I mean Hyundai counterparts. I can't spell today. I don't see why people keep comparing Kia to Hyundai. Hyundai hasn't done much on their own since they bought Kia!!

I am a european consumer. About 30-35 years of age. Male.
More than a year, i wait for the new Hyundai i20 to be released.
I expect it to have better design than Getz and fair price.

I would like to buy it 3door, automatic gear (important for me), with ESP,
at 1300-1400cc with 95+ horse power.

To be honest, i like the "sportive" design of KIA instead of Hyundai design.
Instead of buying Hyundai i20 i would prefer to buy KIA "i20" (Rio),
because of the design. For example, i prefer CEED design from i30 design,
and i prefer pro_CEED (3door) design from CEED (5door) design.

You people in Hyundai-KIA Group, i hope you are listening :)

I think the old Getz has no chances on European market. it's time for a redesign and Hyundai knows that! Otherwise competitors will
crush it. It is a good car, but it's the competition that forces automakers to move development of new cars forward.

I don't see a reason why Kia should use an old Getz platform! Why take old technology if there is something new and
more advanced in the Hyundai-Kia automotive group!?

But it is possible on some markets to sell old and new car side by side! Look at the Skoda, Citroen or Fiat. They do that.
But I don't know for Hyundai. I just hope they develope a good i20 platform so Kia can show us another exciting vehicle!

This comes as a bit of a surprise to me, and while I don't doubt the accuracy of your sources, I think it may take a while for the impact of a new Hyundai hatchback to permeate the Asia Pacific region. The Getz Prime is starting to pick up in popularity in India, and Philippine sales of the Getz are increasing exponentially. It's selling just as briskly as the Honda Jazz, and thanks to Hyundai Philippines' innovative pricing schemes, is outselling the more expensive Toyota Yaris and lesser evils Suzuki Alto and Chevy Spark. (I don't have current data for the Kia Picanto, but any sales for Kia is still a good thing for Hyundai.)

Hopefully, Hyundai may consider either adapting this particular model to its sister company's Rio, or market it side-by-side with the Getz. I think the Getz still has legs good for another three to five years in Asia, especially in late-blooming Philippines, where the Getz community would be outraged by a phaseout of a model that is rapidly gaining in popularity and reputation. It hasn't been around longer than three years here; phasing it out in 2008 would send shockwaves through the Getz fan community.
