciting (judging from the 3 pictures I’ve seen.) exterior is acceptable. Over all grade from me was exciting. Two areas were exciting(the fact it is coming to production, the interior) one was acceptable.(exterior) Exciting outweights acceptable for me.

I found some details of the Mohave in a Korea site. It appears that the Korean version will be only 3.0L V6 engine.

Yes, Borrego will be avaliable with V6 diesel engine on Korean market. This engine is producing a whooping 250 hp!

Why do they not offer the Mohave/Borrego with 3.0L Diesel in the USA or Europe?

  24. Greg Says:

    December 18th, 2007 at 1:32 am

Probly cuz the Brits and americans want more power than that. Heck, the lowest they will put in the Sorento is 3.3, 3.0? Wimpy wimpy wimpy!

    . Complaint
To the attention of KIA International CEO, I am writing to you today to inform you of the misfortune event that happened to me today June 20, 2009. At 0945 hrs I was travelling with my family for my long waited for vacation to Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. Suddenly the back left side tyer and the metal bar wich connects the tyer to the brakes of my Cerato car disengaged from its place and flew in the air. This caused my car to turn several turns which injured my four years old daughter. I was driving on 70 km/hr and I was just coming out of a U turn. I can not describe the panic and fright that my family faced. My child is crying continuosly and does not want to get into any car out of fear. We are now in the street and I called Kia help desk in sharm el sheikh and in Cairo more than ten times with no response. I seeked the help of two mechanics who informed me that this is a manufacturing error in the car and I will be seeking an Engineering firm to check the car and prepare a report proving that this is a manufacturing e! rror. Finally a representative called Ashraf answered and kept denying that this could have happened and is claiming that I must have had an accident. I have photos of the car and I am now reporting the whole issue to the Egyptian police authorities and will bring a full report of the situation. Also, I will bring a medical report with my daughter’s injury. I was in the process of buying the new Cerato 2009 however after this situation, ruining my vacation, my family’s fright, my daughter’s injury and the cherry on top of the cake was the speed of service and attitude of KIA representative. I am disgusted from all what happened and I need to be compensated for all of this. This is not what I expected from a big company like KIA. I need an URGENT call from an International KIA representative as I do not want any more contact with the Egypt representatives. Regards, Tamer El Ghamry
