This is great stuff. However, with the rising cost of diesel over petrol, the savings are only just cancelling out the extra cost of diesel. For example: My 16 year old civic costs 5.25 euro per 100k with petrol at 1.25 euro per litre. My wife drives the Cee’d SW 1.6 crdi and it costs 6.70 euro per 100k with diesel at 1.34 per litre. We can be bombarded only so much about emissions but my pocket matters too.

Hello Jerry!

Kia confirmed the production of eco_cee’d for 2009. I don’t believe Kia will bring it to the States. But what I do believe is, you’re going to get a next gen. Spectra soon wich could get a fuel efficient clean diesel by 2010.

Dear Kia Marketing Department,

Please consider bringing the eco-cee’d to the US market. There is a significant demographic who desire the option to purchase such a vehicle with advanced efficiency and economy features. Currently, no product exists in the US market, none at all. I currently drive a 1989 Geo Metro XFi, which is very efficient at 60 miles per gallon. Nothing I can buy new in this market even comes close to matching that economy. Your eco-cee’d would.
